This is the map you're going to use the Fake Man and Nitro Man tiles on, right?  It looks like they'd fit in that map.

One more question:  How did you make the bottomless pits?  I assume you just use a black floor and then some sort of action, but I don't know which.

Definitely needs some new textures. You should ditch XWE for Slumped because XWE is known for being aids

With slumped, adding custom textures is ridiculously easy.  You just have to import the images into the wad file.  Easy as pie.

Title: Re: Blaze's Map WIP Thread
Post by: CutmanMike on August 12, 2010, 03:35:21 PM
It's in a script for each map (this is changed in the final version though to try and reduce lag). Open up the cutman.wad and go to the ACS script viewer. You should be able to see a script which does a check constantly and when the player's frags = a certain amount, it changes the music. Copy this into your WAD. Note you will have to copy the "#include "zcommon.acs"" and need to compile it. You can do all this in DB2 thankfully.

I think you've got the same problem here as in Righat City.  Bigger does not always equal better.  When I was playing Righat, I got so completely and utterly lost that I became frustrated.  If you're going to make a massive level, there has to be something significant in each room that acts as a landmark so you have a general idea of where you are at all times.

Well i'm gonna say,i'm gonna Redesign Righat City...Re-Do Every thing,i wasn't happy with the Design now...

Welll i thought i would Update on the Righat City Buld,Prepare for Hugeness in the epic degree...The Stage is officially Bigger than The Original.

The Stage will Have Random Enemies Running Around (Like Fake Men,Robot Masters,Mets,Ufo Mets)

Well,here's my guesstimation:
The stage will most likely have a Huge Area To Cover.the MM2 Building Makes a Appearence in the Middle of the stage,A Few Mega Man & Ghouls Vs. Humans Cameos,References,Etc.(This stage is inspired by the Map GVH12).And a Shit-load of Weapons & items to collect.

Most Likely i might ask some Mappers to help out by Helping me with the city, like making a few Jeff Statues & other things...maybe building design

Bigger is the absolute last thing this stage needs.  It's so large already it's frustrating.  Also, how are you going to do these enemies?  Did you even plan this out?

Yes i planned this out, however there a some small tid bits i do need to attend to,

Oh god.

Please, make this stage normal sized. Every stage in MM8BDM has it's own unique size, and they're never this big. For good reason.

Yes:  Make it smaller.
Title: Re: Blaze's Map WIP Thread
Post by: Max on August 28, 2010, 06:47:42 PM
I don't mind if it's big, as long as it's easy to navigate. What I mean by this is that areas don't look the same, because it's easier to get lost in a maze of grey corridors than a mix of well, everything.
Title: Re: Blaze's Map WIP Thread
Post by: Mr. X on August 28, 2010, 07:07:13 PM
But still, there is a certain point where the map is so big that even with the maximum number of players in a match possible, it's still going to be hard to find somebody.

But i need some specific things,it is a city stage indeed, but i need to know what i should keep,& what should i get a-rid of?

I want to at least make it around maybe the size of Dark Man Castle
Title: Re: Blaze's Map WIP Thread
Post by: squidgy617 on August 28, 2010, 07:31:51 PM
That sounds okay, the size of Darkman castle.

Are you planning to use a city tileset? Like, you know, the city at the beginning of MM2? I'd really love to see a bunch of buildings and stuff, and your characters wandering around the city streets. I'd get that for sure.
Title: Re: Blaze's Map WIP Thread
Post by: Mr. X on August 28, 2010, 07:36:26 PM
Yeah, as long as it's close to the size of the stages in the actual game, that's fine.  Going way larger than that is over the top.

You can.  If you limit it to, let's say, 9 city blocks or a bit less, you should be able to keep it reasonably sized.

Eh, just go with a maximum size of 8000 by 8000 in Doom Builder, maybe less.  That's about 4 times the size of my entire Blade Man stage (4000 by 4000).

I won't because I never downloaded it.  You just kept making it bigger and it was way too big to begin with.

Oh, one more thing about this announcement.  Why on Earth do you have a big build up to announce a "new stage" that you've already shown off in a previous version?  Regardless of how many changes there have been, it's still the same stage name.

It's Differrent because i Didn't like what i added in the Versions after it....i'm in favor of this one more than the other because there is less area to traverse and it's not huge like the last one...

The Map will be out about 8Pm EST

But it's the same tileset, no?

If it's not then it's not even Cutman's stage!

And don't quote me, it just takes up too much room.

Yes, you don't need to quote the post above you.  The stage is still just Cut Man's stage rehashed.  It's not really new.

It's still the same tileset! That's what I'm trying to say! Too much green is terrible and that's why the final version is the way it is!

Yes, the final map is good because it makes for small, intense combat that doesn't make your eyes bleed.

Yellow Devil, you're basically telling him to not make the map. Isn't that a bit, I dunno, annoying?

The Mega Man Killers are reintroduced in Mega Man 10 as a special mode. They all have their own stages, and this is based off of Ballade's stage.

This looks totally badass, by the way.
