the megaman games on nintendo have jump animations so adding that will bring the game closer to the games it is based on.(megaman1,2,3,4,5,6,7) the other animation is also possible in 8 bit(existed in the final fantasy games when they were released on the nintendo) and since this game supports it there should also be animations for it. the megaman games have jump animations after all.

The only problem with that is that the tons of skins in the game (not to mention the thousands of custom skins out there) will all need a jump sprite, complete with multiple rotations each.
It's just not worth it.

The game used to have jumping animations back in the early stages, but as I recall, whenever you weren't on ground, you were "jumping" including things like climbing ladders and it looked rather bad. The other reason being making custom jumping frames for every single skin is just more of a workload.
And MM8BDM's core doesn't even support crouching, so why would we bother taking the time to provide crouching animations to every single skin? This also means that custom skins would need this too, or else they turn into crouching megaman or something...
So no, it's too late in the game's life to bring it back.

the megaman games have climb animations as well. maybe i could get someone i know to create the animation if you tell me what format you are using.

While I know it's doable, it's just a lot of work and impractical to do so. No jumping, no climbing, no crouching animations. Too much work for something so cosmetic.
