So... wow. From the looks of it, we just bared witness to some sort of robot uprising taking place within a dystopian classic series universe -- yet -- the trailer cuts to footage of Iris, Alia and Signas (X series characters), toiling away as if they're providing aid to the very situation at hand. Classic/X series crossover, anyone?

According to Stoo.com, the source of the trailer, the game will indeed feature characters from both series, specifically outlining the presence of classic Rockman, Blues (Proto Man), Forte (Bass), X and Zero. Just how these characters will relate to one another is unknown at this time so it's up for speculation.

Aside from the above tidbit about characters, no new details about the game were reveal. However, once again, various Korean sites are promising more details will trickle out in the near future.

If you're new to this whole Rockman Online hubbub, allow me to summarize what we know so far: Rockman Online is a side-scrolling action RPG, boasting 3D graphics on a two dimensional plane, much like Mega Man X8 and Maverick Hunter X. Familiar faces and NPCs will make up the game's cast in addition to online players.

The game is being cooperatively developed by Capcom and NeoWiz with plans to distribute the title exclusively in Korea and Asian markets by the end of 2010.  While there's been no word of a release for the West, a Japanese release is likely, if a trademark is to be believed.

Still more interested in MMU which should have more revealed at PAX this September. Hopefully some god damn gameplay.

I never really liked X myself.  No need for it, stick with Mega Man.

But uh, at first this video seemed to be EXACTLY how the downfall of Mega Man occured, and y'know, how it goes on to X.  Does it ever explain how Mega Man is oblitherated in the X series?  I don't think so.

Saddest part of the video?  Mega Man and Roll desperatly trying to reach one-another in the horde of Mega Clones.  THAT'S sibling love right there.

I never got the part with Mega Man and Proto Man fighting.  Do they fight alot in the games?  I mean BESIDES Proto Man's debut? (lolmegaman3)

The light RMs didn't appear to look hostile when Rock encountered them so it seems like (speculation on my part) they're going to team up with him, similar to how they did in the manga.

Digressing, who's loving the detail on their designs? Finally they actually look like robots instead of power rangers :p

Kinda.  Not TOO much though.

But, considering what I've heard before this trailer (It's Mega Man X, I know that's not exactly true now) I didn't expect to see Mega Man.  After all those disasterious events I concluded THIS was how Mega Man died.  But, apparently not.

Who else had something similar to this?

I dunno about you guys, but I love the concept of X. Its a great story, and I've always wanted a game that explained the intro of the series.

Now I just need to know they'll have an epic battle with Zero.

Unless it was a test of strength, then either Rock himself or the others would have to be modified with very powerful tech to even scratch Zero. Far as I know, that battle will end quick either way :p

There' no doubt Zero will be in this, in some form (probably NPC). Even if it makes no sense with the 'story', online games like this always have quests with characters doing whatever the heck they want. Gotta draw in all the subscribers!!

Since NeoWiz is working on this title, they're probably going to release in the west soon as well. They've done this with a few of their games, and I doubt that they'd keep this one to themselves.

Hopefully this game will close the gap between Mega Man and Mega Man X.

We may figure out what happened to Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass, and Roll!

Because, Dr. Wily might of been completely stopped, explaining why Dr. Light is dying of old age.

Hey, they came out with a blog if you haven't seen it. It's not a X-Classic crossover, it's a completly different story/universe. You play as a reploid with shape-shifting abilities and the 3 classes are X, Zero and Duo. Whether other robot masters will fit into these classes and be available (Guts Man in the Duo slot, Mega Man in the X slot), they haven't confirmed.

I still like that old Cutman X mockup where he has blades for arms, just like blademan. Can't find it now though.

Well it's still too soon... But by now they should at least have pics of Models in use.  


Also I was poking around the internetz for a bit a day ago regarding Rockman online. Some dude in a forum brought up a point about the Proto Man in the Trailer. Out of all of them, Proto seems to deviate away from his original design where as the others are more detailed ((Minus X and Zero really)). So there is a possibility that ((and this is supported by what Yellow Devil mentioned earlier about the blog and all))

1). Said Proto Man is the Reploid in Disguise

or

2). There is more than one of these reploids and one of them was sent after Rock. That or the other silhouette we saw in the Trailer with the odd pattern on his stomach is that false proto.

It is in the same universe. 1000 years or so after the X series, which means 900 years after Zero, I forget what time it was in ZX series, but it's the same timeline.

Rockman online, if i can have the game with "english" version (if there is) and a one player story mode, it can be cool....i have just 1mega ADSL, it's bad for a game with this graphic quality.... :/

But the teaser is really awesome, i hope it will be a good game as MM8BDM  :mrgreen:

NeoWiz is going to reveal the game at gaming trade show G-Star 2010.
I don't think that we want to fly to Korea to play a Rockman Online Demo. But there's no doubt footage will be leaked from this event.

Protoman's got yet ANOTHER redesign I see...I don't like it, it gives me a headache... and looks too much like BN Protoman.EXE (Which I despise him and the BN series).

The problem here is too much detail applied to these models that it gives off a displeasing taste.. or rather just poor design choices.

Duo's armor is too basic and boring unlike his normal design

*Zero's armor is decent to say the least but they could of mix in other colors or just add in a mix of black and white to the entire thing much like his armor in the X series. Speaking of X...
X seems alright, but I would of preferred the same armor coloring similar to his first armor in X 1. Same thing as Zero really...


*Punk?... turn all the spikes white and we won't have problems. Intimidating and interesting armor design nevertheless. Though whats with the blue?

Enker's design is sexy mainly due to how consistent it looks, unlike the others where they go crazy with sheath spiking/widening and other disgusting colors choices. I guess I should say, it LOOKS like Enker without much deviation.

*Proto Man? Sorry but I'm with RockHumanVortex on this one. Awkward design choice and too much deviation. Really does not look like Proto at all but looks like one of those guys from Gforce ((no, not that freaking guinea pig movie, I meant the anime made by the tatsunoko company)).

This'll probably be the first time I'm actually gonna play an MMO in an Asian language before  it's even released in any English form.  I've GOT to get my hands on this, lol.

So it looks like it's going to work very similarly to MMOs like Maple Story, only have much better graphics and such.  I.. think it looks really, really good myself.  

So do you only get to play as a small selection of the game's heroes, or many of the Robot Masters and other characters?  Making a totally custom Mega Man series character would be really cool, too...

Yeah, does look like and started like Maple Story.

I dunno, if RMs and Mavericks are the bosses, I guess you get to be the heroes of the serieses.

Mind you that they did say the first trailer will differ from the next and the product itself, so it's unknown as to if the first trailer has any connection to the second. Of course if you want speculation then whatever...

we can somewhat say Wily was given some type of energy source or whatnot from him to either improve his bots ((Yellow Devil's extreme size)) or create another event similar to the Robonenza conflict but with greater force and plans to use this for...uh... No news, since 2 months, for me, Classic and X are the best platform games, with the best musics, we have so much ideas about the classic> ?> X (the "?")
And now, we can see the two blue bombers together against Wily! (and sigma????  :cool:  )
This game can be a dream for me.

I remember, when there was the teaser of Rockman Online (the first), everybody was against MMU because "ugly game, bad design" and all...lol.

Without MMU, MAYBE capcom/neowiz will give Rockman Online for everybody. I want.  :)
