Prologue:
“Helloo… Are you awake..?” Ugh… What is that racket? “Get up!! You’ll be late!” Am I still dreaming…? “Alright, that’s it mister. No more late night computer for you!” I felt a hand shaking me in my half-asleep state. “Unh… sorry mom…” I said, still dazed from the deep sleep I just awoke from. “Yeah, ‘sorry’ doesn’t cut it. I’m not hauling my ass for you every morning just because you can’t wake up! Next time, you’re walking to school. Got that?” My mom was upset. “Yes mother…” God, the way her face looks when she’s mad. Shoot me. Yawning, I get up to prepare myself for another tiring day of freshman year at high school. This is not going to be a good day, I can already tell.
My name is Human Destroyer, but everyone I know just calls me HD for short. I would tell you a bit more about my life, but my mother will have another freak out if I take any longer. So you can just let the story unfold itself.
I quickly scrape up some clothes off of the floor that I previously wore this week, but quite frankly, it’s Friday, so I don’t really care if I’m smelly. I swing my bedroom door open, and head downstairs. I greet my father with a smile, and head into the kitchen. A bowl of Frosted Flakes sure sounds good… I reach up toward the cupboard, only to be cut off by the sound of my mother, “Oh, NO YOU DON’T. You don’t have time for breakfast! We have to leave A.S.A.P!” She said this in such a shrill, obnoxious voice that I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. God, so annoying.. “Don’t roll your eyes at me, young man. Now get in the car.” She looked at me so sternly. What’s her problem, anyway? I shouted goodbye to my father, but I don’t think he heard me. I got into the car, and sat in the back because I didn’t want to sit by my mother. She revved it up and pulled out of the garage, and onto the road.
“So,” She began to say, “are you doing anything with Travis after school?” I shrugged. “I dunno. Maybe. ”Travis. Travis is my best friend from school. I met him roughly three years ago back in the sixth grade. We’re complete and total bros , nothing could ever separate us! “Well, if you do end up hanging out with him, be sure to let me know from his cell phone.” My mother said. “Well mom, maybe if I had a cell phone I wouldn’t have to worry about asking him.” My parents keep telling me I’m too young to have a phone, it’s such a drag. She shot me a quick glance “Don’t push it, I can easily make you come home right after school.” I sigh, “Yes mother.” She pulls up in front of the school, and I open the door. “Have a good day, I love you.” My mom says. I don’t respond, and get out of the car and shut the door behind me. I scan my eyes up and down the school. Man, here we go again…
