Title: [Suggestion] Show some love to lifeless stages!
Post by: Max on July 13, 2013, 03:01:22 PM
This is just my opinion, but a few of the maps in the core feel a bit lifeless due to lack of props, animated textures, or other things. I suggest going back through the core maps and adding some enemy props or detailed backgrounds to really make them look pretty!

Alphabetical order because core

That's all. I would suggest enemies for the two MM8 Dr. Wily stages, but I don't know that game very well.

YD! This is too much work!
No it isn't... We have tonnes of capable spriters (and a few that can do 800x the work that everyone else does), so we could cover it if we wanted to!

YD! This is pointless!
Well that's just totally like, your opinion man.

YD! You forgot things!
Post and tell me about them!

I love this idea.

And an idea for Aqua Man stage: You know that area where there's a waterfall visible that looks just like the one you fight Gorone on in MM8? I think that Gorone should be there, because otherwise, it's just a pointless inaccessible stage area.

MM5GYR could use a few Tondealls floating around.
MM5CHA could have Rembakuns flying alongside the train too.

I have a sheet for the latter that I can provide, though the helmet looks kind of weird.

I didn't add either of those because Gyro is already animated with the big fan and the pillars and Charge is always moving due to being on a train, but still worth considering?

For Bubble Man stage: Outside the area, there should be some enemies like some M-445 (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/CWU-01P#M-445)s, or Anko (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Anko)s that could swim around and occasionally spit out Shrink (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Shrink)s.

And for Clown Man stage: Those Robots that carry hammers and whack the bell. Their "Sound activated platforms" are there, you can hear them, but they aren't visible for some reason.

We didn't use them in clown man because the sound they make would of been annoying as hell after a while.

Uhh. The sound they make ALREADY EXISTS in the stage.

Oh right, where was my head this morning. Also I forgot that that noise was the bell noise in 8 bit.

Metal Man should have the Presses (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Press#Press) and Blocky (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Blocky) in a background area.

I didn't really use those blue wall textures anywhere in Aqua Man because they looked really ugly no matter where they went.

I did kind of rip MM8 FC's Search Vines already, which could make it a bit easier. May want to add rotations though.

(Yes from my destroyable walls, but they don't have to be destroyable)

Here are some of my suggestions..

MM6TOM could use a metool dispenser prop since it was in the stage twice

MM6BLI Does not have the count bombs that were used in the end of the stage. I am kind of upset they are only used in MM8GRE

If you want to make suggestions, use the sticky map feedback thread. Better to keep it all in once place.
