I typically use my Rock Skin (Which needs to be remade now. SIIIGGHHHH), MegaMan Volnutt, Helmetless Mega Man, and when it's out, I'll probably use Cut Man, he was my favorite Robot Master.

i use breakman...though i will use quickman once its out, then once my brawlman skin is made (thank you ahead of time blaze) i will use him, as street fighter movie M bison would say: OF COURSE!

Anywho, I haven't made a Ninja Joe skin, due to the fear that I'd see a bunch of Ninja Joes running around, and he is sorta my character. If I do make it, I wouldn't want people playing as it, but that's a problem, because I'm sure people would. And I want people to see me as him, too. *sigh*

Right now im using the megaman.exe skin someone made.

Something to think about, is you never see the skin you are playing as except when you die. So, it's kinda pointless to change skins unless you want people to see your likings.

To me its the thought of playing as a certain sprite that does the trick.
I think ill switch from time to time when the game is done... though ill always get back to snakeman.

well if everyone was just running around as megaman it would make the game a little bland! the robot masters are what truley makes the megaman series and you know it! although you don't actually see your skin unless you die, it's still cool to be able to play as so many robot masters!

Yup, just imagine that the cannon arm is an extension to your character. Maybe its Skullman's buster, maybe Shadowman spontaneously grew a buster arm, who knows :P

Just to throw it out there, locking files is generally looked down upon in the Doom Community. So unless the work is 100% done by yourself(by that I mean 100% scratch), locking modified content is unethical.

I'm talking a custom skin based on my character. He's my character, and I want people to see me be him, but not to play as him.
But I'm probably too lazy to do it anyway :|
EDIT: Wait, would that even work? If I made a version of the file unhidden, and I used that one, and made one that was exactly the same except hidden and locked it, could they not play as it, but I could?

I really hope there aren't too many people running around with custom skins. Because I'll say it right now; I'm not downloading any of them. Meaning they'll all look like Mega Man to me.

I totally agree. I'm actually going to delete some fan skins from my folder, they're just pointless. It's Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch not random recolors 8-bit Deathmatch.

If there's an official MM8-10 map and skin pack, of course I'll get those. I made a good chunk of MM 9 and 10s skins actually.

I'm not very familiar with Doom, but isn't there a Chase Cam somewhere in it that allows one to look at their character while playing as them? Otherwise, it does indeed seem pointless to make your own skin; either few other people are going to download them and thus you're going to be quite original with your Mega Man appearance, or plenty download it and you won't be the only one playing as the skin. And anyway, there are more than 50 characters to play as; while you won't be the only one playing as your selected Master, seeing duplicates should be rare (Unless, of course, you're playing as one of the more popular ones-in which case you can pick another if individuality is so important).
And to return to the first thing: is there a chase cam in MM8BDM, and if so, how does one activate it?

there is a chase cam, you get it by typing "CHASE" in the console.
but it makes it hard to aim + your character gets in the way of your view.

I use helmetless Mega Man but would like to make a customized version of Magnet Man. I need to find .pk3's for the the default Magnet Man and also figure out how to make customs =P I know how to make them but I can't figure out how to actually do it. That made no sense did it? =P

I personally don't care if people make skins that aren't Mega man related. They're free to make what they want. If it looks good, I'll download it.
I myself have made non-megaman related skins. The one I use the most is my own as well. Gizmo The Cat.
I never did finish Power Protoman, though...

If I'm not using a skin I made,(which I probably will) I'll be Wriggle Nightbug, a random Mother character, or some Roll skin. I tend to use a lot of miscellaneous skins, so I can't really name them all. If I'm using a default skin, I'll be Roll or Gyro Man.
I am almost always using a skin I made, though. Angel Girl is the most frequent.

If I were to use custom skins it would be Shadow the Hedgehog (2nd version mostly) that kenkoru made or if I be Mini Mario Goodness then the skin shall be the Mario Skull skin that korby made. For my default (Stock) skin I use either ringman or MOSTLY Drillman since those skins arent loved.... (especially Drillman..I havent seen a single dood use him out of my whole history of playing)

A while ago I saw one of those TouHou people use DrillMan.Now they only use the skin that their name tells so.
For me,usually either NeedleMan,FireMan,or Helmetless ProtoMan.

I'll move between at least one skin per game:
Guts Man, Flash Man, Shadow/Gemini/Magnet Man, Drill Man, Stone Man/Dark Man 2, Yamato Man, Alien/Skull Suit.

For custom skins it's really just Angelgirl or Francesca.
As for the default skins, most of the time it's Auto, rarely I use Gyroman or Crashman.

My main one would have to be the Dr. Cossack skin. That, and Compass Man are my main two. I also use one of the three Chao made by SmashTheEchidna.
For default skins, it's either Knight Man or Charge Man.

Black Mage, Black Mage and in rare occasions I'll use Black Mage.
People usually recognize me because of my skin, so I'm reluctant to change it. But sometimes I'll be Metroid, Galaxy Man and sometimes I'll run around as Mega Man because I forgot to change back from a skin I was testing.

I've recently started using my Metal Sonic skin, but I normally use Napalm, Commando, or Apache Joe.
It really all depends. I'll use anything I find to be relevant to a situation. I occasionally use Charge Man and run around saying "Chuggachuggachugga I am train." :roll:

Its so hard to tell the darkmen 1 and 3 that they might be getting replaced with either Shademan ,Cloudman, or Turbodude....

I use either Luckyman skin or Quickman-Wavebike. Sometimes I use others such as Roll skins, random skins that match what I'm doing or some other skins I've made.
The thing that stops me from using Quickman-Wavebike skin is that not that many peoples have it :cry:

Also, it was just me recolouring parts of him to look better (better hair colour, a different colour for his "backpack", grey arm and leg armor like in Legends 2). I forgot who made the original, but I put up a comparison between the two in my skins thread.

Many of the sprite artists on this forum are. Copshowguy, Brotoad and Fupoo, just to name a few.
Most of the skins are already done.

Well, anyway, I've made a couple of skins, but as for the ones I use, I like to use Comet Woman and Yoku Man sometimes. Lately I've been using my personal Lucian skin, as well as my custom Discord skin, and the Prinny skin.
I mostly convert the skins I download into bots though; so I usually battle against Discord or a horde of Prinnies. Their explosive sounds are hysterical.

Ehm! it clearly says on the title "what's your Custom MM8BDM skin?" Keyword: [Custom] meaning the skin must not be in the core game a.k.a skins you can choose from in the wardrobe area in dr.lights lab and Darkman 2 is from the core game and thus not a Custom skin so that makes your post Void and null.
