Title: [EXPANSION] Battle Network 3
Post by: LlamaHombre on December 21, 2011, 12:19:42 AM
You know what time it is.

READ THE BELOW BEFORE POSTING.

FAQs:

Q. Why 3 if neither 1 nor 2 have even been announced yet?
A. I enjoy BN3 to the point where I've mostly memorized the game. I don't enjoy the first two nearly enough to head an expansion for it. Want 1 or 2? Head one yourself.

Q. Music???
A. I'm handling this.

Q. What if I did start a BN2 expansion?
A. I'd do what I could to support you. I've always believed that BN2 is the younger brother to BN3.

Q. What style will the sprites be in.
A. They will be more Mega Man Classic than MegaMan Battle Network, if you know what I mean.

Q. What's being done???
A. Everything beyond this answer.

Primary Skins:

Secondary Skins:
(Not required to finish the expansion.)

Maps:

Chips / Items :

Awesome, loved BN3, sadly I can't help out much. Not a spriter and don't have a program to do transparencies. Also can't figure out how to get maps in show in game.
Though I will help by saying I saw a Forte.exe/Bass.exe in a video I watched earlier today, maybe see about finding out who made that and ask for permission to use it. Save some time on at least one skin.

I'll ask LlamaHombre to use it then.

EDIT: ...He said no.

both Forte and Metalmen should be REALLLY easy because they both float around.

If you explain what Darkman does I might do him because he looks awesome.

I doubt I'll be able to contribute, due to Llama's negative view of me.

Good luck, though.

DarkMan essentially swaps elemental attacks as he moves around. He uses Fire Towers, which home in on the target slowly, Ice Waves, which cover two rows as they move towards your opponent. He also uses Sensor chips, which shoot an instant elec beam through a diagonal or straight line.

DarkMan also opens caves in your area that spread bats down your columns. He's a very fun opponent.

Speaking of Ice Wave, I'll add that.

Thanks for your cooperation, Ukiyama.

I added FolderBack and GMD to the list while I'm at it.

If I remember correctly, he's able to use Wood Tower, as well.

Wood is the only element DarkMan is not in charge of.

NorthWind and Dark Aura will be added to the list.

How the hell does one forget the normal and heel navis?

Because the Heel Navis first appeared in BN4.

Until then you just had the mean looking normal navis, the Official's ones, the female normals, the secondary females and the "ghost" like ones.

No, I'm fairly certain Heel Navis were in BN3!

Oh, guess you were right, BN3 is when they changed them to the Purple look. My bad.

I used to work on a Battle Network 2/3 expansion
until my own Battle Brother LifeSwrd-ed me in the knee

Wouldn't it technically make more sense to say you took an (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111208050905/megaman/images/9/96/MMBN3SChip067.png) to the knee?

Updated the OP quite a bit, sorry I couldn't do it before.
My DSi wouldn't let me insert characters into the OP for some reason.

How goes the Bubble chips, Lego?

I can make weapons and such for you... but answer me this: we're still doing the AwNet expansion later, right?

Of course we are.

This has nothing to do with Awesome Network.

Alright. If I get people to provide me with HUDs I'm good to go.

I can sorta do Prism or IceWave right now. Oh, how's your Northwind going to work?
Title: Re: [EXPANSION] Battle Network 3
Post by: LlamaHombre on December 22, 2011, 07:37:15 PM
I suppose it'll scan the area around the player like Gravity Hold, and remove DarkAura from anyone using it.
Title: Re: [EXPANSION] Battle Network 3
Post by: Korby on December 22, 2011, 08:57:25 PM
You might want to make it do a bit more than that because it seems to be a bit situational.
Title: Re: [EXPANSION] Battle Network 3
Post by: LlamaHombre on December 22, 2011, 09:03:46 PM
Maybe it'll toss people who aren't using DarkAura around a bit, like Wind Storm or old Gravity Hold.

Suggestions.

:Chips:
Ratton = Something that can work a bit like Search Snake/Wind Storm/Bubble Lead and mixed with Magnet Missile.
Salamander + Tsunami + Thunder Bolt + Gaia Blade

:Buster Upgrades:
Heat Guts = Has a charge, secondary shot uses recharge for the machine gun shot.
Aqua Brother/Team = Higher damage, secondary shot is just the charge shot.
Elec Custom = Higher rate of fire, secondary shot is the charge shot = low damage and acts like Spark Shot.
Wood Shield = Normal shot is the charge. Secondary shot is a recharge shield that cuts damage in half for a split second.
Heat Shadow = High fire rate, secondary shot teleports a short distance forward.
Elec Ground = Higher damage. Secondary fire is a recharge weapon that damages all enemies on the ground.
Aqua Bug = High Rapid, secondary shot is the screw kick (from Onimusha Blade Warriors) which works like Charge Kick.
(I used the elements shown in each ones artwork)
Noticed no weapons use the secondary fire button, and only the classes do, so I figured the styles could put it to use.

I'll list more once I think of any.

Ratton yes

Styles will not be included, so Salamander, Tsunami, Bolt, and Gaia Blade are a no.

How Music will work:

Any map without a major key plot point will use the regular Virus Battle theme. This of course includes Yoka Area, which had BubbleMan.
Any map with a key plot element not related to N1 in the slightest will have the normal boss theme.
The Undernet and any N1 related map will have Great Battlers.
Alpha may or may not use his own respective theme for his map. It depends on whether or not we will have a chapter for this expansion.
Hades Isle and WWW Castle will use their Lan counterpart songs instead of the music playing inside, as they are Final Transmission and Dangerous Black, respectively.
The ACDC, Yoka, Beach, and SciLab areas will be similar to this aspect.

Anyone got an idea on where to put the main internet theme?

ACDC Area gets Main Internet area theme I'd say.
