Title: Mega Man Universe
Post by: CutmanMike on July 19, 2010, 11:00:51 AM
Of course I expect you all to have seen the trailer by now.

http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/07/16/ ... -universe/ (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/07/16/capcom-announces-mega-man-universe/)

Your thoughts?

I really don't know what to expect. A lot of people are saying LBP knock off, which could be great. I'm just glad it has a mix of classic stuff in there because that's what appeals to me the most. The tie in with the other games also raised an eyebrow but again, this could be awesome having powers from other Capcom titles. All I say is, the more classic the better.

The trailer has me pretty jazzed. It featured bionic commando (for which I have a secret passion) and street fighter. I've heard speculation that it might be capcoms answer to brawl from a few people. I don't know how likely that is, I imagine its just gonna be a LBP clone. Which is awesome because I love me some LBP.

I haven't seen the trailer up till now.  And it seems quite interesting.

I can't allow myself to get too hyped for this, because, once again Capcom aint puttin' one of their games on Nintendo Systems...

If anything, I hope MegaMan Volnutt is palyable.

Bump because it's gonna be at PAX, and we'll get our first gameplay footage. Resume speculation!

Gameplay trailer.

Don't like how the game looks in a lot of places (mostly the ugly enemies and plain backgrounds). Here's hoping it has a lotta cool features, like level creation and or multiplayer.

Yea; as weird as this game's graphics look, I'd still say it'll be 10X more fun than any MegaMan MMORPG that's coming out.

Well, that ruined it.

Seriously, they could've done a waaaay better art style.

Now I'm fine with not having a 360.

Still, woulda been cool with a better art style.

I think it could be fun. Obviously there's a level editor involved, and a game with a level editor puts sends the replay value soaring... at least for me.

I'm only ticked off that we saw no robot masters!

Edit: After I added some brightness, it's bubbleman dammit! You can also see Heatman on the right, there maybe more but I can't recognize em. Maybe pharaohman on the left and zero on right?

If you kinda focus on the plug-looking bot on the far right and look up next to that dude with the spiked beared, it looks like a silhouette of what may possibly be Cut Man.
Of course I could be wrong so don't get excited :p

i have 9 and 10 on my wii! (11 will happen because capcom can make it with very little effort and it will BRING IN DA BUCKS)
super street fighter 4 does look pretty cool! (when i was a kid i won a big chocolate easter egg for winning a tournament on street fighter 2 at my youth club awww yeah)
LittleBigPlanet looks awesome!

anyway back to MEGAMAN UNIVERSE i hope that it won't just have the megaman 1-2 robots!
Title: Re: Mega Man Universe
Post by: Max on September 04, 2010, 12:41:22 PM
BUY IT

Also back on topic, I like how they treat badass Mega Man and cute Rockman as different characters.

I really wanna play as Wily, too.
(Make it happen.)

Something I forgot, in the original trailer he turns into 8-bit megaman, I hope that's possible in the game too!
Title: Re: Mega Man Universe
Post by: Snake33AU on September 08, 2010, 07:46:26 AM
Lol! A Ruby Spears Mega Man game would be hirlarious.

It would be filled with cheesy one-liners and wise crack, and when an obstacle is about to drop on your head, hit to a commercial break so when you come back you have more time to dodge said falling obstacle (i'll link a youtube video later, lol).

Hmm, I haven't seen the trailer yet, but the idea sounds interesting if they include a level editor. I lold at the Bad Box Art Mega Man. I have a PS3 so if it's any good I might look out for it.

I never played any of the MM RPGs. I have to say though that they didn't interest me much. Once MM went 3D, I lost interest. Unless it's side-scrolling 3D (like Bionic Commando Re-armed) I feel alienated as to what I think a MM game should be played. Just me maybe? (yet I contradict myself after playing MM8BDM, but that doesn't count ok? It's an awesome FPS cross-over that just seems to work ok! lol).  :p

As for Mega Man Universe, we just have to wait and see.

P.S. Mega Man 11 will be a given.  :p

Lol! Yep, I do see where you're going with it.

Ahh, I enjoy the Mega Man games coz the gameplay is virtually unchanged, but i know what you fear though... it becoming an almost soul-less franchise (Call of Duty? Guitar Hero) where they make game after game only to make moolah.

As for Sheep Man, I learnt to like him. At first I thought "seriously, Sheep Man? and not Thunder Man or something?" but I learnt to like him and welcome him as a Mega Man robot master.

There have been odd robots masters in the past, but they worked out.

P.S. I wonder what the sexual innuendo robot master of Mega Man 11 would be? Penetrate Man?   with his weapon, Penetrate missiles? I sure hope not, lol.

A new batch of info was just released, and Character Customation is apparently a big part of the game. RPG-Styled Power, Move, Weapon and Jump stats are available, plus weapons to use. Leaf Sheild was confirmed, yay. Also, there was some hybrid of Metal Man with Mega Man's head, fittingly titled "chop man".

I'm confused and excited.

To be honest, when i first saw the previews, they didn't interest me that much (Rockman online had a bigger impact, even though it showed no gameplay footage).

But now looking at all the customizable stuff (and level editor!) I can see the replay value on this being very long, and quite fun. I'll look forward to it now.  :D

Seeing as i'm no good at programming, i yearn for when games bring out these level editors. I think I have creativity in me, just i couldn't make a game from scratch (i am dependent on most of the programming pre-made). An 8 bit Mega Man editor would be sweet as too! I like editors where you can add your own music and what not (even work with triggers and specific properties etc) but i am reliant on an already programmed editor to work on, seeing as my programming skills are very minor.

As for this game, it's the one game so far that hasn't made me go "omg omg omg!" but yet these new trailers intrigued me. I agree on the no milking thing, I don't want Capcom/Inti Creates to become the next Activision or Infinity Ward etc etc. Otherwise we'll be seeing Guitar Hero: Mega Man or Call of Duty: Mega Warfare or something? Every 6 months, lol.

Ever played Spore? Galactic Adventures allows you to make fun little quests as well, which might get your creative juices flowing.

Though I gotta say, an 8-bit Megaman game with a level editor would be epic.

Perhaps Ruby Spears style bad puns?

Bubble Man: Time to burst your bubble!
Air Man: I'll knock the air out of you!
Quick Man: Better be quick if you wanna catch me!
Heat Man: Time to turn up the heat!
Wood Man: You woodn't last a minute against me!
Metal Man: Turn up the metal to 11!
Flash Man: You'll be gone in a flash!
Crash Man: I'm gonna crash this party!

Dunno if the robot masters should say it or Mega Man says some wise-crack? lol.

I just can't wait to make the most evil (but beatable) stages anyone has ever seen!!

The stage editor alone has already confirmed my purchase, but with the ability to use parts from characters and robotmasters to make custom megamen is just the icing on the cake!

Not to mention MM2 is my favorite in the series (I know it is a bit over hyped, but there is a reason) and to have a remake with all this just makes it that much more special.

Also Inafune commented awhile ago stating that he would like to re-do the entire series, I think he is going to do it all in one game-Megaman Universe.

Just imagine every new add-on to the game will be the stages, characters, and powers for the next installment. I think I may be more excited for this game then ANY other game in my entire history. I grew up starting with the very first MM game and now my dreams of creating my own are slowly coming true.

I have DS and PSP, but what I really like about the PSP is I can plug it into my TV and play on a big screen and not get a massive kink in my neck from playing the hand held. And! the PSP Go you can plug it into a TV and it can use bluetooth devices IE the PS3 controllers! I don't have one of those because it doesn't have a UMD port, all the games you play on it are downloaded from the PSN Store.
