Battle Network is a really good series, I just don't like it half as much as Classic or ZX.

I sadly only watched videos of it.. BN might be a good series to try.

Classic
X
Zero 4 (only zero I played)
-insert drop from Ivory's post-
Legends
-Insert a few more drops-
Battle Network

Never gave enough of a care to try the others. I barely had enough interest to try legends.

Edit: Forgot Battle Network existed. Honestly its probably the worst game I've ever played, worse than X6.
Edit 2: Fix'd. Changed Korby to Ivory. I always mix you guys up =/

Classic (Wouldn't mind seeing number 11 released)
X (haven't played in a while, but the first four-five and 7 I may replay in the future)
Battle Network (slowly losing appeal for me)
-These two below I haven't played much, and don't have much interest in doing so-
Zero (beat the first game, lost interest in the other games)
Legends (only 64 played, didn't finish)
-These two I never played and don't plan to-
ZX and Star Force

inb4 I get raged at for having BN as my favorite.

And yeah... Least favorite is X.
Mostly because i only played 1 - 3 but also because ive seen 4 and 5 and they look alot less promising.

I really hate X, alot.

In order:

Classic holds the flagship position, but I'm starting to think it's about time to put it to bed with an epic finale... maybe go to 12.
X started out awesome but quickly turned to complete bullshit.  If X9 killed off Axel and started leading into the whole elf wars plotline I'd potentially be interested again.
Zero was cool but it's over, so I'd rather they just leave it alone and not risk retroactively screwing things up.
ZX is rather meh.  Really needs to find it's own groove and stop leeching off of the Zero series if it's going to ever amount to anything.
Legends 1 was an interesting experiment but I don't really care about continuing it.
It would take effort for me to care any less about the other spinoffs.

I actually like all the series, save for one, so it's a bit hard to order them. I'll just go by how much I enjoyed each one (and again, I enjoyed all but one)

-Zero
-MMBN
-ZX

LOVE Zero and ZX for probably having the fastest paced gameplay. BN is an action RPG, my favorite genre, so it goes here for having action based battles and allowing for insane customization(Thousands of weaponsets, choose good or evil, etc.) Zero is the most consistent in that all of the games are high-calibur (and it's a damn good thing they stopped at Z4). BN has a quality dip somewhere in there, and ZXA is a bit lackluster, but the peaks of those series are fantastic if you're into the genre. Really, you shouldn't hate BN for being an action RPG!
---
-X
-Classic
-Star Force

I love these games too but they're just slower. X5+ just bogs down pace with various gimmicks, Classic is hard for me to play now because there's no dash (of course, Rockman & Forte is my  favorite of that bunch). Star Force is a watered down MMBN but has the benefit of online mode (also they push boss difficulty up a bit here) Problem here is quality jumps around a lot here, each series has its own black sheep.
---------
-Legends

Oh god I started Legends 1 and couldn't stand it all. Dunno what it was, really.

Star Force/X (the slash means it's a tie beetween both)(X7,X4 and X5 are the best titles of the series. And X7 is veeeeery underrated)
BN (the first thing Megaman-related I have ever saw, then I slowly started to know about the other ones)
Classic
ZX
Zero (cool story bro, but I still don't understand how did Zero change design if he was sealed 100 years on the same state)
Legends (the games are a bit boring, the story is ok)

INB4 rage because I like X, SF and BN
Title: Re: What order are the series in this franchase important to

1. Mega Man Classic - Good series overall
2. Mega Man X - Pretty good until X6. That's when it started to go meh, but good series still
3. Mega Man Battle Network inb4 people rage at the fact that BN and SS are on my top 5.
4. Mega Man Starforce inb4 people will rage even more
5. Mega Man Zero - Nice little spinoff here, liked Zero 2 the best.
6. Mega Man Legends - I find this series fun. Lots of things you can do here, but it just can't compete with the others.

I never played the ZX series. Is it any good?

Classic
Battle Network
X
Legends
Starforce
ZX
Zero

Classic is and always will be the most important to me. Mega Man 11 before anything else.

Battle Network is a brilliant combination of action RPG that Capcom really nailed. It was also very, very popular overall for a time, and I feel like it could be an important series to revisit in the near future. A Battle Network game that went online and made use of Streetpass features could be the next big hit on 3DS!

I love and hate X, because SNES ones am good but it just gets worse sooo...if they made an SNES one that'd be cool.

BUY LEGENDS 3

I really do like Starforce, and agree it's underrated, but I have to put the original concepts above the 'sequel franchises' for sure.

After ZX, it looks like Inticreates focused on Shin-Chan DS games and Mega Man 9 and 10. After releasing Zero collection, the last game they made is...well I'll just say it was not Mega Man.

As far as I know, they have not said what they're working on right now. A new Mega Man for 3DS? Who knows...

1/EXE (best action/strategy intelligent game i have seen, and the ambiance of the anime is perfectly nice...and the musics are really fun, capcom is immortal when i see EXE)
2/Classic (because it's classic, the musics are awesome)
3/X (the most epic serie with a lot of actions)

All the blue bomber with a Dr Light (yes there is a Dr Light/Hikari Tadashi in EXE)

After..

Legend (so slow....)
MMZ (what happens to Zero? O.O
ZX (take out "Megaman", just ZX with an other name, by exemple "TeraMan ZX", we wont see that is a megaman game...ZX is like SF, absolutly not a Megaman Game)
SF (Like ZX, there is just a blue bomber with a dragon in the arm).

And EXE had 16 games with 5 years, 2 arcades, a lot of goodies, the others megaman series, together, cant do so well.

First off, Star Force feels like a 2D Battle Network. I would have placed it higher if ZX and Zero weren't so badass.

And as for calling ZX "not a megaman game" The huge health bars, X-styled gameplay and badass powerups would have given it away eventually, no?

Have had ambitions to play ZX though.
Title: Re: What order are the series in this franchase important to

I mean, ZX is not a megaman game for the ambiance.

MMZ was a shame, and Zero had a Uzi minigun and not his true buster. In ZX too!

It's not hard to do a good gameplay for a game, but for to keep the ambiance and the spirit of the serie, its harder.

Not a true bluebomber with buster, not a Dr Light in the story, not good music = Not a Megaman ^^

MMZ and ZX dont have good musics like classic or x i think. MMZ have just empty musics, ZX, wtf this techno sound...

EDIT:

I did a topic for this, but i repost here, just for the lol

(click to show/hide)

You see? SF and MMZ/ZX CRASH, lol !
Anyways; i know, there is more chance to have a new EXE (after the story with Netto), than a ZX3.

Zero doesn't HAVE a true buster unless you count X3 when he had X's buster.

you mad hypocrite with your "SUPER UPDATE OF THE TRUE!!!" ? ^_^

MMZ is seriously ridiculous, Zero looks like a children with really a bad teen style, his uzi is ridiculous, and the music in mmZ give me the headache. MMZX Too.

MMZ, good musics? HAHAHAHAHA, compared to Classic or EXE, there is NOTHING in MMZ, except a fast gameplay (but a short screen), the musics in mMZ/ZX looks like a bad technomusic.

Everybody like EXE because its the best action/rpg game, good story (the story in MMZ is just very UGLY), good musics (i can give you a lot of links), good tactic game (really more complicate than Pokecommercial), in Japan, they are intelligent, not like in US.

And anyways, MMZ/ZX= Inti Creates, not really Capcom, inti creates sucks.
Who remember a good music of MMZ? Maybe just one or 2, no more. Thx.

I played and finished all the series, mmz 1-4 and ZX. But not ZXA, just because, i was digusted by Inti Creates ideas. They want kill the blue bomber and X (X killed in MMZ2 was a shame)

Inti Creates must disappear.

Anyways, with 64 000 sales in Japan, there wont be any ZX3, im happy for that.

Capcom sucks now, MM9 was a good tactic to see if there is always the fanboys of classic, but mm10 was too much, useless....

A lot of fangames can be better than mm10, why capcom doesnt make a real mm classic like mm&bass or others? Maybe because they killed the serie when Inti Creates came to kill MMX.

Yes. Its just like a fangame. Not like an official.

Why there isnt a megaman 11? Just because Capcom dont want lose time with 8 bits style.

If you like spend your money on a 8bits game where everybody can do the same game, its not my problem, i finished mm10 in hard mode with Rockman, Blues and Forte but its true, this game have really a problem, it wont be good for the serie because capcom wont have enough money to do an other Megaman (Rockman) Classic, its true.

You will see, there wont be a 8bits mm11, look at Megaman Universe (canceled), it sucks, HAHAHAHAHA!
Title: Re: What order are the series in this franchase important to
Post by: Nuy on July 03, 2011, 06:32:57 PM
I dont understand your point at all. You say its bad because its like a fangame(which it isn't, infact more capcom members worked with 10 than any other mega man game) which not only is it implying that every fan game is BAD, its also not even a good reason to say it sucks. Also MM9 and 10 ARE NOT EIGHT BIT.
Title: Re: What order are the series in this franchase important to
Post by: Emmanuelf06 on July 03, 2011, 06:36:21 PM
MM11, retro style? I want see, im pretty sure, they wont do that.

And yes, MM9 and 10 use 8bits system, i mean, Keiji Inafune (and I.C) wanted to do a mm9 and mm10 with the power of the first NES (Famicom) like mm2!, NOT MORE, i have seen an interview.
It's the reason MM9 and 10 are not so big for a game.

But lol, when i compare Galaxyman stage and Knightman stage for the graphism, just lol.
Title: Re: What order are the series in this franchase important to

Classic
X
Zero

Haven't played any other series. Classic got me into Mega Man, and though the Zero series was interesting, it was outrageously difficult. X was pretty reasonable.
