My basement originally was something like this. But I didn't download this, so I think my basement was WAY bigger than this... And looking back at it, I'm happy for having lost the map. It sucked...

While i like the town's idea and how each house has it's own little theme to it, well,
It needs more Height variation like dtd said about your first map. Make each house reflect the RM original stage design. IE, Crashman's would be a lopsided tower, WaveMan's would have a moat, WindMan would be another tower with his jump pads to get up to the top. Drill Man's would be in a pit... ECT.

I also think that the thin walls don't look so good. Most of the maps for mm8bdm have a strict 32/32 block style.
while I'd be fine with less, the paper thin wall just looks bad.

I would like to, but that would take up ALOT of room.
On the other hand, I would end up with the largest map of all time...

Not necessarily, The map is already quite large, your now just moving the houses Up and Down. some of the RM with difficult designs could probably be made smaller to compensate for any extra space used to make the map better.

you could also merge ballade, enker and Punk into a wiley themed house if you feel like it.

other things you could do are add random barrels and Trees to break up the flatness. And since the map is made to be a town, why not add road textures or grass textures on the ground.

This map has a lot of potential, I like it.

I'm going to be blunt here.
This map is horrible. Climbing up a huge flight of stairs with my only payoff being Leaf Shield. Pure black tiles that teleport me into a literally inescapable room with nothing in it but Gyro Attack. Keep practicing, you'll get better.

I could have each RM room have the masters weapon, but that leaves easy to access weapons. I could also put them in the weapons room, but that has its own problems. The main problem is this map was not designed for combat. It was designed as a hotel.

The weapons would turn out fine as a decoration because.........
A.) You said it yourself, it's a hotel, not a battlefield
B.) There's no weapon energy capsules to refill the weapons that'd need refilling (flash stopper, gravity hold, etc.)

This is a good hotel! Looks like it took a lot of time.

A map, joke or not, hotel or battlefield, just needs items/weapons, but that's my opinion. Suggestion: you could make a vending machine with E-Tanks around it.

In fact, I'm working on an even better version, with a sorta-new layout. One of the changes, for example, is giving the pool Diving Boards.

Hey, FiniteZero?  Two things regarding Hotel Megaman:
- Firstly, use this (http://www.mediafire.com/?w2bm041vpsbgh4b). (Seriously.  A 9 MB MP3 that loops twice and doesn't loop correctly (do they ever?) is inexcusable.)
- Secondly... why is the song slowed down to 250% speed anyway?  It just sounds annoying, even before the first loop.

I actually really like the music used for Hotel Megaman. I think the remix used suits the hotel perfectly!

I also really like the map itself! It's a great map to randomly explore and I'm really looking forward to the V4!

Nope.  I refuse to download it.  There is no excuse for that file size unless you jammed Hotel RockMan full of custom classes, custom sounds, and 20 OGGs.

...There's only one piece of music in it. Just a sorta long one. And that's the only reason for its size. No need to be like that.

If it's the same piece of music I actually edited to size for you, then that's unacceptable.  If it's an MP3 that loops twice with no good reason, that's also unacceptable.  10 MB may not seem like a lot, especially these days, but I personally think there'd better be a damn good reason for a simple map with limited custom content to have that kind of size.

Dude. Duuuuude. Hotel Rockman really takes the cake! (and I'm talkin' a warm, freshly-baked cake) I really like the room redesigns, and the pool is just an added plus! My only advice is add the bubble spawners to each individual shower, make the showers transparent-ish, and make the walk-through-able (Yes, it's a word now. I made it a word.) So... Hotel Rockman all the way!

I'd like to note that there's only ONE spawnpoint in the MMBN maps...

Not sure if intentional, but the single spawn point is where MegaMan.exe jacks in to each network.

While a fatal mistake with multiplayer, it sort of makes sense. Kind of.





... Wait, why would you play this in multiplayer? There's only one weapon token, and on one map it's just Flash Stopper...

I was thinking a deathmatch stage for the AwNetwork thing, which would have the classes for each Style, other navis, etc.

Only one spawnpoint because it's a simple novelty map to explore a bit. Nothing more, nothing less. It would be easy to put in additional spawnpoints for this, I guess.

Edit: There's also this problem where when you enter either the doors that's colored pink or blue, you're trapped in there until someone can get you out.

That's issues with Software mode. For it to work right, you have to use Open GL with this map.

Actually, Finite, the problem is that the Software Mode of Zandronum lacks the "non-power-of-two textures" support. An easy fix for it is to make the texture's height a power of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc.) but keep the lower, unused portion transparent or extend the texture to fill that portion. An example of it can be seen in MM6YAM. A brief test made by me using a texture modified to fit the power of two. Result? No Tutti-Frutti! Before a "non-power-of-two" support was implemented, the Tutti-Frutti effect was regarded as a sort of bad mapping (when, actually, it would be bad texture design). So, thing is, it IS possible to fix.

In case you wonder, I use OGL.

If you want to find out, I suggest using the offline skirmish multiplayer thing to browse maps, as that does show the code for the map.

I like Hotel RM more than Hotel MM simply because of the fact that it has things that Hotel MM doesn't. It still feels pretty unfinished, though, and the diving boards are glitched horribly. Also I miss the Roll receptionist.

Do you mind if I pilfer the music used here for my own sinister purposes?

Sure, as long as you credit me.

Also, the diving boards are only glitched on software mode. This map is pretty much OpenGL only. Don't worry, though. The map doesn't lag on OpenGL, unlike other maps *cough*Iceman*cough*.

Well, I guess I'm getting back into this for a quick minute or so.

This is a prototype, a sort of proof-of-concept. The idea: Make a movie theatre in Mega Man 8 Bit Deathmatch, using screenshots of movie-based NES games as the movies. In an actual theatre map, the place would probably be much larger.

Oh, and the game I'm using to demonstrate this idea is the prototype of a game based off of Star Trek V. The game was never actually released, though.

I'd post screenshots, but it won't really give you anything I didn't already say.

OK, now when I try to access the map in offline skirmish or launch a multiplayer server with it, it just says "Map MOVIE not found". Did I break it or something?
