Alright so yesterday my buddy Lobsters and I decided to try out Netplay on the ZSNES emulator with Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers. It worked out very well and had NO lag whatsoever. So I thought,
Hey! Why not make a tourny?
So basically how this works is, two people will have to connect over ZSNES netplay. To do this, you will REQUIRE ZSNES version 1.42. NOT 1.51, it doesn't work.
You also need the ROM "Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers" I will not be providing this ROM for you on the forum here, you will have to fend for yourself. MAKE SURE YOU RENAME IT "ssf" AND DO NOT LEAVE IT A ZIP FILE.

How do I connect to Netplay anyway?
Well, first of all you may have to forward the port 7845. Not always, but some people do.
So here are the steps
1.) Open ZSNES 1.42
2.) Click on the NETPLAY tab -> Internet
3.) UNCHECK the box saying "Use UDP instead pf TCP"
4.) The server host clicks start as server
5.) The other player must do steps 1-3
6.) Type in the host's External IP address (http://www.whatismyip.com (http://www.whatismyip.com)) and clicks connect
7.) Alright, you should be connected now. You know you did it right if a chat window appears.
Now the host at the top will go to Load, then select the ROM.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT STEP!!!!!
Make SURE you extract the ROM if it is in a ZIP file, and name it "ssf"
Now that we have that squared away, let's get this started. Here is the template:

I am so joining this. Also if this takes off rather well, we could possibly form other fighter tournaments. For example: Action52's Firebreather or Killer Instinct or something in SNK's Vast Library.

Also, I know it ISN'T Exactly Stated But Turbo/Auto-Fire is BANNED, correct? Addditionly, I suggest banning the Key Combination Option you can make a key bind to let's say do an instant hadoken. I mean you can use it for much "harder moves" like say 360 spins. Just putting out there incase any sly tricksters come in and try to exploit some loophole(s). It would be hard to tell Key Combo users, I wouldn't look into that much. It would be MUCH more noticible if the user instantly 360 spins (with their opponent being the only one moving) your ass all the time like a bot. I can't seem to get one button press Sonic Booms to work. Yes I am looking into things way too much. I can also post pictures but edit out the command for the bind. Sadly this is the only way I'll pull off T. Hawk's 360 move with my cruddy controls.
Also, keep in mind I might come off as horrible. I am rather accustomed to a somewhat more recent Street Fighter title. Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PS1 version [My disc is scratched to hell though works fine on a PC Emu. Sadly it won't read on the good ol' PS1. Now, I should start looking for my Tekken 3 and other old PS1 games what hasn't been sold or lost forever already.)

Lobsters weird condition: If I can't figure out/get hosting capibilities functional and being forced into the position where I HAVE to host. I'll forfeit.

I'm not sure you've noticed, but this topic was made three years ago and I don't even think it ever started. It's not a good idea to bump threads that are incredibly old unless you have something reeeaallyyy important to say.
