Alright OJ, what the flapping f@(& are you trying this time?
Ok, don't kill me, but this whole thing revolves around a ladder system. Each player has his/her/wartortle's own rank which goes up or down depending on whether they win or lose ranked duels. There will be many ways to earn rank, like regularly assigned random duels, matches you call yourself when someone insults your skills/mother/cat, or miniature tournaments. The ladder also gives players a chance to fight people at their own level.
But I'm not a pro duelist...
This was made for duelists of all levels! You'll usually be put up against players closer to you in rank, and you lose much less rank when you lose to someone ranked higher than you. You're also safe from stronger players bullying you for rank.
Nobody duels anymore, you should know that.
This was designed to make duels actually happen for those who enjoy them. Every 3rd day, the moon crashes into termina players who are subscribed to "tri-daily duels" will receive an opponent for a ranked duel. You can freely resubscribe and unsubscribe to these matches, but not playing a match already assigned will have consequences (exceptions can be made for causes beyond player control). In addition, players can call each other out for ranked duels at any time. Tri-Daily duels will be one match with a RANDOMLY picked map, Call-out duels will be either best 2 out of 3 with typical tournament picks (one player picks his map, another player picks his map, and the final map is agreed upon) or the same as tri-daily matches, as agreed by the players. Fraglimits may either be 5 or 10, as agreed. No timelimits.
Random maps? Seriously?
The following maps may be vetoed by either player for another random map:
MM5WAV
MM5GYR
MM5CRY
MM7SPR
MM7BUR
MM7DW4
All custom maps unless otherwise stated
So I always have to be ready to duel? Sounds annoying.
That's why we pulled this solution out of nowhere in the last 10 minutes: You may choose to deny all incoming challenges, but if you issue a challenge, you must accept the first two challenges issued in the next 48 hours.
______________________
For required matches (the first two challenges in the 48 hours following a challenge you proposed): You have 24 hours to begin playing a challenge (if the challenged is able to play later on but the challenger is unavailable later in the 24 hours, he withdraws the challenge. A challenge withdrawl has no penalty to either party, but the challenger must still accept his minimum 2 challenges for the next 48 hours.) If you do not, you are not permitted to participate in the next tri-daily duel nor issue challenges for the tri-daily duel period. However, you may still finish the current period's tri-daily duel. If a Tri-daily duel is not completed, if one player is clearly at fault, they will receive the same punishment, but may receive stricter punishment for repeat offenses. Mutual Confirmation, Screenshot Confirmation, or Board Member confirmation will all be accepted.
Awesome, so I can beat on newbies?
...Not quite. You can't challenge players with less than 60% of your rank, and rank increase diminishes for challenges issued to players with less than 90% of your rank. You may not challenge a single player twice in 48 hours. In addition, Tri-Daily duels give a 5% incoming rank bonus for the winner that call-out duels do not get.
But what if I REALLY want to beat someone's face off?
If two players have at least 90% of each other's rank, have challenged each other at least once each, and have both won at least one match against each other, they may mutually agree to a grudge match for 1.75x the rank change. The difference in rank is also ignored, so both players risk the same amount of relative rank. Come at me.
EDIT: Players may also decide beforehand to halve rank changes for a "light duel".
So... it's just a bunch of duels? Big whoop.
Well, I tried to break up the monotony by giving you guys what you've always loathedwanted: Team Tournaments! In addition to random tournaments to give rank and stir things up, players can join 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 teams. These teams carry their own rank and may participate in team tournaments and may call out other teams for ranked matches. These tournaments can range from anything to DM, TLMS, CTF, Possession, to Classes, so bring frinds who are ready for anything! Please note, however, that a team's rank will be reset if they ever have less than 51% of their original members. 5v5 teams will be permitted to play with only 4 of their members attending a match. You may only sign up for ONE team in each player count bracket, and these teams will carry over between tournaments.
WADs allowed:
2mandmitemremoval.pk3 must be used for 2 man DM, as duel mode is unstable. If you can duel without crashing on V2C, be my guest. Zandronum is also permitted, as we have a few Best Ever servers up.
The most up-to-date AMP, CSCM, SHARP, and IX packs may be used for duels, but the map must be mutually agreed upon.
TBG CTF may also be used in CTF.
Classes mods may be used at specified times, typically in team tournaments, but classes have been tiered for balance in team games.
Other mods may also make appearances!
Yeah, whatever how do I sign up
