Title: Old forum error thread
Post by: novaxdruid on August 08, 2011, 02:53:21 AM
I keep getting an error when I go to the W.I.P. Progress threads. Here is what it gives when I try to access it.

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Table 's' is marked as crashed and should be repaired [1194]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

Just wanted you to know is all.

We're aware, but we can't do anything about it. Mike needs to do stuff I'm betting, but I haven't seen him about today yet.
Meanwhile, go blame Korby for releasing the MM&B Demo

Sorry for double post, but there's another topic named "Forum Error" that has the same error D:

FIX THIS BEFORE IT TAKES OVER THE WHOLE FORUM

Sorry about abducting your thread, but it seemed like the best idea for one single error report thread. If there is any "error' problems with the forums, please report them here. Mike isn't here right now, but it's best to report them here so he has everything in one thread.

I'm not sure what the problem is or how it occurred. I have no idea how big or small the issue is, or how easy it is to fix. Hopefully it's something simple Mike can fix, but meanwhile, like I said before, any problems goes here.

Sorry, I did not notice this topic and went and did one. Thanks to Ivory for locking it. Anyway, I posted the problem in it, and so as to not repeat myself, here it is:

http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3144

As you can see in the topic, NovaX is not the only one having this issue.

No, I had this issue before as well.

I hope it isn't a virus or something.

Oh, the irony.
I'm trying to read Mr. Joe's error topic, and I'm getting the error.
So yeah, this is probably happening to at least one page on this forum for everyone, it's probably no big deal.

I've purged the cache, logged in users and post counts to see if it rattles the problem out. If the problem persists post here again, but I'll have to investigate tomorrow.

Tried seeing the page described in my topic again, and now it displays fine. Haven't encountered the error elsewhere in the site so far, either. If I do, I'll edit this post. Thanks, Cutty!

I and a lot of other users have been getting large amounts of "General Error"s when browsing the forums just recently. They're seemingly random.

My connection to the forums is usually superb, but about ten minutes ago this error started showing up:

Code: [Select]
General Error

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (12) [2002]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

It's been plaguing me rather often now, popping up every 2 to 5 page flips (on average). I don't know how it started, what caused it, or how to fix it, all I know is that it's annoying and it won't stop.

EDIT: The error popped up when I tried posting this. I guess the forum doesn't want me to get it in trouble

I haven't encountered an error yet. Note that now and again I do have to restart my VPS because the minecraft server occasionally breaks down randomly, but it's not too frequently I have to do that.

After around 5-10 refreshes, it usually goes through. Because of that, pardon my potential dectuple post

Jeez Louise, there's about 6 errors every time I even CHANGE the page. I'm worried about breaking my F5 key from mashing it so much. If there's anything, ANYTHING at all you can do to fix the forum (even if we have to use a crappy temp forum like before) then for the love of god DO IT NOW.

Well. There is such a thing as just doing something else until it's fixed. It's not as if you have to be here all the time.

Anyways, I'm unsure of the exact situation or cause. Mike hasn't responded to me yet.

It was either something was spamming our POP3 stuff, not sure if it was an attack or some kind of malfunction but it appears to be fixed now.

Well. I'm going to lock this thread. Seeing as I just hijacked for issues that occurred last time. I'll start up a proper error report thread at a later date.
