Using a chain of A_FireCustomMissile to simulate a railgun makes me sadfaec. Use A_FireRailgun ; it deals 100 damage in deathmatch and 150 damage everywhere else, so still instant death, plus real hitscan and the ability to customize your rail colors in Player Setup.It's not a chain FireCustomMissile, but rather a projectile that instantly gains 480 speed while creating its own trail. 480 is the "most stable" speed I found for a fastprojectile (above this, Z speed may suffer.). I could recreate all those aspects with some ACS but decided just to keep things simple.

Alright, I actually played this mod, and I gotta say Zard was right. The railgun just FEELS right. Loads of fun, really.Can do. Meanwhile, I'm working on a new version that will also (hopefully) allow custom colors.
My only gripe is that you can't reload early, meaning there's literally no benefit to conserving your shots. Why not a reload option on Alt?
Fast projectiles? That sounds hard to use if you have high ping. I might try this.Is harder to avoid than IGMetalBlade, but is pretty fun! :D
The only issue I have with this is that the trail doesn't seem to sync up with the actual attack. I had a very hard time hitting anything with it because the projectile moves about five times faster than the visible trail. I don't know if this is just me, but it just feels off.It accidentally got a double trail for no known reason. The projectile moves at 480 and the trails move's at 5% to 95% of that speedhaving a "freezing" after frame 1.
So, yeah, sadly this means it is impossible unless someone teaches me an alternative that works.The alternative is to use hitscan. A_FireRailgun, to be precise. I made a ticket for adding player railcolor support to A_RailAttack, so it should be in by v5a or so.
AND NO, I will NEVER make a hitscan of it!
