Q: (AkuKnives) Ooooh, I have a question! The Battle Network Series was of course, highly focused on the internet, but the games themselves weren't really capable of going online.
Now that wifi is something that is widely available as opposed to 10 years ago, even our handheld consoles can go online. Were there any directions you would've liked to take the series, but couldn't due to the technology at the time, that you could perhaps do now?
With applications like FourSquare and Facebook check-ins using location data, an Online Battle System could also use location information in interesting ways to automatically generate some pretty interesting online battle environments. Any thoughts?
A: (Eguchi) We did have Wi-Fi battles in Mega Man Starforce, but it is something we had always wanted to do with Battle Network as well. We also had some other ideas, like an online MMO where people’s Navis could commune. I also used to dream of having a real-life Navi like Mega Man in Battle Network, that people could really communicate with.

Q: (Suraida-chan) Even with the ending at MMBN6, did you guys still wish you could continue on with the series? After all there's still plenty of Robot Masters that have yet to have navi versions.
A: (Eguchi) Of course I wish we could continue! Of course, if we ever do have the opportunity to make a sequel, technology and times have changed, so it would probably be more of a new, evolved property than a direct sequel. As for now, we’re hard at work on Legends 3!

Just, i don't understand why they stopped the serie, after MMBN 6! Maybe to sell all the games and goodies with the years? There was again a lot of new goodies of Rockman EXE in 2008-2010 on ebay and others website!
Keep hope! I'm sure, this serie is liked by Capcom, they just took a break for me!
Its the blog post I posted on the blog but capcom must moderate the blog posts, need time to approval, but you can go on the forum to post!

They ended the Battle Network series because 6 ended the plot.
Just because Mother 3 was loved, it doesn't mean they'll make a Mother 4.
-
And? They made Rockman EXE OSS, im sure they can do a game like a EXE Tournament, without storyline or the story 20 years after exe 6, a new serie is possible, yes.
-
They made a new series. It's called Starforce. Battle Network ended.
-
Star Force is 200 years after EXE 6 ! We can have a lot of stories before the 200 years. And we can have a special story like OSS or a Tournament like 4,5 or Chip Stadium.
EXE is not over. Guys, you didnt read my message about Eguchi, right?
-
I personally never saw ANY fun in EXE. It was more of a hassle to play than anything.
-
It's good if you're good at it.
If you're bad at it, you're stuck with the same 30 shitty chips for the whole game.
-
If you are a hater, just dont post in this topic please...i don't like specially Legend but im solidary with the Legend serie, because we need too a Megaman Next Gen, not only old school.

This is the fifth time you've done this.
You've raised EXE so high that when someone says "It's good, but ZX is better" you demote their opinions with no evidence.
And let me cut you off here:
Sales don't mean anything.
Elite Beat Agents was a fantastic game, but it sold HORRIBLY in everywhere that isn't Japan.
And it wasn't even released in Japan.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I'm charging you for dem. 10 cents a letter.

It wasnt a topic to say "EXE beat the world", its just a topic to show my group on capcom unity....I know, you dont like me because i dont like MMZ/ZX but i just did the topic for the EXE fans, not others.
EDIT: "Sales don't mean anything.", For you maybe but for Capcom?...
EXE 4 who is not a favorite was sold more than 1300 000 in the world in the first year.
-
May I request you remove the sales from the first post, then?
-
With Nuy, you try to kill the topic ; )
Im happy, the news i put on the group are accepted by Capcom moderator. =)

Personally i'd kinda like to see more MMBN games. Though i doubt it will ever happen.
Right now im playing Network Transmission on a GC emulator and i must say that thats a game of which i'd like to see more aswell.
My only hope of a new game in that universe pretty much the ChronoX team ;)

Will all due respect Ivory, I personally think the Starforce series ended too.

I never hated Battle Network cause at the time it was something different from the Classic series. Albeit it wasn't my favorite series, but I gave it a chance and came to the conclusion that it wasn't bad ((I mean crap. . .I bought the Manga of Battle network, that much I'll admit)). I will say that the games just haven't really drawn me in to make me addicted. The only time I'll play a Battle network game is when I'm bored and want to continue from a past file of mine that I never bothered completing XD. Really the only thing that kept me from going further was how bland most of the areas look and the repetitiousness of battles that aren't normally fun, and some puzzles gimmicks that I found rather pointless and boring ((Swimming to re-collect the fish data in the Aquarium is a good example)) and it seems to continue again once you gain access to another area on the net.
Course most could say this for about other RPGs, but something about Battle network's setup never sat in my stomach well. It's a shame cause I'm a big fan of customization, especially anything card-like related, but I suppose it depends on what. I will say Network Transmission was the ONLY Battle network game that I would always go back to play because of how well the Classic and BN concepts mesh together, course some bosses have really cheap attacks and should have been given nerfs at least but eh. . .
I'll admit though that somewhere deep inside I have some slight lingering animosity with this series on how as of this generation, it's looked upon as. . .well how can I say it. . . like Battle Network was the original Mega Man from the get-go and it's the only series that they're aware of without most of them even looking at it's Catalyst. But that's just me. I just don't want these kids going around with the mindset that one thing coming out is a new idea when it originated from somewhere else without doing some research, but this too is just normal I suppose. . .
