Pointless.
If you want to clean up your act, do so as a state.
I don't see what splitting into two will accomplish.

Not only that, but it will cost billions in the long run to change everything.
Tax code, police, news, signs, buildings, etc...

You keep the same 9 rows as it is on the current flag. The pattern would just be 6 rows with 6 stars and 3 rows with 5. Maybe...

But that's beside the point. They're doing this so they can have a Republican state. One thing that does come out of it for them is the possibility of taking quite a few electoral votes away from California as well since they'll take a third of the population with them.
