CUTSTUFF TOONAMI


So, for those of you that for some reason don't know what Toonami is, it basically is a program on Cartoon Network every Saturday that plays Anime. Well we decided to stream our own, mutually decided upon Animes in the same way Toonami does each Saturday at 8 PM to 11:30 PM

Each Saturday, we will broadcast the following:

• 8:00-8:30: One Piece
• 8:30-9:00: Cowboy Bebop
• 9:00-9:30: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
• 9:30-10:00: Dragonball (Original)
• 10:00-10:30: Bobobo-bo bo-bobo
• 10:30-11:00: Yu Yu Hakusho
• 11:00-11:30: .hack//Legend of the Twilight


The streams will be broadcasted here:

Yes, the animes will be played in order. When shorter ones like Cowboy Bebop are all done, they will be replaced.

Added an Anime slot for 11:00-11:30.

That way, we can go until midnight during any special occasion in which we play 2 episodes of one anime.

Dragonball! I watched Z Kai, but the original is supposed to be really messed up in bad ways.
Are most of them clean shows or episodes?

DBZ Kai was pretty much the worst thing to happen to Dragonball since Dragonball: Evolution and Dragonball GT. The original Dragonball isn't dirty or profane, but it's not exactly concerned with censoring itself (America didn't have the guts to air it, but Japan did and an English Dub was made. Take that how you will). Same goes for most of the animes, really, so your mileage may vary depending on what you consider "clean."

I finished Dragonball a week ago, and I'm currently about 25 episodes into DBZ (the original).

First thing I should note is, they aren't really separate series. Dragonball ends and goes directly into DBZ through a time skip no longer than the normal timeskips of Dragonball. The reason for the name change is because of the difference in tone between the two -- Dragonball started out goofy and comedic and grew more and more serious as time went on, culminating in the Piccolo arc, where several major heroic characters were killed (they were obviously revived by the Dragonballs). After that arc, the author of the series decided to change the name as a reflection of the change in tone. Sure enough, the beginning of Dragonball Z features Goku being killed.


Now, on the topic of controversial things. I watched Dragonball uncut, and the beginning of the series had some bad things in it that became less common over time. The worst thing would most likely be full nudity for Goku in some scenes. It's not drawn with any detail, but it's there. Such a thing dissipates over time. Now, as that becomes less common, however, the violence gets more extreme as the series goes on, which was also part of the reason the show got its name change 153 episodes in.


So, basically, if you're airing Dragonball, just don't air the uncut version unless that's the only version you can find.

EDIT: Although, I suppose it's too late to change anything at this point. If it's uncut, be prepared to see Goku's tiny member.

Having ten minutes of dead air between shows doesn't seem very efficient. Perhaps, in later streams, you could find some filler to put on between? I know that ToonamiAftermath plays old Toonami bumps between each show so there isn't dead air. I'm not sure what this stream could air, but I'm sure something could be found that the community would find entertaining.

Cutstuff toonami starts in an hour and a half. However, due to the overly-confusing and not very interesting nature of .Hack//SIGN, I'm putting up a poll to replace it with .Hack//Legend of the Twilight.

Legend of the Twilight is much less confusing, has more likable characters, the anime is more colorful, has a way more solid plot line, has comedy elements, and it generally thought of being very well-done. Where it does take place after sign, you don't need to have watched Sign to understand the plot and what's going on. Sign takes place many many years before this anime, and there aren't many links between the two.

Cutstuff Toonami won't be running tonight. Ustream yelled at me for "Streaming copyrighted content." Which is pretty weird for what their norm is.

So, it's been off the air for two weeks, I have to ask, is it coming back? If you're having issues with getting the stream to work on another site I understand and eagerly wait for next time, but, do you plan to continue hosting it?

Though now I realize I'll be busy tomorrow. Ah well, I can catch up easily since all I'm watching from it is Bobobo and Yu Yu Hakusho. What episodes will those two shows be at tomorrow? I think it'd be the same episode since they started on the same week, but I can't remember.
