The league is currently, as of 12/9/13, private to Cutstuff. We will only be taking applications for Leaders and E4 until the league has reached a reasonable size, at which point Cutstuff-based challenges will be accepted. After a popular vote of preparedness, we'll open the league to the public and seek a special chatroom on Frost Server, and perhaps a Weebly site [the general norm for PS Leagues]
Role as a Gym Leader will be based on seniority. You can only be kicked as a Leader through inactivity, significant poor sportsmanship, or resignation. Role as Elite Four will be entirely based on merit of skill, but you only risk being replaced by a current Gym Leader. In short, be better than the gym leaders. Leader replacements of E4 members will come as a case by case basis.
Players may not challenge the Elite four until they have beaten all Gym Leaders. Challengers may change their teams between Leader fights, but must keep the same species for all E4 fights in a row. Leaders only have to accept one challenge per hour while online, and may not be rechallenged by the same person for 48 hours after defeating them, unless they are the final leader left to challenge, in which case the period is reduced to 24 hours. All E4 members must be defeated without losing, else the challenge will restart. You must wait 24 hours to restart an E4 challenge.
Gym leaders and E4 members may change their team species at any time. Changing their type will require advance notice. Champions must use the team they used to beat the E4 and no other.
Current Gym Leaders may challenge the League at any time. Once they have beaten all other Gym Leaders, they may challenge the E4 as usual. An E4 member must defeat all Gym Leaders, then defeat the other E4 members plus the Gym Leader to be promoted in case the E4 challenger is crowned champion.
A champion will be crowned once a challenger has defeated all Gym Leaders, defeated all E4 members without losing and using the same team, and using that same team to defeat the current Champion (if applicable). Upon the declaration of a new Champion, the previous champion will no longer be a league member, but will automatically be offered the first E4 or Leader spot that may open in the future. Additionally, they are free to re-challenge the league.
Matches will be played in the Pokebank OU tier following all official Showdown banlists (taken from Smogon). Additionally, Leaders and E4 are subject to Monotype rules. All Gen 6 content is free to use unless otherwise banned (looking at you, Gengarite)
To elaborate on Monotype rules, all teams must have one type common between all Pokemon upon the beginning of the match. Examples:
Meloetta is legal on mono Psychic teams and illegal on mono Fighting teams at all times, even if Relic Song is used.
Rotom is legal on mono Ghost, while Rotom-W is not.
Color Change, Protean, Trick or Treat, etc. have no bearing on the Monotype restrictions.
