Ok so, Cold Fusion gave me authorization to post this at the forums, cus' he's too lazy to get an account himself.


This is the Touhou classes Mod, made by Cold Fusion. This features classes based on the characters from the touhou series. Currently on v1, it has the characters from Touhou 06: The Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil, plus a secret class. That, in my opinion, shouldn't even be there.
More classes will be released in future updates.
Compatible With: 4 Teams, Chaos Generator, Shagg Pack, Community Maps Pack

I went and tested everything in it.
There's...so much wrong with it. And there's so much it's almost as if y'all put so much in it so it'd be physically impossible for someone like me to review it.
As such, I'll just tell you which ones are broken.

Rumia: Occasionally Broken
Cirno: Occasionally Broken
Meiling: Not Broken
Patchouli: Incredibly Broken
Sakuya: Stopping Time that takes 10 seconds to charge, plus incredibly hax weapons? Broken!
Remilia: Incredibly Broken
Flandre: Her weapons are broken, and she's incredibly fast/can jump high. Except she dies in two hits. This is not an excuse, however. Broken.
Ashley: No.

CF made it based on spellcards mostly... And that's what bothered me.

Well, you can take on two basic examples:
"Phantasmagoria of Dim Dream" or "Phantasmagoria of Flower View" for a more bullet hellish classes mod.
"Immaterial and Missing Power", "Scarlet Weather Rhapsody" or "Unthinkable Natural Law" for a much more controlled bullet hell with fighting elements.

Also, try to not recycle sprites, such as Gamma Balls. And the hands looks ewww... The hand is like too fat for the arm.

I've found that several weapons, such as Patchouli's Blue ring thingy, or the one or two bullet hell attacks(previous excluded), also knife lady's black knife, are all 1HKOs and are incredibly easy to hit someone with.

Also, Knife Lady's green knives slow down after bouncing a lot, but that's part of Gemini's coding I think, so whatever.
ALSO ALSO, Knife Lady's black knife can be recharged with Weapon Energy AS WELL as the normal charging.

Strangely enough, Patchouli's balls of doom from the sky aren't incredibly unbalanced.

Hm, is CF anywhere around? if so, he could try and contact me. If not, here's a concept I had early:
Phantasmagoria style:
Main Fire uses the normal shot as they would be in Phantasmagoria.
Alt Fire uses a "Charged" shot, which is limited to no more than 5 bursts.

example:
Lyrica's main would be her double front-tail shot and her alt fire would be her setting a keyboard in place that fires in a single direction rapidly for 1 second or less.

If I awnser what's the meaning of these characters in there, I would spoil the release. Cold Fusion actually told it to me and some more people, but it's still in the making and I wouldn't like to spoil anything about it.

Mega Man edits are lazy and overdone. Think about it like this. What if every single robot master ever was just an edit of Mega Man? The game would be incredibly boring graphics-wise.
People continue to make Mega Man edits for skins here, and it REALLY bugs me, for that reason. I don't want to see 20 megaman edits in a game where people worked very hard on the stock skins. Yes, people worked hard on custom skins as well, but I still feel strongly about this.

Wow, CF, you did a special work here. I love the HUDS and most of the weapons here. I really feel like in a touhou movie here. However... What about that secret class?...

My favorite part is the "Ashley" class. I've not tried this out myself, but apparently it uses my invasion weapons, which was never authorized. At least TRY and get permission to use things like that.

These Classes Are Very Interesting!

Fastweapons and Infinite ammo break all of them, but thats cheats so, yeah.

I Tried Them With Ashley's Touhou Invasion Map and it is awesome.

Off Topic, but Whats The Map With The Code "FLAN"?

I have received a few complaints about several aspects of the Touhou Classes Mod and feel the need to address them.

Q: <This Class> is broken! Fix it!

A: I would appreciate more constructive criticism. Please tell me why it's broken, and not just “everything about it is broken.”

Q: <This Class> has nothing to do with Touhou!

A: ...OK, I hate it when people say this. Why? Because easter eggs don't always have to do with the other content. I mean, what does Zork have to do with Call of Duty? What does a Megabuster have to do with the zombie outbreak? My answer: Nothing. They're just easter eggs the developers added to make the game more interesting. And that's what this is: an easter egg.

Q: Don't make people classes!

A: Technically, they're supposed to be robots working with Megaman to stop the Touhou invasion. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough with botchats/element resistances. Besides, you may be next in line to be immortalized.

Q: Hey, that's my content!

A: Did I forget to credit you? Tell me and I'll put you in the credits. Do you not want it in the pack? It will be removed for the next release.

Q: I found a glitch!

A: I haven't seen this one yet, but just in case: please post all glitches you find in the topic. They will be dealt with for the next release.

Q: This mod sucks because it's Touhou.

In case anyone was wondering what is going on with this project, it's currently on an indefinite hiatus. I realized that there was too much I wanted to do with it that I just didn't have the time and/or motivation to do.

I will make a new topic when I finally decide to start it back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Crap and I was forming a Touhou based mod too. I couldn't play the demo in the link (need to fix that), but it seems similar in design to what mine was like. Should I still post mine up (it's just a development list)?

Yes, this is a mod of MM8BDM. You need megagame.wad and a relevant version of MM8BDM.pk3 to play it.

Alright time to get this topic back to life!
Now with xColdxFusionx's permission i have made a Wcolors and weaponbar fix for MM8BDMv3

Any errors in the mod are part of the weapons coding and the fact that this is outdated as all hell!

but yeah, Coldy probably won't do anything here. Mostly due to the whole holy nuts factor.

If anyone's going to do work, it's probably either Lego or Cold Noodles, and in either case the classes are going to be structured to behave more like they do in the fighting games. This means that projectile shots will still exist, but in far lower numbers and with balanced damage output. The projectiles will serve as compliments to other attacks, like "buster shots" from Marisa's Mini-Hakkero, combo hits from Reimu's staff, or high-powered punches from Hong Meiling.

So yeah, for the love of all that is holy I am asking for a "lockity lock lock :cool:". If you need a statement from Coldy first, then fine, but he's pretty much confirmed that we'd all prefer to forget about this ancient evil.
