Title: ****The Private GvH Server****
Post by: Anannyo on July 29, 2010, 03:10:21 PM
You guys want a private 8-player GvH server? Away from all the chaos?

BlueWiz's EDIT post:

Quote from: "BlueWizard"
Anannyo's not gonna host it, I am.

It'll be Max 16 - 12 Players. All GvH Maps BUT GvH00 and GvH01.

*Rules*
1. No impersonation, seriously, not cool. Its annoying when I see 500 AmmaR's running around.
2. LISTEN TO EVERYONE, seriously.
3. Common Sense! Use it!
4. Playing the Actually game is Greater than just camping in the server and chatting. So if people want to play, LET THEM.
5. Kick is ENABLED, please don't abuse it.

You can contact me on the Skulltag IRC (aka SkullTalk). Ask me from there.
Or any of the Admins :P

Oh yeah Anyone on the forums, just message me for the password and its out...

PS. Server NAME is [GvH] - THE PRIVATE SERVER

I suppose I can bump it up to 12 or something, I will host it when I move and get a new internet connection... (Hopefully)

That'll take about a week.

I was actually thinking of this today, and a set of rules that borrow heavy from the CTF private servers.

I say do it, but I wouldn't go 12 players.

I have rules for the GVH private thing. I got a lot of them from CTF private games.

Mainly you have a 12 player limit, maybe more. Only 3on3 to 5on5 maximum on either team, and no one is allowed to pick more than two of the same kind of class. So let's say there is 2 creeprs.. that's it. This avoids class abuse spam that happens on certain maps (GVH03, 08, 11, 12, and so on). For those not playing, they put a star next to their name. The captain of one team picks player first if he joined first, but the leader of the second time picks map. After the game, two different people can captain and so on. People that join during the picking process can not play.

Password to the server must be exclusive to THOSE EVERYONE KNOWS IS GOOD. So you can weed out the rift raft. There can never be an uneven team, so if someone leaves during mid game then wait until the next round and someone else should fill in. I suggest the captain pick a fill in player immediately if that happens so more than one player doesn't join at once and causes chaos.

Ah, dont you mean "riffraff"? Anyway, this would be interesting. Though i kinda like playing with various new people, especially if they make for an easy meal, though if the matches on said servers are gonna be good in ping and fun, it would seem quite interesting. Ping is vital, though. :P

And i can enjoy the idea of having not just ONLY marines out there, like in most servers. Class variation is always nice. Why is this not posted in the Ghouls forum anyway, i wonder?
