Title: I keep getting errors in doom builder (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL:)
Post by: gamerman on January 27, 2013, 09:59:36 PM
I keep getting this error every time I try to start a map!
Why?
Here is the details:
(click to show/hide)
Also, it says D3DERR_INVALIDCALL:Invalid call (-2005530516)
If I hit continue, it does it again the second time looks like this:
(click to show/hide)
After this, it keeps giving me other errors before i have to shut it down!
While I do have it set to skulltag like the tutorial suggests, I've had this problem since when MM8BDM was still using it. I've never successfully made/opened a map!
Please help!

It's a render error. Something wrong with your Software Renderer, namely Direct 3D

Step one complete: figure out what's wrong.
*[stops pulling out hair]*
So, how do I fix it.

You may need to install a diferent Direct X, I think. I'm not a technician, though.

EDIT: well, I tried installing directx9, and that doesn't seem to be working.
Um, I don't think this computer has a graphics card. could that be it?

BUMP for important stuff.
I found out my computer has a grphics card by running dirrect x's diagnostic.
I have a rage 128 pro ultra gl AGP.
So, now what?

You might be out of luck.  One of the requirements of Doom Builder 2 is

-Graphics card with Pixel Shader model 2.0.

If your graphics card is indeed a Rage 128, then it's too old to support this.

Shoot... I knew this computer was a dinosaur.
Well, thanks anyways.
