Title: Need help saving configurations in GvH.
Post by: LlamaHombre on June 11, 2011, 12:09:15 AM
I have everything set to the same controls and name as in 8BDM, and then when I'm tired and close it out, it gives me an error with two options: Retry and Abort.

Clicking Retry does Nothing, and Abort does just that.

Upon loading up GvH again, I'm back to being cdplayer, and I must reconfigure my controls and name.

Help?

Odd, this should not really happen. Try putting all GVH-related files in the same folder where your Skulltag.exe is or where your MM8BDM stuff is.

Configurations also seem to be user-based, so it'll probaly be different if you where to log in on a different name on your computer. If you're always using the same account i cant really think of any other solutions aside putting the files in the Skulltag folder (where also MM8BDM.exe is, and Skulltag.exe).

Could also be one of those Skulltag bugs only the Skulltag team (not Cutman!) can fix.

Hmm... Well thats all i can do with the current information.

Though you did mention something about an CD are you using Doom on a CD to run GVH? If so that might be it, and in such case i would suggest to copy doom2.wad from the CD (or other things like a floppy, usb, removable hard drive, etc, whatever it is on) to your MM8BDM/Skulltag folder, where the .exe's are or wherever it is looking for wads (some programs ask for a path to a folder where all the pk3/wad files are stored, in Skulltag.exe's case, it just picks files in the same folder it is in).
And if that doesnt help more information would certainly be of use.

Edit: Oh, keep the CD out if you used one to run Doom with. Not sure if thats even possible but why would it else refer to a CD?
And i hope you closed it properly, just by pressing ESC(Escape), quit, selecting yes, and all that usual stuff, aborting the program by any other means may result in loss of data aka stats resetting or not updating.
