in a GvH game has anything ever made you startle and jump in real life? here is a few embaressing times that this has happend to me.
- Soren Dark Sage as a Jitter, it was early in the morning and I was shooting at him camping as a cyborg and he suddenly dashed at me. Lets just say my wireless mouse went off the desk.
- Marine Kan was afk as a creeper in Hollywood Holocaust, I ran around corner and the creeper was just sat there and I jumped! funny.
- I tried to suicide and forgot I had Ice Arrows, not Fire and the sound was up loud, the ice startled me. booo!
- Silence Fox was at a top of a ladder and I climbed up and he did me!
- BladeX the Jitter suddenly popped out of a teleporter and I went to shoot him and he went back in... I waited for his return and I wasn't quite ready and jumped again when he munched his way through.
- I was Sjas and I ran round corner into Hunter DarkDemon and he made ME jump... we attacked each other and both died!
- I was waiting behind a wall as a Sjas for a marine to come, when Ammar shot me with his electric arrow. :cool:

A Choke ran up behind me when I was running trying to regain plasma ammo, and I literally said...
"AKLASDEFGULMABWFP!"
After which, I had my room-mate laughing his ass off.
Probably one of the most epic things he ever saw.

I was playing in Wagi Caves. Camping with my plasma, I turn around... nothing there, I looked back AND OMG A CHOKE WAS NIBBELING ME!

Once when I was sure a creeper was afk, and I was searching for it. It popped up out of no where and I nearly threw my brand new mouse off my desk.

Heres a few that happened to me:
-Was a marine and was strafing around Gvh01 until a Sjas apeared from above and made me literally crap my pants.
- Was on Urban decay and I was a hunter hiding at the bottom of the lift on the vending machines, then I heard a creeper so I plopped of the machine and*BAM* D:
- Was a while ago on the old version of GvH10 and I was last human against cutty ( who if I remember was a Jitty..damn map spammer! O.o ) I was sniping with like 1HP at the top of the teleports in the tower, then without a warning *MUNCH* and he just came outter nowhere..I still need psycological help to this day from that.. (Cutty actually beating me..not the scare xD)
- And the worst one was recently on GvH07 (Hunting grounds?) I was a creeper and there was 5 Vs me, I got rid of the first 3 easily, then spotted one (a Marine) heading into the caves so I went after him, just before I got into the cave a Cyborg landed on me and spammed the iving crap outter me...I think you know who you are Cyborg..Grrr...

Makes me jump usually when it's just me and a Jitterskull remain, and I have no idea where it is. Then it just chomps out of nowhere.

*On my favorite level, the silent hill one (gvh20, cause its kinda foggy and pretty dark o.o), as a hunter, there was only me and a ghoul left, since everthing was sooooo quiet i tough it was a creeper, but then i was passing trough a dark corridor and BAM!! a jitter came out from nowhere and kill me, lol i got seriously freak out :shock:
(Pd.! camping jitterz can be pretty scary o_o)

GVH19, me as a jitter and since 5 as a cyborg, well you know that theres a dark room with some pillars and a small tunel in a wall, well i decided to go trough it, then i turned around to see if no one was there, but when i was abouth to walk a cyborg poped in my screen!! i screamed in that moment, tnk god i got him!!! XD
After that since 5 told me that he was talking on his cellpone, when he saw two red eyes on his screen :shock: it was me lol, he told me that screamed too when he saw me XD

Heh its can be quite funny and embaressing (if people are about the computer).
Earlier I was a sjas and moved up some stairs and straight into a santa... man did I jump!

One day I was playing with the fire arrows from the hunter, when I launched an arrow, my father entered into the room and farted when the arrow exploded
I was playing as a jitterskull, I launched a JITTERAPE!!!! and then an spider fall in my face

I, being someone who is scared easily, really shouldn't be playing a game like this, but pretty much any time I play I jump. One of the most notable was when I killed myself as Creeper the first time I played. Though I probably didn't kill myself and the death picture for Creeper was just really close up on my death cam.

I was sneaking up on Ammar earlier as creeper.. he looked over at me I didn't think he spotted even though he was looking my way. I kept still and soon as he turns I was gonna run at him... but he kept looking at me and suddenly pulled trigger on riot gun and took chunk out of me.. and in real life nearly ripped my headphones out xD

Ah, i remember something epic. I was a Jitterskull and there was only a Cyborg left, while i was searching i suddenly teleported right (from above ledge in GVH04 to below path) into his FACE! I assume it startled us both, though i was the first one to attack, and win. :P
Scared me too, though, heh, Jitterskull screenrape instead of a Creeper one.

When my friend was a Sjas in the rany map and I didnt see her behind me and i nearly fell out my chair cos she startled me! plus I accidently knocked a ful bottle of water on the floor. it was funny!

Or are we talking about yesterday on the Silent Stalker map? I scared you there too, never realised a peacefully hovering Sjas could be so scary all of a sudden. Hehehe...

Suprisingly, creepers have rarely scared me.

I was playing as Jitterskull in the {Obsidian-UK} GVH server (Team LMS, IIRC) and I was inside the lobby of the building. Then the door (which I was facing) opens and out comes a marine who shotguns me on the spot, killing me.
I'll update with more as I play.

GvH08 I was protecting Frits with ghost buster traps when he was afk... when I looked down behind me on floor was AFK creeper by the name of doomjoshuaboy_pikachu...
LMFAO!!!!! I had finger on trigger and was blasting the gb gun into the sky and I embaressed hoping nobody was f12ing me XD.

The first time that i saw a Creeper jump at me when i was a cyborg.( I was NightmareZero anyone remember that? ) I almost shat a brick. But it made me jump!

I like to stay up late for ridiculous amounts of time, and tend to get pretty sleepy while playing. Well, when i first started playing GvH a while back, late at night, hardly awake, sound blasting, and a creeper gets me. I hit the floor. My psychiatrist says i shouldn't play this anymore after that. Jk lol

I was playing as Jitter again, of course (me being a power-class specialist, meaning I mostly do Jitt and Cyborg), and I was looking for this last guy in TLMS. Then out pops him as a Ghostbuster and I just barely managed to crunch him in time. Whew o.o

I sometimes get startled if I'm focusing on a Ghoul, then a Creeper comes up without me seeing, and gets me. Also, occasionally if a Jitter charges down at me without me knowing he was there. A surprise Choke makes me tense up, but not really in fear, but as a more "Oh shit" reaction, if you know what I mean. Never really been startled by Sjas or Frost Bite, though. I suppose if a Frost Bite suddenly chomped me when I was low on HP, that would make me jump, since I get more tense the closer I am to death.

This game makes me jump all over the place. The Sjae chills my blood with its screamings...
hearing it faint at first... then louder and louder as it gets close....
Next thing I know, I'm DEAD! It attacked me from behind....
But my main problem... is HOW DO YOU KILL THOSE DAMNED CREEPERS?!
All my weapons dont hit the little bastard! >.<;;

Well, i never actually jumped in GvH, because after jumping to those unexepted screamers in youtube...I'm just not scared of pop outs anymore, though i'll still post if i will get one

The first time I played GvH was in multiplayer. I got in there, picked some random human class, and 10 seconds later got frag'd and totally freaked out by a Creeper. I didn't even see him and BAM! I fall out of my chair, headphones dangling off the desk, and my glass of water all over the front of my shirt. My initial reaction was, "WTF happened?", but then I was like "That... that was disturbing."
But now they don't scare me anymore. :P

I don't jump, but stay where I am and waiting for the image to disappear. The first time I pissed me off when, as a Ghoul, I didn't win and the yurei have appeared. It was 7 o'clock and I did nightmares that night (with ghouls). Now I don't get scared but I haven't fight yurei in GF3 so... I don't know if I'll jump.

I have not played GvH or any of the Ghoul's Forest WADs, and I may or may not be a bad person for that, but I have a reason.
I am so fucking easily startled that I practically jump out of my skin when I hear someone knocking on my door. This may or may not be because I was exposed to screamers first when I was really young (say, first grade or so) and my little sponge-like mind kind of got... Traumatized from there on out, and so that's why sudden noises (especially loud ones) affect me the way they do.
I'm not saying to pussify it, but I'm bitching about my own tactile defensiveness, which would ruin the experience for me.

Suppose i might as well warn you compared to unexpected noise GVH is like an sudden explosion for first timers. :P
Its a classic though (it even has its own glitches to show that!), so perhaps worth playing if you're feeling brave. Though the various videos of people playing (and commentating/screaming about) Ghouls Forest 3(GF3) is always amusing too.
No fan of screamers either though heh, neither facehuggers. :P

Strangley enough yes. Here are a few:
1. In Lets Bowl on gvh online and me and a marine were camping in the pipes and we didn't know the vent was open and a frostbite game the marine (marine 2.0) frostbite and killed me with his icy winds. I threw my keyboard.
2. I was in Hollywood Holocaust and i was on the roof battling a sjas who was at the fence when a big spaceship came and blew me up and i ran away fucken shouting "OMFG ALIENS ARE IN THE GHOUL WORLD!!!" Lol.
3. I was in Wagi Caves as a corruptor and i was versing a Yurei and it snuck behind me and it just killed me and i tottaly freaked out! :shock:
