Title: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights
Post by: squidgy617 on June 28, 2011, 03:26:02 PM
So Spiral Knights has become a Free to Play game on Steam. Is a good game. Has anyone else played it? IF YOU HAVE, LETS DISCUSS.

While I'm at it, I might as well beg ask you guys for help. Yasee, they've added an option to invite friends, and if you invite 5, you get a free mask. Well, most of my friends either already have it, won't bother playing, or will and haven't gotten around to it. So if you're thinking about playing it, perhaps you should add me and I'll invite you. It'll only work if you don't play except through the invite. So if you want to play, please add me before you begin...

No this topic was not just for getting help. Ppphhht. What're you talking about?

I've played it, but my computer's not good enough to run it well, so I just got far enough to get the free hat.

Though from what I played, it was very nice!

I guess I'll give it a shot while waiting for TF2 to update.

Is the free TF2 hat still being given away? I noticed that when I finally gained the ability to bind my steam account to my Spiral Knights one, I got it. I thought it was only for the first day, but it'd be cool if its still going.

Isn't it a hat for Soldier?

If so I'd be pissed, because I don't use explosive classes.
Title: Re: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights
Post by: squidgy617 on June 28, 2011, 03:40:31 PM
It is, it is. It has files apparently that make it work for any class, but they ended up just making it for the soldier for some reason.

Probably because "Knights" are "Soldiers" in some sort of way.

SPIIIIIRAAAAAAALLLLLLLL KNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS

I freaking LOVE this game. I played it first about three months ago (near the time it was first released) and got all my campus friends hooked into it. Funny thing, I usually don't visit this subforum, I just came here to check up on MegaMon, and looky here, SPIRAL KNIGHTS PLAYERS ON CUTSTUFF

HOLY SHIT ON A SHIT SANDWICH

I have to say that Spiral Knights in undeniably the best MMO I have ever played. Ever. It's super simple to learn since there's no gigantic HP numbers like Final Fantasy! Only HP pieces like Zelda! There are only three attack types, but that's plenty once you figure in things like knockback and elemental damage types. There are also puzzles that involve tripping a far-away switch to open gates, or pushing around blocks on slippery ice to move on. When I saw the puzzles I nearly blew a gasket, that was the most beautiful thing I've seen in any MMO. It's not just mindless grinding against monsters to level up, or fishing at some stupid lake, or digging for gems and gold pieces for hours on end, IT'S FUCKING MMO ZELDA!

Best. Game. Ever.

My player name's "Kirobi", incase anyone wants to friend me :p

FUCK YEAH PVP!!!1111!!!!1111!1one (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/17761)

Seriously, this game really needed PvP to keep it from choking on its own crawl-craft-repeat monotony. Though Bomberman isn't the the first thing I would have picked for the first minigame, it's a start.

I like the idea of the game, but I dislike being denied access to the game because I've done too much already, especially if it's an MMORPG. The game itself I don't mind so much, but only being able to go down 10 times a day is kind of annoying. Not to mention how mightly they stress getting that darn starter pack.

I know you can get mist tanks, but considering how you have to buy them to get them in any easy manner, it doesn't help the problem very much.

I actually take back what I said. I have found that using the energy I have available each day, I can make enough money and then some to buy 100 Crystal Energy. And this is without the current power surge. I just have to keep dieing to a minimum and doing a whole run through tier 2 is more than enough.

I play it sometimes!
the energy system is really annoying, once you get into it you always run out!
especially cause you need to use up energy for EVERYTHING you do!
game itself is really nice and fun to play with friends, i want to use bombs but HNG THEY ARE USELESS ALL THE TIME

i wish it had a cash shop or whatever instead of the energy system!
Title: Re: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights
Post by: Rawk Hawk on August 24, 2011, 12:17:15 PM
You can purchase energy using in game money. I think the current rate is like 6K for 100 energy or something, I forget now.

Most bombs are hard to use, but Freezing Bombs are worth your time, especially for Arenas and Danger Rooms, as even 3 star ones can render a group of enemies motionless, allowing you to deal with the others first.

Okay guys, do we have a good sized amount of Cutstuff members playing this? They're coming out with a big Guild Hall update so I was thinking that if we had enough people, creating a Cutstuff guild wouldn't be a bad idea.

If any of you want to know everything that was revealed so far, in one compact pastebin, here you go (http://pastebin.com/NNXmLERk).
(Also, by E-Class it's more than likely they mean they run on some sort of energy, though it may be the level of the sprite)
Something that is not included there is that all the battle sprites will change appearances differently when they evolve, which hopefully means most battle sprites won't be a copy-paste clone of each other.

I've seen many experienced players bitch about this back and forth, but I'm actually glad they've done this. This is probably the second best thing that coul've happened to SK (other than clockwork extensions)

A big update is incoming!

Expect it within two days. Let's go over what we're getting.

I'm mostly-- no, I think completely quoting dev posts from the forums so you don't have to go over there and dig it all from the surface yourself. Plus, I'd like to see if you're really interested at all.

Some of you (like myself) are really lazy and would rather stay on the forum to read it, so yeah.

First, the thing we have known of for months, Battle Sprites. Mm, (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/images/3/31/Promo_drakon-solo.png) these (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/images/7/7b/Promo_seraph-solo.png) guys. (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/images/f/f4/Promo_wraith-solo.png)

Nick, a developer, has listed the abilities of all the sprites. It's pretty big.

(click to show/hide)

Some info on the Ultimate Skills.

Quote
Difficulty Modes

Battle Sprites are being added to the game in part to introduce more variety, and they will also have an impact on the degree of difficulty in the game. To balance this, we are adding the ability to select the difficulty modes for each mission or Arcade expedition. As difficulty increases, so do the potential rewards. This allows parties to determine how challenging their experience will be.

Quote
Energy System Changes

Since the game launched over two years ago, Spiral Knights has operated with a much-maligned energy system that limited the amount of free play that a player could experience every day. With our next update, we are removing this system. Here is how it will work after release:

Elevators will no longer require energy to operate. You can play as long as you like.

Mist energy is being removed from the game entirely, and crystal energy will just be “energy.”

Energy will be used to trade for goods and services within the game as usual.

You will now find loot drops (“Orbs of Alchemy” and “Fire Crystals”) in the Clockworks that you can
use to craft and upgrade your gear.

Revives will now be facilitated by in-game items called “Sparks of Life” which are dropped in the
Clockworks and can also be bought.

Our goal is to make this transition between systems as smooth as possible. To that end, we will be implementing ways to give people an appropriate value for items such as mist wells, mist tanks, and elevator passes, which are being replaced under this new system.[/list]

We are removing mist energy for a couple of reasons. First, so that elevators will stop requiring the use of energy. Second, from a design perspective, we want to encourage Spiral Knights players to experiment with more of the game than our research shows that they currently do. It turns out that providing energy to players in greater or lesser amounts does not encourage them to try out different weapons and gear, something we have always believed was a core part of the Spiral Knights experience.

    Quote
    Orbs of Alchemy for Crafting

Orbs of Alchemy can be found as loot drops as you play in the Clockworks, and will be used instead of energy for crafting. Orbs exist for each star level in the game (save for 0 star). As you play, you will find over time that you have more orbs than you need for the upgrade of your initial choice of weapons, and that you have the resources to build a broader arsenal of gear. This, in turn, will make it easier for Spiral Knights players to experiment with more varied equipment and gameplay styles. Orbs of Alchemy, in addition to being found in the Clockworks as loot, may be bought from the Supply Depot.

    Quote
    Sparks of Life for Reviving

Currently in the game, you use either health or energy directly to revive yourself or your teammates. In addition, the energy cost of reviving rises each time you do it within a period of time.

Following the next update, this system will be replaced. Players will be able to find "Sparks of Life" as loot drops in the Clockworks, and use these to revive. If a player dies without sparks in their arsenal, they may choose to pay a flat energy fee of 50 energy to revive. This energy cost does not escalate over time, as the old system did--it stays the same. Sparks of Life may also be bought in bulk from the Supply Depot.

In addition, upon entering each level of the Clockworks, you will receive an "emergency revive". This emergency revive is a free action for each player. If you proceed to the next level dead, you will automatically use your emergency revive at the start of the next level. We’ll keep an eye on the data side of things to make sure this is having the intended effect on gameplay.

    Quote
    Star Levels and Equipment Availability

After this release, you will need to meet the required mission rank in order to equip items of a specific star level. This limits the availability of advanced gear for new players, and it establishes the importance and meaning of achieving those items; players will earn the right to use that gear.

Note for current Spiral Knights players: If you currently have a low mission rank, but you have high star level gear bound to you (i.e., you don’t have to be wearing it at the time of release), fear not! The highest star level item bound to you becomes your equipment limit. If you've never touched a mission, but you have 5* gear bound to you, you will still have the maximum equip limit.

    Quote
    Fire Crystals for Equipment Leveling

Following this release, players will use “Fire Crystals” retrieved from the Clockworks to level up their gear after acquiring the requisite amount of heat. Your choice of the number of fire crystals to use with each upgrade will have an influence on the success of the upgrade and the likelihood that the gear gains special bonuses, such as double level up. The heat you earn in the Clockworks remains yours, regardless of the success of the upgrade.

    Quote
All of these changes represent a huge realignment of the game, and we're aware that this will generate debate. Over the next couple of months, we will focus on refining these features and other areas of the game further to improve the overall experience of Spiral Knights, with an emphasis on improving the balance of Battle Sprites and making it more inviting for more players to advance further in the game.

The development team has been working long hours over the past months to complete these changes. Thanks in advance for bearing with us during the first days of release while we find and adjust any unforeseen issues this gigantic update may introduce, and thank you for playing Spiral Knights and being part of our community.

So, who's excited, who's hating a certain part of it, fire crystals sound bad and most of all, which battle sprite are you picking? I'm going for Maskeraith. I feel he's going to be the least picked.
    Title: Re: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights

Yeah, I feel Fire Crystals and Sparks of Life (and to a lesser extent Orbs of Alchemy) are going to be the primary limiting factor for free play now that Three Rings can't let the free market make extended play untenable for them.

In other news, this gives me a reason to play this again, since the main reason I stopped was the exchange rate for Crystal Energy becoming impossible for players to reasonably attain. (Well, that and the fact that the mission system for advancement is actually more grindy than the old clearance system, which was basically "Hey, if you can survive this tier then go for it.")

Elevators will no longer require energy to operate. You can play as long as you like.
Mist energy is being removed from the game entirely, and crystal energy will just be “energy.”
Energy will be used to trade for goods and services within the game as usual.
You will now find loot drops (“Orbs of Alchemy” and “Fire Crystals”) in the Clockworks that you can use to craft and upgrade your gear.
    HELL. YES.

The only thing I'm legitimately worried about is the whole "Sparks of Life" mechanic; I'm going to miss cutting my one bar of HP in half to barely revive somebody. It made me feel like a pro for strafe dodging long enough for a fallen player to check if they're staying in the game, get a tab on their Crystal Energy levels, ask others for a team revive, get denied said team revive, and finally ask me to split my health with them so they can actually fight instead of circle around the enemies all day.

Oh well, still gives me a reason to put down Sonic Racing Transformed and pick Spiral Knights up again.

Whoa they're getting rid of the energy mechanic
Well fuck I just deleted my old account because I thoroughly broke it with poor weapon choices but hell yes this'll definitely get me back into the game.
I remember back in the day I poured lodsemone into this game, and I was having a wonderful time.  The removal of the energy system is so fucking great

I made the foolish mistake of choosing Drakon as my sprite.

    DO NOT. PICK. DRAKON.

At full power his fireball does 41 damage, and his fire wave does 35.  Maskeraith can poison enemies and Seraphynx can net you more health.  While drakon does have a shield, it's unlocked rather late.

    ghosts and kittens master race

That can't be his full power, can it? Say, a WRH doesn't deal as much damage in T1 floors as it does in T2 floors, but T2 floors are not as much as T3. I'm sure the same applies to sprites.

How could you have maxed his fireball already?
    Title: Re: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights
Post by: Thunderono on July 31, 2013, 10:58:53 PM
Simply looking up a video of his maxed out stats produces better results than going through the painfully long process of leveling them.
Spike and I reset our characters and I'll probably wind up nabbing Maskerain.  The poison attribute of his needles is too useful.

I went Spelunderking (yes that's a word now) with Llama-gjhfgjsruf,, Thunder_Blecermhsgk, and Spikeguy. Later on, Llama wasn't getting his prizes, and realized he didn't do some missions, thus he didn't get his fancy chancy handy dandy prizes.

He should be soloing those right now, but most of them are talk missions, if not one of them.

Decide early on if you really do want to specialize-ish on things

Sometimes you're going to feel like an idiot for getting a certain weapon, or a helmet/armor. *cough* Wish I didn't get a Twisted Snarble Barb. I'm also sort of regretting my pick in the Wolver line.

Maybe if I was a bomber or gunner instead, that'd be nice, but eh, so many things I already did.

I think I'l build into the other stuff once I get my Vog Cub gear, and a Voltedge so it should be fine? Because by then, I can run around FSC for crowns and things. I need to stop running around with "oh I should really be using this" and then go back to what I had before like, 3 days later.

this has been another minor venting session
    I don't know.

By the way Antigua needs a third line that uses Piercing or something

So after 7 or so months I picked this up again.
I forgot that I had a character (Teegott if anyone cares)
he's still pretty early, I think, but there's some stuff that I got
also Thunder gave me some sort of fire-resistant shield whose name eludes me

I also apparently had a bomb lying around in my inventory (Firecracker)

    Bombs are so much FUN.
Just place one down, hit a whole lot of enemies (and set them all on fire)

to quote GBT, Thunder and I:

TGOT: "Toid, let's be bomb buddies!"
    GBT: "NO."
    -
Thunder: "You know, I'm just drilling inside of Gumballtoid while TGOT holds a bomb over his head."

    Title: Re: Spiiiiraaaall Kniiiiights
Post by: LlamaHombre on August 02, 2013, 11:16:23 PM
Drakon is more for a tank-build oriented with things like a Fireball, Fire Wave, and Defensive shield. He also doesn't take 4x damage from Stealth Rocks and if anything is RU at least. You can usually take the front lines with your ability to both light people on fire and shield yourself from damage when it becomes too much or if you just want to charge in like a maniac. Drakon's my personal favorite in both design and use.
Seraphynx has a pretty cool name but it's basically playing medic. You get a short ranged laser that is hands down the worst projectile of the three, but he does have a nifty stroke attack which increases the amount of hearts people drop. However as I don't rely on field hearts anyways (vitapods and life capsules work fine for me) I kinda just left this guy behind. He probably the coolest name of the bunch though, combining Seraph with Sphinx.
Maskeraith is a decent support but it never really performs much without adult supervision. Splinter Needles or whatever they're called lowers the defense of enemies, but I feel the damage output is just not enough for me. You can make yourself invisible, cool, but in a game like this I can't imagine it doing much at all. It wears off when you attack and you have to wait another cooldown period (which is long) before you can use it again, which basically only allows you to get the first strike on an enemy with like an adamantium chest or something.

In other words I recommend the Drakon but that's because my personal taste goes into more tanky builds. The other guys are completely fine too, but they're just not what I enjoy playing.

I'm glad I could help while listing the positive stuff on each of them. I couldn't get much detail on the ones I didn't use, myself.

So yeah, I'd mostly recommend Llama's info on Drakon over mine, or a mixture.

Maskeraith's ultimate skill augments for Caustic Quills and Hexing Haze usually help alot with crowd control, especially that one that makes a quilled target shoot another quill to another target, or you can go for explosions instead.

It takes a while to get Hexing Haze, sadly. Same with all the third skills. I think level 50-ish?

We interrupt this thread to bring you a special bulletin from Guild Master Balrog.

If you've been on the guild chat these past few days, you're probably aware that I've had several issues requiring GM support in the past few days. Most recently I got this as a response:

Unfortunately, I can't update my drivers, as my computer relies on OEM drivers that haven't been updated through the entire life of my computer. If these issues persist I will not be able to play Spiral Knights regularly. As a precautionary measure, I have promoted Zerokk to the rank of Guild Master; in the event of my extended absence, he will manage the guild. I hope this won't be too much of an issue.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion.

Er, how do you already have 4 star?!

Am I really just that slow? And constantly making dumb swap decisions on everything I do like gunner gear, arc razor, bombing, planning on "versatile armor" which can potentially screw me over, and yes I ended up buying a drake scale helmet recipe, boosted plate shield, etc. I could've had all/near all my 5* gear by now if I didn't make a bunch of those mistakes.

I'm sharing the pain that Zerokk is, since apparently we chose the same sword line.
Basically, our swords require krogmo coins to obtain, which can only be obtained by playing the PvP.
The problem is, you're awarded one krogmo coin per game without the booster and two with it.
You are not awarded krogmo coins for being the winner.
What this means is that Zerokk and I will be stuck grinding krogmo coins forever.  Once I get my boltbrand, though, I'll have tier 3 certification.

I forgot that getting new gear became significantly easier since the update, due to star-seperated alchemy orbs that can appear by rare chance, but the seperation in general.

The full line of Voltedge, Triglav, and Plague Needle all take 300 Krogmo Coins at maximum, due to all the recipes. By now, I've spent 150 on both Shockburst Brandish and Boltbrand. I have 150 coins to go.

I feel your pain; I chose to buy a Troika specifically to evolve it into the Grintovec (Triglav line) because guaranteed 100% Freeze chance is better than any other sword in the game. Even the Gran Faust. Because screw the Lockdown meta.

I have a Krogmo Booster I don't really need that much though; if you don't feel like playing the market for Energy trades or buying the Energy yourself (with real money), I could always sell it to you directly. Or Zerokk. Probably Zerokk.

I'm still trying to find that darn Super Rock Salt recipe. :ugeek:

Actually, you should sell it to Thunder. Seeing as I'm mostly geared up for Lockdown, (Warmaster Rocket Hammer that I never even use, Duck Retribution or Boltbrand as an alternative, Vog Cub Coat, Vog Cub Cap assuming I get a Flame Soul, shields don't matter.) it'd be a smarter decision for him to use it.

Actually, it's significantly harder to get new gear, since instead of having completely reliable Mist Energy to craft things with, you have dropped orbs, which are so rare that finding one is a screenshot-worthy event. The star separation basically means you're forever doomed to have a handful of orbs you can't use for whatever reason.
    Title: GET DUNKED
Post by: Hallan Parva on August 07, 2013, 04:39:37 PM
I prefer the orbs, myself. Sure, you don't get 100 free "Energy" to burn on crafting, but then again you also don't have to worry about grinding your balls off to get enough Crownage to buy the other 700 from other players, or turn to spending the dreaded REAL MONEY instead. There's also the fact that Mist wasn't used for crafting half the time (unless you were already 5-Star, in which case what's the fucking POINT) since most players just burned through it for revives or elevator costs. The new orbs are rare drops, sure, but I always manage to find one after doing a boss run on Elite so it's not like finding one is the end of the world or anything. Even if you can't find one yourself, you still have the option to grind your balls off to get enough Crownage to buy orbs from other players, or trade in Energy obtained from REAL MONEY for the orbs you need.

In other words, I enjoy the new system of everything being free, and actually preferring the old Mist Energy system makes you just sound resilient to change. Really, you've managed to make a flaw for nearly every new feature in the megapatch, and you can't even keep them straight half the time. ("Stop playing on disabled orangutan mode"? Real funny once you get your ass handed to you in a freaking Deconstruction Zone of all things.)

Actually, I like mist removal. I just think that Three Rings got the balance on the replacement features wayyyy off, and that their crackdown on altdragging negatively impacted legitimate gameplay to an unacceptable degree. My hatred of the Forge was rather premature, however; I'm not having too much trouble heating my gear. The "mentally disabled orangutan" thing is partly a joke and partly my bafflement at why you would play on "Normal" when Advanced is both the standard difficulty and more profitable.

Normal is named normal because that was the only difficulty.  Advanced and elite were added, not normal and elite.

In addition, why the hell do you care?  Why can't I play on a difficulty I feel like playing on?  Do I need to morph my playstyle to match yours?

Sorry for the outburst but Jesus fucking Christ you're driving me insane

Actually, the patch notes (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/84873 (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/84873)) specifically refer to Advanced as the "normal" difficulty, equivalent to the game's difficulty prior to the patch. Also, your confusion above is exactly why I care. Normal has a reduced payout, and this game is all about the grind, so it's in your best interest to play on the most profitable difficulty you can stomach. If you can't stomach Advanced, then it's perfectly acceptable for you to play on Normal. I for one find Elite to be infuriating at times.

I care because I don't think people should grind their balls off if there's a better way.

If normal was the only one that existed to begin with, we probably wouldn't be crying as much.

And you're incorrect, Normal and Elite were added in. The game actually does say the Advanced is pretty much what older players are used to, while normal mode says it's easier than what older players are used to. I'm trying to get over my disliking for it, but I try to avoid it in general.

There's a psuedo-campaign in the form of the mission system. It's mostly rehashed Clockworks levels with some from-scratch levels mixed in. There's also four boss levelsets that show up in normal gameplay and have their own missions.

From everything I've read Blitz Needle is one of the best guns in the game, right next to Polaris and Drivers without cheating. (With cheating by spamming weapon switch, twin Alchemers outdamage every other weapon in the game.)

Same deal with armor, get Wolver or Chaos because dodging is easy enough that defense doesn't matter.

All of the needle weapons are very bad. Why? Because firing the gun roots you to the ground, as well as prevents you from changing the firing direction. Mobility is everything when gunning, and using a needle gun takes it away entirely.

    Except that:
    1. Most of what you'd care to use it on (everything in the Beast Family, Kats and Zombies, maybe weak Devilites too since they've been nerfed a bunch) is slow and stupid enough to leave openings where you can attack them with relative safety. And if you can't find an opening, you can make one with a freeze bomb.
    2. Not being able to change your facing doesn't matter much when you can just jam it up your enemies' butts to make sure that all the bullets hit. (This is quite similar to the Super Shotgun, which is also disgustingly overpowered because it's way too easy to make most of the bullets hit.)

That is why you do normal clockwork runs. danger rooms/arenas= more boxes/orbs/crystals

Those orbs were nice, but now I'm going to need upwards of, what, 1000 Shining Fire Crystals?

I constantly forget that I have a Volatile Catalyzer recipe for Galactan-Waruigi (I'm assuming it's a temporary joke name because he hasn't changed it on steam?) in exchange for 10,000 crowns and whenever I remember it, he's offline.

Oh, and this is a drill. (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/89860)

    It is however, awesome.

I learned of the update before Manibogi posted about it.

Phantamos sounds like a Shadow/Curse gun, Gilded Griffin sounds like a Piercing Antigua, Winter Grave sounds like a Shadow/Freeze Magnus, and the Grim Repeater sounds like a Shadow Autogun.

Also, the entire update post is filled with puns. Beware.

inb4 Blitz Needle isn't nerfed. Also, the social media accounts for SK have posted some rather interesting teaser photos:

There is no way my Drill weapon suggestion could've made it, so I'l assume that's a background thing.

    In fact, it's probably the Skylark: https://twitter.com/SpiralKnights/statu ... 3110629376 (https://twitter.com/SpiralKnights/status/388000923110629376)

Does this mean the game is ending? Will you be able to run around with a mini-Skylark on your shoulder? Who knows?

All right, in case you didn't know already, most of the new guns (according to Three Rings not having the slightest clue what information security is) are probably going to be part of a Pulsar (or maybe Polaris) branch. Start farming Bark Modules now.

I'm sure you fellas just noticed that new update eating your bandwidth

yeah so they're implementing the arcade redux but not all at once

So right now we get random themes for gates
and a material finder that tells us the most abundant mineral in a statum
and a cutscene showing the skylark crash for new knights
and no more tier clearance gates(???)

But yeah lots of stuff here so go check out the not-me edition here. (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/91052)

Spiral Knights seems to have become the new flavor of the month. Stuff happened.

I suppose the most noticeable change involved the guild. Cutstuff was suffering from a lack of activity. Naturally, it wound up in default. With so few of us to pay the enormous upkeep, Thunder, Spikeboy, Jman, Caprice, and myself left Cutstuff and joined a new guild, Embermist Scavengers, which Ceridran joined ahead of us. The fare is manageable, only 500CR a week. The sole reason we failed to keep Cutstuff afloat is the upkeep. Personally I feel it should be removed entirely.

Many of us have 5-star certification, and a major shift in playstyles occurred. Thunder went from shock specialist to striker, Caprice seems to have become a shadow mixed attacker, and I've gone from freeze specialist to guardian. Jman's gunslinging fleshes out the group nicely. Caprice and I have yet to get 5-star certification, but it's just within my grasp. Heat amplifiers are serious help.

Hey you people should play sometime that would be cool.

I sold all my stuff and shot the crowns torward a new account, where I also function as a Guardian.

I'd appreciate some support in pushing for tradable rarity drops. (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/98459)

I strongly doubt that restriction will ever be removed. Tradable rarities would result in high level players grinding huge amounts of lower level rarities for resale, and more importantly, means players can circumvent grinding by purchasing materials that don't find their way back to supply depot purchases.  :ugeek:

I held on for a while, but I think I burned myself out as well. All the guild is doing lately are Firestorm Citadel runs. Though I did get 5* certification and soloed Firestorm Citadel for Vanguard. After all the hell I went through, though, I missed the recon module I was supposed to get.

And changed my playstyle once again. Guardian is fun, but I perform well with standard-issue weapons: Leviathan Blade, Valiance, and Nitronome. I'm also pursuing three different armor lines: Royal Jelly, Grey Feather, and Dread Skelly. It helps to have that sort of coverage. Since I have that stuff, I take zip damage from attacks that would ordinarily wreck my shit. I can safely play exclusively on elite now.

I also got my hands on a White Battle Chef set and dot eyes. Though it was an unintended side effect, I am now Other Biscotti.

I only played this alot on the SK Birthday event. When I got my permanent cake hat, I was playing the game much less. Eventually just faceplanted.

Though one of my reasons is that I just can't run Spiral Knights anymore, wine crashes.
