Title: Games that you dislike that everyone else likes.
Post by: Trollman on August 29, 2011, 10:49:51 PM
Post here those games that everyone but you liked.

I start:
Minecraft (I don't actually hate it, it's boring for me).
Mario Kart Wii (terrible control is terrible).
Earthbound (I found it boring, I don't hate it)
LoZ: Majora's Mask (A time limit is OK for a level, not for beating the entire game and HAVING TO RESTART ALL OVER AGAIN if you are about to run out of time)

Rules:
Don't flame someone that posted a game that you really loved, that isn't the point of the thread.

Mega Man 2, Kirby, Touhou, Super Metroid, Mario Galaxy and 64, Spyro 3, Mega Man Battle Network Series, Resident Evil, Sonic (ALL of them), and most of the Pokemon games.

Seriously, this topic is going to turn into bashing and protecting games faster than you can say (Insert generically hated game here) .

Meh, all those things like Grand theft auto, those gritty first person shooters like Call of Duty and Gears of War, Shadow The Hedgehog, stuff like that. I'm not really into all of that.  :|

I just realized that I misread the topic title. My bad. That or it was edited

I can't think of any game I have played that I really "hate," but I did not enjoy Final Fantasy VII as much as everyone else apparently did.

Same here.  Don't really see what the appeal of all of those games are... Story/Music I what I really play for in games.

inb4 everyone tells me off and I wind up dead the next day

Also, Kapus, I feel the same way about FFVII  :geek:
Title: Re: Games that you hate that everyone else likes.
Post by: SmashTheEchidna on August 30, 2011, 02:26:46 AM
Indeed. Storywise, they MIGHT be somewhat interesting, but I never bothered to even look into them. I can take playing a dark game (Final fantasy tactics is actually pretty dark, and I play that all the time.) but when it's all gritty, gory, all about big guns and chainsaws and all that crap, it really doesn't appeal to me. I'm also not really interested in military games, for the most part.

Also, in terms of music, The music is part of what gives the game it's overall feel. Games like Mario or Kirby have their cheerful, lighthearted style, sometimes dramatic when necessary, and overall appealing to nearly everyone. But games like the aforementioned FPS and whatnot, they tend to have hard rock/heavy metal, if any music at all. And it generally sounds like noise. I really can't play a game with that kind of music.

Huh, I was gonna post Link to the Past as mine.

Also, Kirby's Epic Yarn.  CONSISTENT GOD MODE

I'd say games like CoD and stuff but apparently everyone here hates them so that defeats the purpose now

Well, in terms of gameplay, out of the games I've played the one thing I can really think of is Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The battle system just didn't seem as fun as the first game's...

EDIT: Holy crap, this is my lucky 777th post! Awesome!

I can't really think of anything....other than CoD. I don't see why I'd have to play it if I have a better game with a better community that is a FPS thing.

There aren't many games that I hate.

I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy series (for the 99% part) but one game I hate that some people seem to like is Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. The plot seems like a bad RPG Maker game.
It literally begins on a mountain. An old man talks to you. You fight something, then he says you are the chosen one for killing something.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was intended for a sort of "Beginner's game" to that type of RPG games. I wouldn't say it's that great either, but it has its own slight charm (plus absolutely kickass music).

Call of Duty.
Final Fantasy VII and VIII. (I honestly can't stand when people adore 7 and 8 but detest the earlier games before even trying them. It makes me ashamed that I like 4, 5, and 6.)
Ocarina of Time.
Metroid Prime 3. (Terrible for a Metroid game, ok-ish for a game on its own.)
That's all I can think of right now. There aren't many games I dislike.

I hate to jump on the Cod hate bandwagon, but I played it and desperately tried to like it.
But I lost total interest, and just started playing doom again.

And Halo 3 was good, but Reach? The campaign is so dull in comparison to Halo 3. So I
just started playing Halo 3 again.

I played MW2 at a friends house.
"Where's the music?"
(beat)
"Uh... what music?"
"WHAT?!"

I mean, wow, holy jesus, I couldn't like the game if I tried. The rudimentary elements are fine but for me playing a game would be like watching an animated cartoon in greyscale. Or reading a book that was unformatted. It's just... incomplete for my personal tastes.

(side note: Lulz at Majora's Mask being "liked by everyone". That game's following here is unusual. Sort of like how outside of here, Mega Man 2 is actually the best Mega Man game ever.)

As for Final Fantasy, I tried FFVI and lost patience with its non-linearity early on, actually, although I had been losing interest at turn-based RPGs at this point.

Personally, I found that 2D sonic games failed to meet the hype. After enjoying Adventure 2 and hearing repeatedly "the 2D games were so much better" I didn't really see it, unless camera issues were so bad to people playing the 3D ones. (Also, I despise Genesis music. >.>)

Probably a first, but I despise Mega Man Legends. (More than MM5, actually.)

Heh now why would you hate GVH? (Though i can understand its probaly harder then most DM mods, requiring more knowlege and practise then just move, move, shoot, kill, collect, and so on. :P)
Edit: Oh, and many people hate Creepers too, though thats understandable why, hehe...

As to be on topic, i guess you could call it a game... I cant ever seem to enjoy AOW (All Out War, an ST mod) due to the damn weapon BUYING system (BUYING!? In a FPS GAME!? What happened to simply picking them up!? Whats so wrong about that???).
I hear Obelisks are a real pain in the ass too.

CounterStrike - Oh yay, I filled your head with 5 shots, yet you kill me with 2 because one was a headshot......that hit my foot.
Call of Whatever - Didn't know you had to scope from 4 ft away from your target in order to hit it.
GCN and Wii Mario Kart - Hey, I know...let's remove any skill from the game and instead add more game breaking items!
Smash Bros Brawl - The designers must have not heard of game balance.  Some moves are completely broken.  It's one of the only console games that I know of that has spawned multiple mod projects to fix the balance.

A lot of people think GvH is unbalanced.
About AOW2... It's too mecha-based. Why would I buy weapons when I can spam orcas? Well... anyway I get a lot of these "your skill is not enough". But I still find that mod a bit funny.

The only redeeming factor of AoW to me is that new kamikaze class.
Aside from that, it's pretty much impossible for me to enjoy with it's terrible balance.
Title: Re: Games that you hate that everyone else likes.
Post by: CarThief on October 06, 2011, 01:26:19 PM
Hm, yes i did hear one class with picking up the right weapon is basically a mobile base of its own with self healing, self-regenerating ammo, etc. Havent heard about any others specifically, aside hearing the balance is generally bad.

If you ask me the balance in GVH while not perfect isnt too bad at all. Should have seen the start of GVH, hehe... Hunters never holding their arrows where never slown down, lightning arrows did over 100 damage, ice arrows and riotguns where alot stronger, in one update the riotgun got tremendously strong and right after nerfed. Oh well i'm the one managing its balance, bugs etc now so feel free to send me any details about it. Though probaly better in a PM then derailing the topic. :P

Hm, being on topic again... Never did like jumpmazes. Great fun to see your friend do em though, and yell things at them to jinx them or if you got rcon the odd change of gravity, hehe... Ah fun times messing with Ammar on those things. No fun to play myself though, its all trial and error, not my kind of thing.

Edit: When i gave it a try the only things that looked worth buying in AOW where mechs, i mean, just buying a weapon so you die and lose it... Whats the point? Heck, if you bought a strong weapon they can just take it from you and use it against your team. While realistic, it is annoying, i'll bet.

This. I can't get into them, it's overly simplistic, slow, and the formula is kind of boring for me.

I used to have one (Crytsal) and I got 10 badges. It was way too boring and it felt like a chore. I saw a bunch of other Pokemon games from people in the neighborhood and in schools and they looked like the same thing. Crystal is one of the few games I don't regret selling/losing.

BTW I mean this for any pokemon, not just the new ones.

Not that i hate the generic Pokemon games but after playing like 3 games, the formula gets rather repetetive, not to mention over half are clones of other games, wether fitted with new graphics or outright clones with minor changes (I.E a 'red' and a 'blue' version). Sometimes they kick in a third clone based on both the previous uh, clones?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was a nice refreshing concept, but even that fell to the repetive curse Pokemon seems doomed to have. Oh well, whatever suits people.

Cant really think of a game suitable to the topic, except the NS modification to GVH. But i wont bother with an explanation here, it would fill and derail the topic (most likely). :P

Meh, I hate it too. The story (at least Zero's) is WAY too dark, even for Megaman X, and the final boss is ridiculous. I mean, seriously, I can beat Megaman X6, no problem, but I haven't beaten X4's final boss yet. Oh, BTW, I love X6, and I don't care what anyone else says. In fact, it was the first game I ever beat. I'm sadist, I know.

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to games but one game that A LOT of my friends like that I just can't stand is League of Legends. Oh and its not like I didn't try to play it, and I saw a good game under the surface, hell even a great game. I enjoyed playing with friends for a time. Then I kinda wanted to expand my horizon....boy was I wrong to do so. The community was extremely unwelcoming to me, if I did one slight "wrong" thing, they would chew me out. I just got sick of it, I played for fun and not competition and apparently nobody let me do that. But again, I did see a fun game under the surface so do I "hate" the game itself? No. Just the community ruined it for me.

People are being dead serious about what i hear is an game where you make your own comic book character...? Based on various comic books and whatnot as area, characters and potentially story? I'm guessing its an MMO(RPG) game of sorts?

Does remind me of World of Warcraft... I guess they can get quite serious there, too.

Trying to be a little on-topic, i suppose i never did like All Out War (AOW) on Skulltag too much either, but im not sure if i mentioned this before in here. Buying stuff seems futile, unless its an mech or an technological advancement to a mech. They cant steal your mech when you die, unlike weapons, a few classes/weapons might be worth it but i always serverly disliked the BUYING weapons in shooters (not the RPG-ish kind with a story, of course it starts slow and you get bigger money and guns later, if not as drops, I.E: Fallout.), its an outright sacrilege to have to buy proper weapons in a fast-paced non-RPG shooter of sorts! And a servere slowdown too...

I agree with you there. AOW was just boring to me. I never really understood why people liked it so much. So I just stuck with playing GvH and then MM8BDM.

Ah, i can understand people liking the typical red fortress vs blue fortress gameplay with all the bells and whistles of break this, or advance that, or reinforce this. I'd dig it if it werent for the buying of EVERYTHING. Technology? Sure, giant mechs? Of course! Classes and weapons? Why cant they be free after unlocking them in some tech advancement or something?? Might require some extra rebalancing but it would make it less tedious, pick your favourite (if available) class and jump right in! Just like GVH!

It just seems futile to spend money on most things if they're not a upgrade on a building/technology or a mech. No idea how they're having fun draining their money by buying classes and having their weapons stolen by the enemy on death, but whatever works for people.

And if that video succesfully loads, its a pretty funny video, even if one does not play World of Warcraft(WoW), raids are pretty serious business, and back in the day had FOURTY PEOPLE at once, so expect alot of failure, miscommunication and deaths, even better if they got voice chat, hehe...

Fallout: New Vegas. Maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance, but I honestly just gave up after an hour of gameplay. The whole desert setting just felt bland, the radio wasn't worth listening to, and V.A.T.S. feels like the only way to get shots on your opponents. I landed a few shots by just aiming down my sights, but V.A.T.S. felt more convenient and easier.

Hate is a strong word... but I really just don't like Super Mario Sunshine. The added element of water and cleaning just really took away from what I loved about the original 3d mario game, Super Mario 64. This is one reason I liked the challenge levels where you couldn't use the water, because it made you go through the level without cheating through the use of the hover nozzle.

I never did understand why the Zelda fan base has a collective boner over Ocarina of Time. Sure, the game was great for its time, and compared to several other games of the period it's stood up well against the test of time even without Nostalgia Glasses, but is it the BEST game? Honestly, I sincerely doubt it. Sure, some parts of OoT were pretty great (inside Jabu-Jabu, breaking out of the ranch with Epona, whoever composed Bolero of Fire) but others just felt rusty (Forest Temple's gimmick, the desert scene where you have to follow the flags, the fishing minigame) or annoying (Navi telling you things from the beginning of the game just before you go to fight Ganon, THE WATER TEMPLE).

If it wasn't for the part of the game where you have to fish up the Triforce and go pay Tingle obscene amounts of Rupees, my favorite game would be The Wind Waker. Sure, the island-hopping mechanic might have turned off a few people, but I rather enjoyed it. It made the different areas feel more diverse and fresh, and though a few islands were somewhat useless, most areas had their own event or town or what-have-you that made revisits worth the trip.

Nocturne of Shadow. Whoever composed that one deserves a whole bucket of biscuits. I usually play that one at the same speed as the game does because of how baus it is.

If there's certain game that I somewhat dislike....I'm beginning to turn towards modern mario games. And as someone who's been a really big fan of them for many years, that should say something about it. It's the lack of difficulty. As a challenge seeker in gaming, they simply don't satisfy that need at all anymore. It only too me a few months to beat Super Mario Land 3D and Mario Kart 7 100%, and now there's pretty much nothing to do on those games, leaving me with only SF643D to play. I'm probably going to pass on New Super Mario Bros. 2 because I just KNOW it will be way too easy for me.

It was Super Mario Galaxy 2 onwards when I realized the above. Plz nintendo, take challenge seekers gamers into account.

I adore the Zelda series but I agree with Smash. Ocarina of Time isn't that great at all. I don't get why most Zelda fans claim it's hands down better than any other Zelda game out there. Or that it's the best game EVER.
Ocarina of Time is at the bottom of my list, honestly. Right under Wand of Gamelon.

Anyway, on topic: Final Fantasy 7 and League of Legends
Having played through FF7, I didn't get sucked in at all. I was bored the entire time.

I'm going to go the obvious route and say:

Call of Duty.

The entire. freaking. series.

There's effectively 5 weapons with various slightly-altered stat layouts, the gameplay is incredibly straightforward, and anything more complex than "go to area X, point cursor at enemy, push button" is practically nonexistent.

And every couple of versions they throw in a co-op "vs. Zombies" mode with a couple gimmicks that are only there to attempt to make the "go to area X, point cursor at enemy, push button" slightly more interesting.

Sorry, I probably should have specified:

The modern Call of Duty games are what tick me off the most.
I don't quite have as much experience with the older ones.

Also, I should probably say some games that aren't CoD since modern CoD seems to be unanimously hated here:
> Starcraft II. I like everything about it... except the fact that your worker spawn flow being off by one second means instant death. Seriously, game designers?
> Street Fighter (specifically, Street Fighter IV). I shouldn't have to train for five hours straight just to get a simple three-move combo down. Especially when the only thing keeping me from said combo is the fact that the moves don't combo that way, despite the game telling me they do.

One set of games I really can't stand is Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

No, it's not because the games are hard. I like a good challenge.

It's because the game (Demon's particularly) is about unfair challenges. An enemy is stronger than you, so it kills you. You know what happens when you die on that game? THE ENEMIES GAIN POWER.

How am I supposed to get better at it when they enemies keep powering up. Sheesh. Other than that, the games really just bore me.

I know I'm digging this up a bit, but I didn't really see it until now.  Let me just say that Ocarina of Time (3D) is my personal favorite Zelda game, and I know it's not with nostalgia goggles because, well, I never really played the game through until last year.  Why do I think it's the best?  Simple: It's the only 3D Zelda game with no flaws that are severe enough for me to stop playing the game out of annoyance/boredom.

Majora's Mask is my least favorite 3D Zelda (and qualifies for me for this topic as I honestly can say I really don't like it) due to collection crap like the Zora Eggs and that it basically forces you to do long drawn out side quests to get anywhere halfway decently in the main story (it's not a SIDE quest if you're basically forced to do it).  I don't like this because I tend to use side quests as a way to continue the game after I beat the main story.  Speaking of side quests, the whole time thing ends up being more of a problem than a blessing with many of the quests.  While I like the idea of having side quests that have alternate endings, they don't take the idea far enough.  For example, with the Anju and Kafei thing, you basically have to do the entire thing twice because there's a letter at the very end that you have to deliver to two separate people.  Instead of a slight shift near the very end, why not have alternate paths through the quest that radically change it?  Also, the dungeons are probably the worst in the series.  ESPECIALLY Great Bay Temple which I will go to my grave saying is worse than the Water Temple.

Wind Waker has a much better time...until you hit the Triforce Hunt.  Really, what more needs to be said?

Twilight Princess just drags horrendously until about the 4th dungeon.  After that, it's pretty awesome.

Skyward Sword has the same collection crap as Majora's Mask, only 50 times worse.  HOWEVER, I still like it better because the side quests aren't as important and the dungeons are far and beyond the best in the series.

Ocarina has none of these critical flaws.  BUT BUT BUT WATER TEMPLE!  I agree, it's kind of lame, but it still doesn't take THAT much longer than the other temples.

Completely fixed in the 3DS rendition. No more of that annoying, constant pausing of the game to put the Iron Boots on. It hacks off a lot of the time.
Title: Re: Games that you dislike that everyone else likes.
Post by: Mr. X on August 19, 2012, 05:34:48 AM
I wouldn't say completely:  part of the dungeon's problem is that it puts locked doors at the end of annoying rooms.  Since the dungeon is ridiculously unlinear (in this case, a bad thing), I'd often find myself taking a few minutes to traverse a room, get to a locked door, swear, and then take a few minutes going back through said room so I can get the key to go back through said room YET AGAIN to continue the dungeon.

Personally, I didn't mind the tedious application and removal of the Iron Boots. The hardest part was underwater combat, hands down. I wanted to punch something every time I ended up in a room or a hallway with an enemy, knowing the only way to defeat it was with the damnable Hookshot.

Other than that, the Water Temple wasn't all that bad.

Kirby's Dreamland was the first one, actually.  Kirby's Adventure came afterward.

Don't hate me, but I never really enjoyed A Link to the Past. I grew up with 3d zelda so the structure of the top down was weird. It was hard to know where to go and just generally kinda frustrating. It gets so much praise, but frankly I don't see it.

And Minecraft. It's a nifty game that I may play everyone once in a while, But I just don't see why people just get so obsessed with it. With all them Youtube commentators milking the hell out of it, I really don't find it hugely interesting. It's fun to build shit and mess around, but that's really it.

For me, all the Zelda games excluding Link's Awakening, and the first game if it's on an emulator and I have a map. Why I like Link's Awakening is due to growing up with that one.

I can play them, but there will always be a point where I just get bored, the one exception

Sonic Colors, for a couple reasons.

The only other exposure to modern Sonic gameplay I've had is the Sonic Unleashed daytime stages. In comparison to that and the gameplay I've watched of Sonic Generations, it felt as if it relied too heavily on 2D platforming sections.

Wisps felt really gimmicky. I just don't enjoy using them much, since half of the game forces you to use them to proceed.

Lastly, most of the game is eye-candy. It really took away from the game itself.

Post by: Hallan Parva on September 29, 2012, 02:21:27 AM
The only one I really hated was the Orange Wisp. It was boring and shoehorned into every possible vertical segment ever.

The Blue Wisp was cool at first, but I hated when the game turned into Super Mario P-Switch Paradise. It's more like a "half-hate".
Title: Re: Games that you dislike that everyone else likes.
Post by: Mr. X on September 29, 2012, 02:56:12 AM
Yeah, I still like Colors, but the fact that it's basically a 2D game with 3D sections annoys me to no end (it really doesn't help that Planet Wisp in Sonic Generations amplifies this problem by 10).  And yeah, I'm not a fan of the cube wisp or the spikes wisp.

I cannot even begin to explain how much a cannot stand that game series AT ALL. Every little aspect about it right down to the dumb history remakes and the music just upsets me to no end. And I swear everyone I know just loves the series.

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Yeah, I sort of dislike DKCR too.

Mainly because it doesn't FEEL like the 3 SNES DKCs (which I think are amazing), and is therefore undeserving of it's DKC title.

FUN FACT: Donkey Kong Country Returns is just called Donkey Kong Returns in Japan.

Is there a " Games that you like that everyone else dislikes." topic?

you can save your soul from eternal sin if you say you enjoyed Star Force :ugeek:

one of BN's biggest flaws was the bullshit alpha code system and how you had to exploit the crap out of it (and break the game) if you wanted to not suck completely, and honestly I felt like Star Force took a large part of that problem out of the equation with its grid-based card draws and the concept of White Cards

To be frank I can at least understand why. They're very complicated and different games and not many people outside of the diehard Mega Man fanbase seem to be willing to make the change. I personally love them.

On the other hand I don't like Super Mario 3D Land much at all. It lacks the acrobatic skill that made the Sunshine and Galaxy games so unique, the game controls like shit because of the over-sensitive circle pad, and the power-ups don't feel well implemented at all.

I don't like Maplestory, but that's mostly due to the ultra repetitive gameplay that exists to waste your time.

-FF2 NES is fantastic. FF6 is almost as good. FF1 is tedious but alright. FF7 is only playable for two hours or so until it goes downhill so far that i stopped playing it (the fact that the version released in Germany is a trainwreck in terms of translation doesn't help either ... and my aversion against PS1/N64/Saturn 3D graphics).
-I also absolutely hate Valis. All the games in the series are just unplayable. The controls are horrible. And I am not interested in how fanservicey Yuuko is. But for some reason many people like them.
-Gradius V is a piece of garbage compared to 2(both Arcade and NES), 3(SNES), Gaiden and even Nemesis 3 MSX and I have no idea why people consider it the best Gradius game ever. Treasure does make some good games, but Gradius V is not one of them.
-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is tedious and the music hurts my ears. It sounds like they made NES music but used SNES instruments. I seriously can not like that game ( nd I even got to the 8th dungeon of the dark world).
-NES Mario games. The controls are slippery and unprecise. I'll stick to the SNES games and the ones after that. Allstars unfortunately is just as unplayable.

EDIT: Command & Conquer Red Alert 1 is the weakest of the first four C&C games imo. It just lacks personality for me (Tib. Dawn has Kane and Seth, Tib. Sun has Slavik and the overall dark atmosphere and Red Alert 2 is just so amazingly cheesy). I never play it unlike the others.

I'll say it right now... Yume Nikki.
Now, I don't dislike it, per se, but I'll be honest, it just bored me senseless. I got it, thinking that it would a super creepy suspense fest, but ehh, only a little. The rest of it's just wandering around aimlessly for half an hour while checking out the bizarre sights.

That being said, at the time, I didn't know the different faces had powers that I could activate with the number keys until much later, so that kinda sucked.

And to be fair, the game is more of an interesting experience than an outright scarefest, or proper game or whatever.
Plus, it is actually pretty bloody creepy at times. But it's just... more weird than creepy for the most part.
That and playing it straight after finishing Ib probably left my expectations a little too high, so that probably wasn't a good idea on my part. Oh wellz.

So yeah, it seems like a very interesting thing, but it ain't quite up my alley, I'm afraid.
Well, save for this guy. He should've probably been a Hale, or something.

stuff about yume nikki
from your description of it being mostly weird and not being a game but an experience, it sounds like earthbound.

also, most 3d sonic games I never liked, mostly for their voice acting and control. I can't stand the characters or the majority of the fanbase, and the levels bore me to death. I never saw the appeal in them honestly.
Title: Re: Games that you dislike that everyone else likes.
Post by: VGS2 on February 19, 2013, 01:47:47 AM
Well I suppose it can be, but Earthbound's more of a game that is also an interesting experience. It's a somewhat conventional RPG that has a goal, a story and a large level of turn-based action.

Yume Nikki is more like a random events kinda thing where there's no real objection in mind, aside from collecting those powerups.
You walk around, look at the odd sights, try to interact with 'em, and check out what's changed from last time. So yeah, I suppose it's kinda like that LSD Dream Emulator game on the Playstation, but in 2D.

I dunno, man. At least Earthbound lets me go and beat shit up. I spent almost half an hour in Yume Nikki just exploring the same room wondering where to go, which gets dull for me.

Im not sure if the first one counts but:

Skyrim because of the fact that you play a demigod who is basically unkillable when you obtain the right shouts (Marked for Death is broken) compared to the other TES games like Morrowind, Daggerfall and Oblivion. Skyrim feels dumbed down and too easy compared to the other games in the series.

Super Mario Bros. 2 USA (the Doki Doki Panic one) ITS NOT MARIO!!!!1 is all I have to say about it.

Personally, I disagree entirely. SMB2 USA did way more for the series than the real SMB2 (lost levels) did. That one was basically just a cheap hard mode expansion pack. SMB2 USA introduced Shyguys, Snifits, Birdo, Bob-ombs, cemented Luigi's primary differences, Peaches ability to float, etc. All sorts of new material that became standard for the series.

It's almost (but not enirely) the same kind of story as Link's Awakening:

1. Some event takes a turn for the worse. (In Mario's case, it was curiosity.)
2. Arrive in a new, yet bizzare, world.
3. Adventure.
4. Defeat/Kill the game's Big Bad.
5. Win the game.
6. Wake up.
7. Gaze into the sky/wait until sequal to see what was seen in the bizzare world physcially appear in reality.
8. Question if what happened was a dream or not.

Meanwhile, back on topic.

I don't care for games that have online multiplayer. Modern FPS games, Co-op games, even those indie games (besides Minecraft.) I blame myself for being a completionist with the X360 Achievements.

Now see,

I don't mind online play if it's actually something fun and new (like Kid Icarus Uprising), But gameplay such as Halo, CoD, and even Gears of War (All of which usually will require an extra purchase of DLC eventually) just gets really stale and boring for me. So I guess I can kind of see where you're coming from with that.
