Title: Neat Japanese Mega Man cards
Post by: Geno on August 13, 2013, 11:57:53 PM
I was snooping as usual on The Mechanical Maniacs's gallery, and I found a section about Mega Man cards.
When I looked at it, I was expecting cards with the regular game art slapped onto them.
That was about 50% of what was there.
But what was the other 50%? Why, unique art showing groups of Robot Masters, and Mega Man fighting the individual robots (as well as one group shot of the good guys).
Oh, and here's the link for lazy people. (http://themechanicalmaniacs.com/gallery/index.php?cat=39)

And for lazier people, I'm gonna post the unique art ones here.

Rockman 6

Rockman 7

Rockman World 4 & 5

I hope all this art gets into MM25: MM & MMX Official Complete Works, as they are pretty cool (The one with Terra and Sunstar/Sungod is my favourite).

Aren't these neat?

Oh, hey, I recognize the Neptune and MM Killer ones!

I remember seeing them on MMKB, since Spark Chaser never received official artwork.

These are all awesome and I would love to get a hold of them if I could.

EDIT: Just found some MM5 ones based on the first two MM6 cards. These look awesome and I want to own them.

Oh woahhh, I've seen some of these on the Reploid Research Lavatory (http://kobun20.interordi.com/) site but frik, I never bothered to look up more. So coooooool!

It seeeeems like the R25 book at least has some pages with the Mega Man X cards... not sure though. Hope for the best!

I'm mostly hoping for the Rockman World ones.

We need more high quality Stardroid art!

Are the Rockman X ones in the book the art from the cards, or the cards themselves?

Sadly, I've only seen mention of Mega Man X cards : (

Also, it looks like the images are simply scans of the cards:

Servbot #20 has a post from 2010 (http://kobun20.interordi.com/2009/06/10/the-longest-journey-begins-with-a-single-step/) with a brief overview about the Carddas lines; a very quick and interesting read. I highly recommend looking at all his other posts too; lots of interesting images like Dr. Wily with brown hair (http://kobun20.interordi.com/2011/03/25/the-riddle-of-dr-wily/) along with translated information (what an awesome dude!).
