After 5 years in the making, Mega Man Time Tangent strives to be one of the most authentic fan-made Mega Man soundtracks to date. Beginning as a fan-game in tribute to Capcom's loved Blue Bomber, Mega Man Time Tangent features a story and a full cast of Robot Masters. A deep enthusiasm towards detail and optimization resulted in a genuine reference and motivator for Time Tangent Team's handful of composers. This soundtrack is composed in FamiTracker and recorded straight from a Nintendo Entertainment System for greater accuracy.

I could've sworn Time Tangent was cancelled.

..

Oh, this is a soundtrack only? I can hardly tell.

Mega Man Time Tangent is released by and in itself as a music album, one year after its cancellation. If you want to see Mega Man Time Tangent as a game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_cU9MTyCGo)

Recorded straight from a NES?

That's some next level shit right there. I'll get to the thing in a bit.

Five years in development, and little more to show for it than an MM8BDM music pack.   :|   I mean, maybe I don't get it or something, but I don't see what there is to be proud of here.  In brutal honesty, this has less to show for itself than MMU.  I know you're about to snap at me, so let me say—I know that the OST presented is exceedingly good, I know that what is presented was a labor of love, and I know you're insulted at being compared to the worst fangame ever.  But what are you?  Not even a fangame.  Facts haven't changed:  you set out to make a fangame, disappointingly failed to do so, and yet I find that you still carry yourself with pride like you accomplished everything you set out to do.

I'm beginning to think that the promised land of Mega Man fangames doesn't actually exist, now that MMU and MMTT have both so let me down, and meanwhile the games I expected to be subpar at best (Or hadn't even heard of) are bringing me the best experiences.
Title: hi hertz, also dalem's debug is good yes

The point of this topic is that this is the release of the album(hence the topic name change), not the game. The game was in production for about four years and then canceled, which can be read on a post on Hertz's or Meck's dAs.

Soundtrack's pretty good, loving those debug tracks. There's a couple songs that don't resonate with me, but I haven't heard much of them so I'll get right on that

May I point out for those who didn't actually realize:

That was intended, if I recall correctly.

Anyway, great music! I especially like IgniteMan's theme, and not because of his design. It's not actually my favorite design, anyway.

Where would've Sorairo Days fit in the final product?oh im dumb

is good, Tracks 2, 3, 12, 16, 17, 19, 21, 24, 25butthatonedoesn'tcountdespitebeingthehighlightforme, 29, 36, 37, 40 and 42 (haha) I enjoyed the most. The rest I found tolerable.

The story was good, I like Quint and time phenomena. Templar Man's idea and design are cool, but the bird is dumb. The Robot Masters in general look better in sprite form than they do in art form, I don't know why.

Any info on the Special Weapons gained from the Robot Masters?

Say thank you for what has been freely offered and stop pretending anyone somehow owes you more, douche.

Too bad, it was really canceled? The game looks cool...idk, fangames are always good when we have it.

Exemple, SFxMM hasnt a good level design, but it's always good to have a fangame who was worked....We can't blame so hard it.
Here is only a soundtrack, too bad! But i will listen the soundtrack, thank you for it anyways!
People are so hungry now...
Make a game is hard, yep.

Hi guys, it's Meckz here.

Thanks for the kind words about Time Tangent. It's difficult to explain, but we don't see it as a failed project as most people have been claiming online. We shifted our focus to Suntoad Games(http://www.suntoadgames.com) in 2011. We've decided to release our soundtrack along with some artwork, to have closure with a project that had easily a few more years of development ahead of it.

I can say there were several stages mapped into Tesserex's XNA engine(along with the debug stages), but we were long off from having a playable game start to finish. There are quite a bit of sprites, drawings, and design documents that aren't included in the bonus content. We've decided to keep them and leave it up to their respective artists to decide where to publish them.

That's all I can really say though! I'd rather not try and validate myself because of what some people have been saying online, but I'm glad anyone is enjoying the soundtrack!

The music and art are great! I think it's cool you guys decided to release an album; I like imagining what's going on based on the tone of the song and the name of the track. It also happens to be a nice way to celebrate Mega Man's 25th anniversary. Thanks!

For making lemonade out of their fangame lemon? Yeah, they didn't get their original goal, but if the only polished, finished part of the project is really goddamn good, why not be proud of that part?

I think if you can still get something high quality out there, even if it's not what you originally planned, you should be glad for what you accomplished.

I heard the whole soundtrack yesterday, and I must say it conveys a mood of it's own while sounding like authentic Megaman tracks. It really feels like a game whose main plot is about time and space. My favorite tracks were Boost Man, Flood Man, Ignite Man and Wily Stage 1.

No Megaman fan worth their salt should miss this high quality piece of work. Well done!
