Sorry if this seems like a minor issue to some, but what is the deal with many servers being hosted with ridiculously large music wads?
For example, the server :: [BE] New York :: Counter-Strike Megaman Style - Go go go required me to download contramusicultimatium.wad that is 118 MB in size!
Another example, :: [BE] New York :: Lobstacle Course (+++New Music) required me to download cantstopmusicpacking.wad that is 49MB in size. (not so bad, but still annoying)
That's not all of course. I have other large music wads in my MM8BDM folder such as somerandomusicpack.wad that is 139MB in size, morerandommusicpack.wad that is 37MB in size, etc. (I could keep listing, but I'll stop here for the sake of sanity)
That's not what irks me the most however. So I download these wads, and then a like a week later, these wads aren't even used anymore and new music wads take their place. Seriously?

A certain group of people uses those last three wads to block (or at least dissuade) people from entering the servers they use. I've never heard of the first one though.

Music wads are optional. You can simply join the servers using the launcher if you wanted to.
-
Is there a way to do that using Doomseeker though?
-
Make a blank file and name it exactly the same as the music file in question.
-
This is bad server hosting though, steps should be taken to encourage hosts to not do this.

I think you'd be more annoyed with the fact that its extremely rare to be able to actually hear the music in the levels themselves since there are so many game modes that change the music.
(And extremely rare for people to play the game as it was intended to be played, but that's a different story)

Block/dissuade? No. I believe it's only for the sake of using their own choice of music in the server. However, the server is locked sometimes, but other than that, it's usually open to anyone, only you have to have the music packs to join. Being on said server multiple times before, I pretty much believe that's all it is.
@Calico - And for the record, they do sometimes add new packs, but the old ones are still there every time (although you probably already meant this).
