Title: Where did you get your name?

So, yeah, in this topic, you tell us where you came up/got your name from.

I got Robjoe from combining my brother's name (Robert) and my name (Joseph). If you care, the 'full' version of it is Robjoe1107, with those two numbers being how old me and him were when I came up with the name.

It was a spur of the moment for me. Combined a color with Sniper (as in an elite archer, not an actual sniper).

A cut-down version of a Halo CE level (Wartorn Cove)

I eventually cut out the Cove and just kept Wartorn

(I was very bored when I came up with the original name)

DTDsphere, the "Sphere" comes from Doom. The powerups in Doom are mostly spheres (Megasphere, Soulsphere, Blursphere/Partial-invisibilitysphere, Invulnerabilitysphere).

The "DTD" part comes from my alias.

i couldnt get my clan initials on my previous name so i had to change it and possesed just randomly popped into my head and i liked it so i went with that.

Danzo was my old school nickname, and I get called a legend a lot at work for helping out, so you do the maths.

my original username was "D-sword101" but i changed it because

1.looked more proffesional
2.the username assigned to me by a player called "twister"
which is no longer on skulltag.(or the internet for that matter.)

Origionally mine is -=Dark Slayer=-
I got that as an idea from my uncle's name, which was slayer, and a friend's name which was Dark Haxor.

Now it is more known as -=DS201=-
I got that from trying to register for a game using DS.
then a selection showed for DS201.
So I picked that.
Now ever since, I use that name more.

oh, also another thing i didn't know until recently.
My Avatar has 201 frames.
Coincidence?

In my first year of college, which was 05-06. I met a group of people called the Gamer's Guild, and when I went to join them, I saw a space for a nickname in their sign up paper. It wasn't obligatory, but one day when we played Melee, I came up with "Knux" since I needed something for them to quickly refer to me as, and because I saw a comic cover of Sonic in the mega collection CD for the GC that had "Knux" (Knuckles abbreviated) in the days before that and I thought it sounded cool.

Since them, I'm used to people calling me nicknames. It was a bit uncomfortable at first (because I never had people calling me nicknames), but I ended up having fun with it.  :)

Ah, i've used this name for the old times when i played GTA2.
Hey, why not, you steal cars in Grand Theft Auto 2(GTA2), as well as other criminal activities. Had great multiplayer, great possibility for tricks, but unfortunately very unstable, too.
Thought why not, nobody else was using CarThief as a name in any of the Grand Theft Auto series i've played.

People sometimes shorten the name to Car, or CT, too. :P
I'll probaly keep using this as a nickname regardless of what game i'll bump into in the future.

My previous nickname was Bigsquid, but I changed it 2 years ago. I just got bored of it. My current nick is a result of 20 seconds of thinking what name shall I use while playing Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

Well at first i wanted something that sounds lonely and kinda sad, so i chosed "forget soul" that was my name by a few days. Also im a fan of Silent Hill games (specially the 2nd one), so after looking  some stuff i saw a Silent Hill fan page with the title "Silent Hill: the silence is broken" after that i wanted to be broken silence (but it was a loong name lol) so i think, hey how abouth Broken Soul? and the rest is history

When I had just started playing Ghouls Versus Humans (which was, what, two weeks ago?), I got killed by Creepers a lot.  I noticed that the picture appearing on your screen when killed by a Creeper could be interpreted as him hugging a player to death.  Naturally when it was my turn to go as a ghoul, I played as Creeper a lot, making comments like "that was a good hug!" after killing someone.   So now my F1 to F5 keys are bound to various comments like that.  My name was then taken from the "Free Hugs!" meme.  I haven't came up with a better name since, so it may stay that way for a while.

I'd thought I would bump this thread, seeing as Cutstuff has grown so much since it died off. Bound to have a new round of name origins.

So to start, I'll restate mine. Only with a bit more detail.

The complete name is actually Ivory Sniper. It created as a spur of a moment when I started getting back into Skulltag Multiplayer, specifically due to GvH. So I combined two things. the ivory plant, the ivory colour, and an elite archer. Result, Ivory Sniper. When I joined Cutstuff, I decided to just use the Ivory part. It has since stuck as plain Ivory, to the point that now a days if I do use the name on skulltag, it's just Ivory. Though I will attach the Sniper part if needed.

Contrary to what was probably assumed by all given my avatar, Mr. X was NOT a reference to Mega Man or any video game...or anything for that matter.  It was some random figure-less character my brother and I made up that was essentially "what would an idiot say/do in this situation?"  Eventually, "an idiot" became Mr. X.  That's the best explanation I can give, but it's far from full.

brawlman9876 was way before i thought of the master. brawl man was made to be mega man related but i never thought of actually making a master til later. 9876 was out of pure random. i literary closed my eyes and slid my and down my keyboard, and well there ya go.

I got mine back in middle school, which was like 5 years ago. I used to draw a lot, made my own characters and such. I was always bad with names, and I was proud of my name back then, so I named one of my characters Lio. Eventually, my friends started calling me that too, so I got used to it. Now it's the alias I use practically everywhere, even though I tend to add a "cool" last name to it.

I got mine years ago(I forgot how many).
One day, I drew Kirby for who knows what reason, then, my older brother came in and drew on it. In the end, he ended up looking like this:

Anyway, I said "You ruined my Kirby drawing!"
His reply was, "No, his name is Korby now. Completely different character."

And THAT is how Korby was made. No typo, just a mean older brother(who's actually pretty awesome, and is pretty good at piano).

I got my name back when I was 12, and started playing Mario Kart DS Online. Originally I was BoltmanX, (no relation the Mega Man, sorry) because my avatar was a lightning bolt. Then I eventually changed to Camo Yoshi, because I always use Yoshi in Mario Kart and I like Camouflage. The avatar was from the nSider forums before it closed down, and I now I always use it for my avatar.

Oh, and you can just call me "Camo", for short.  :cool:

hmm, When I was 12 and I was registering on Gamefaqs, it wanted a user name. I didn't know what I wanted as my user name and the first thing that came to my mind was I liked the blue and white color scheme of Gamefaqs. I thought, "Blue is cool too" and it became my user name.

Anyways, name origin, very simple really. A lot of people shorten my real name to the first three letters, Pie and I figured, why not add man to it. And thus the name was born~

Despite the name and avatar combo, the nickname Snake actually came from the game Metal Gear Solid. It was my secondary name actually. When I was about 12 or something, I came up with a gamer name, Ripper (no relation to Jack the Ripper, dunno how I came up with it, lol).

One time I went to do laser tag and register an ID, but Ripper was taken, so i decided 'hmm, what's another cool name?" so the first thing that popped into my head was Snake.

33 is a number I like (fave number is 3) and AU are my initials.

Back in my younger days I made superhero characters out of all my friends, and mine was called J. the Blade because his weaponry was two swords. And later when WWF and The Rock was all the rage, my friend called himself The Ice and I called myself The Blade.

When I first went online I named myself after a Turok 2 enemy Lord of the Flesh. But later I realized "Lordoflesh" was really a terrible username. So for my second try I took "The Blade" and added my last name, and there you have it.

I was making a new character in Runes of Magic. An Elf kind. So what I wanted was a name that sounded like an Elf, but was still somewhat original. The result was Vyreon (forget the fact that there is a one-man progressive metal band called Ayreon -- I do not listen to his music and I swear I did not have him in mind), which I also used later on League of Legends (LoL). When first playing MM8BDM, I did not know what name to use, but Vyreon came to mind. I megamanized it and stuck with it, later that day registering at the forum as, yeah, Vyreman.

Yep, the nickname is very recent, and is subject to change. I doubt it will be my permanent nick, like many of yours. I wish I was in your shoes...it's so cool. You also get to be nostalgic when "looking back" at the origin of your name; I've had no such experience, because I switch nick like every second month. Except Simoneer -- that's something I use on a lot of sites, and have done the past 2 years, but never as something serious, and USUALLY as just a username rather than nickname (like login names for MMORPGs and such). Now you know my real name, though. Simon.

I like that name because of The Saint and Castlevania. :p

I just put one word in front of "Tengu" and "Man" which so happened to be "True" that it just stuck with me. That... and I loved Tengu Man so... yeaahhhh...

Oh and apparently people seem incapable of pronouncing this name despite every first letter being capitalized so it's also the perfect name to inflict confusion which I OOOOH SOOOO LOVE :p  ((I also wonder why those said people put soooo much F#$%ing emphasis on the "G" in Tengu... :mad Seriously... does that LOOK like it pronounces Tenju? May as well Pronounce "Good" as "Jood" and "God" as "Jod"))

Well, I've had a million billion names online and I've never really liked any of them much or used any of them that long-- actually the longest one I ever used was "Breakman" or "BreakmanDX", which would have been very fitting for here since it's from Break Man from Mega Man 3, but I never liked that name all that much since it wasn't terribly unique, just being taken from a game (no offense to you guys who use names like that, it's just a personal thing).  So lately I've been wanting to stick to just one name for good and I was thinking of all the unique names I've ever thought up, and this one seemed like the coolest/least stupid; I basically took the name Elias, which I used online a lot, which I got from a character in the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics, and added an "R" to it after I found out it was a real name that was decently common.  I dunno, it's just kinda simple and sounds cool and looks cool, so it works, and I can use any kind of avatar or whatever and still have it fit (unlike when I was using "copyrighted" names like some form of Breakman, or Yoshi, or some pokemon).

Same here. I just found a spanish to english dictionary, and looked up "Flame".
Bass is bajo in spanish, from what I read.  ;)
As for the "Hombre Llama" thing, I guess that makes more sence.

I got my name because in offline and sometimes online I jump around like a freaking maniac and dodge getting hit. From that point on was was ' T3H N1NJ4 '. I then realised that since I was so fast I attracted a lot of attension, then name myself 'T3H T4NK'. Afterwords, I said 'Screw it, im not always either.' So i just settled for 'T3H PL4Y3R'.

I use numbers because nobody wants numbers in their names, and since we use Skulltag, anyone can call himself anything he/she wants which means nobody use numbers. I wanted to be a tad different so I used numbers instead of verbs.

I was signing up for another gaming site, and I was kind of getting tired of using the same username for everything.  My last one had an embarassing typo, and I only use "Noonereally" if I feel my account will be mostly ignored.  ANYWAYS, I was trying to think of other ways that would recognize me.  At the time, two things were noticed:
One:  At the time, I found chaos a fun concept, just to watch and see how people react.
Two:  I loved to read fantasy/fiction novels.
After that, the two words clicked together.  I signed up under the name of "chaos_fantasy", lowercase letters and all.

Upon signing up for some more recent ones, I've slowly made changes.
-Capitalizing the first word:  "CHAOS_fantasy"
-Replacing "S" with "Z" (in the "wrong" spot, so nobody thinks I'm Paragon) : "CHAOS_fantazy"
-Finally, capitalizing the second word, as it looks better that way:  "CHAOS_FANTAZY"

On a related note, my name has been shortened to CF before, and I've jokingly been called Captain Falcon.

Oh boy! Someone had the name Numbskull or something and had recently started playing Chrono Trigger I started calling her Nu because her name reminded me of them. Eventually(the next day) I just took the name Nu for myself. Lydminium came from Adminium and my best best friend Lyan seeing as he had just got Minecraft. NuThetta is lame, I wanted a YouTube name with Nu in it but I wanted another Greek letter attached, I really wanted NuEta but that was taken. NuTheta was taken too so I just added an extra t and it turned out fine.

Teeman is an extended nickname from "T-man" because it was too short in some games. T-man might have came from my dads nickname "Tallman" , but i dunno.

Spinround Topperson is my temporary name for MM8BDM, it really my based on my real name, cept i "topped" it a bit. Spinround doesnt quite match "Tyrone" that well, and Topperson is "Jefferson" :cool: My favorite robomasters is actually Crashman, Topman, and Tenguman by far

I had this roblox account from like 5 or 4 years ago (I think the game sucks now). It was supermarioman891 (super gay right). Then I made Megayoshiman198, I barely knew about megaman which is the funny part. That became a youtube account. I may have been super noobitronned at the time, but I had more fun on that site then. Next I got Maple Story, I called one of my guys MrGuy891 since I wanted to use my numbers from previous aliases and I couldn't think of anything so I just spewed out male shit like Mr and Guy (stopped playing the game after 10 minute lol).
That's how my username became for almost anything I use now since 2009.

A reference to ice-nine, a fictional water polymer that freezes/melts at 114 degrees instead of 32. It's also viral and any water that comes into contact with it also becomes ice-nine. At the time, I was actually unaware of a real polymorph called Ice IX, which is not as invasive as the fictional version - I used the roman numeral IX since I preferred the look. I'm a fan of the concept, though I never use the name on skulltag because I don't like how it looks in skulltag font.

Would've sworn Red's name was a reference to X7, since I had no indication he was a fan of pokemon at all. (Second guessed myself here.)

I can't believe that I never replied to this topic.
My IGN is two parted. The "Sword" part of my name is from an old IGN that I used pretty much everywhere else. My IGN is "SwordM13X24" used in many big games. When I first came over to MM8BDM, I still used that name for a short bit, but it looked very ugly.
Since the number of folks around is hardly comparable to big MMORPGs, I decided to change my IGN. The "Savior" part came up when I decided to revamp my name for MM8BDM. I picked the word "Savior" for 2 reasons. First reason was from a Starcraft professional thin' (no surprise). Savior (spelled as sAviOr often though) is a professional Zerg player's IGN. Usually I don't quite care about Zerg players, except Savior became the first Zerg player that I liked to watch (His games are amazin'). Second reason is that I just like how the word sounds.

I can't can't lose this name. Why? Because I've always found the name "Michael" and the numbers "712" to be a very interesting combo. Most of the time, I never even used it, thanks to YouTube not letting me (probably because someone else had the same name -_-). Eventually I got a bit tired of "waluigimaster" and decided to use "Michael712" as much as possible. As the years passed, I started to use those numbers really a lot (as in REALLY a lot) and so the name stuck. I've grown to like the numbers so much that I feel dishonoured deep down when they are ignored. (I dunno, maybe I'm part samurai....)

In case you're wondering what "waluigimaster" came from....well, I kinda had to make a different name when I came to YouTube, as it wouldn't let me have Michael712. On the spot, I searched my mind for ideas, when eventually the Mario Party DS achievement "Waluigi Master" came to mind....so yeah, I chose that.

I was playing Serious Sam: The First Encounter a long time ago, and I was playing the Moon Mountains level I randomly shot the ground with the pistols (or revolvers, whatever they were called) and the debry that came up looked like beads, so I said bead and the word stuck, albiet changing the 'a' to another 'e' and hence, Beed.

Well, I had to think of a name to use for MM8BDM. It had to involve sevens, and that it would also be 11 related. So the 74 came from the 11 as 7+4=11, and to have a 7 in it. The day I started playing also was planned, as it was the 27th of the 11th month.
In order to finish the name and come up with "thatguy", I simply made sure to use a name that fitted in with the phonetic code of numbers (ex. here http://www.memory-improvement-tips.com/remembering-numbers.html), and make it so it would multiply to seven.
So I checked my name after about 7 tries of creating, I came up with thatguy, which due to the fact that t=1 and g=7 in phonetic code, it came out to be 1 x 1 x 7:t(1)hat(1)g(7)uy.
Put them all together, and you get thatguy74. Okay, I really created the name as I thought I would be that guy or something you'd see everywhere, and the 74 was just random. thatguy074 was because the thatguy74 name was taken on both youtube and skype. :/

Well, a few years back I needed a username and I chose soincblast5 (yes spelled that way on purpose) and after wanted to make a youtube account i needed a better name, I liked the blast5 part but I wanted to something that had the same ring to it, I chose Solar, and after I joined Cutstuff and name changes were not allowed I found out Solar spelled backwards was Ralos, and I use a variation on that from now on.

Well, my name origins goes back to my days in the world of webcomics, namely, the spriting community in Smackjeeves. I had started to make some Kirby-related comics, but hadn't released them to the internet (I had large amount of unreleased comics, and they probably aren't worth releasing anyway). Eventually, I manned up and went to post the comics. Of course, were I to create a webcomic on the site, I needed an account and a user name.

Now, around that time I had a personal character of sorts named Shade (who's now replaced by the guy in my avatar), a floating shadow wearing a hood (a super original name to go with a super original design). In one of my older unreleased comics, I had an author avatar (think the author from Bob and George but 83% more Mary Sue-esque) in the form of a Shy Guy in gray robes wearing a top hat, aptly named Author Guy...Later down the comic's track, it got shortened to Guy.

And thus, to create my username, I combined the two names. Shade Guy...Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? It's okay, I don't think so either.

For anyone who is a stalker interested in looking further into the world of Shade Guy, my comics are probably still on there somewhere...Don't expect A-material though.

I blame youtube for my uncreative username. I used to have youtube accounts called "surnoman" and something else, but I would forget the passwords to those accounts. I was 13 at the time, so shut up >.>
Anyways, here I was trying to think of a new username again. I can definitely assure you where I got the first part of my name. It's because blue is my favorite color in the entire world. Where I would get "brawl" from is kind of a mystery, but I think it had to do with how feisty I was as a kid. Or maybe, it came from how I enjoyed fighting games like Mortal Kombat a lot. Or maybe, it came wanting another word in my name that started with "b". I forgot the literary term, but I think that would describe wanting to add "brawl" to "blue". And so, a new youtube account was born.

I was really into Kingdom Hearts at the time (not that I'm not now), and I found I liked all the connotations of the word 'Kingdom.' I split it into 'King Dumb' for multiple reasons. It made the name an actual person, and the 'Dumb' made it funny and induced periodic loling when people would say the name aloud and understand it. The colors also have reason; 'King' is purple, as this is the traditional color of royalty, and 'Dumb' is blue because blue is my favorite color.

'Aurora' is the name of a character I created. In the books which I am in the gradual process of writing, Aurora is one of two characters who is alive throughout the entire plot  (which lasts a duration of about 2000 years in its current form), and the only one who remains alive for this time in the 'material' world (the world as we know it). He has an affinity for the natural entropy and energy of life, which inspired the name's colors which I deem 'vibrant.'

The other two names I use often are General Zelgius and The Black Knight, which, as many probably know, refer to the same character, who appeared in both Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The character's motives aren't revealed until his death in the endgame of the latter of the aforementioned title, and it suited his purposes to lead two lives: one as a renowned militaryman, earl, and, later, General of the powerful Begnion Central Empire of the Holy Begnion Empire, and the other as The Black Knight, the strongest of the Four Riders of Begnion's 'rival' nation Daein and 'loyal' servant to Mad King Ashnard of Daein in Path of Radiance. Ultimately, the reason behind Zelgius' double life was twofold: his loyalty to his secret master (and overall mastermind of the conflicts of both games) Sephiran, and his desire to become the most powerful swordsman in the world (specifically to better his master, whose skills were passed down to son and main protagonist Ike).

i used to play runescape, which my friend helped me make this name. then i started using RIP-A-NEW1, inspired by ratchet&clank. then we go to my newest name, tails doll.exe. this is after watching youtube and playing alot of mmbn. then we go to my last three names, mr. enderman, cuddle pie, and gizmo. cuddle pie came from an episode of fairly odd parents. gizmo is not from smash's fanmade, but the fact that i am great with electronics. and mr. enderman is obvious.

I got my name from a picture (I don't know if that's sad). Partially from a picture and partially from the fact that I like Tenguman. However, that was back when my name was still "Airman Tengu." My current name was derived from me being called Tango all the time by *cough* Bikdark. Then eventually everyone started calling me both so I decided just to have both of them at the same time.

A combination of my affinity for darkness (Dark) and the sudden affiliation with Riolu when I found it as a custom skin a short time after I started integrating myself into the community, that which I was the most infamous for back in the day. (Aura).

It took me a little under half a year later to realize that it was also the same name as a Battle Chip in Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue since I was only familiar with the Classis series at the time.

The story behind my names:
BioPlayerX60: I just added the first few words I thought up at the time to the default "player" tag (used to be my main tag)
Tfp BreakDown: I thought up of this name when I saw Transformers Prime's incarnation of BreakDown and I thought he was cool. I then started using this name and it soon became my main name.
Lil' Ol' Glaceon: I had (still have) a bit of an obsession with Glaceon, so when I saw Gummy's Glaceon skin I thought up of this name (For some reason I imagine talking with a southern accent with this name.)
Caboose: This one is recent. I recently started re-watching Red vs Blue again. And soon I started quoting some characters from the show (including Caboose) So whenever I feel like being a derp I use this name.

It was 2007 and I was fairly new to the Internet, I guess. I found that weird Roblox thing that nobody likes today (except for maybe Travis B. Sword and his pals), and when I signed up I just threw in the painfully obvious phrase and appended a 1 to the end because websites hate exclamation points.

That Guy Over There
Yeah, I don't remember how I got this, but I adopted it during the pre-8BDM age, where I discovered Skulltag near the end of v0.98c. Probably because I stole Chuggaa's Creative Thinker Award still didn't know what the heck a creativity was.
Then people started shortening it down to TGOT (because thatguy74 Cap'n Barley existed) and then Ken spelled it phonetically as 'Teegott' because he was that kind of guy (Kackebango called me the God of all T's this one time) and then there's all this other shit about how people bastardize my name: teegoat, teegawt, teegot, etc [I probably forgot the rest]

A big teddy bear
This is the only name that actually has a story behind it.
So there was this one time where I was in the middle school play (Guys & Dolls Jr.) and I was Big Jule. I had a green suit, gold tie, plastic snub-nosed revolver, you know, the works.
So we were having a dress rehearsal for some scenes (The part where Sky Masterson knocks out Big Jule, if I recall) and I was practicing how to fall while Sky was practicing how to throw a fake punch.
During a short break, someone went up to me (we were still on the stage just because) and said that I should stop looking like a big teddy bear.
I don't get it either.

So I first played this as "Alice the Valkyrie"(intially dark red (cr), later light blue (cv)). I don't really know where the Alice part comes from. "the Valkyrie" was because I loved playing Nethack back then and my most used classes in that game were Valkyries and Rangers. (maybe Alice the Hunter/Ranger/Archer could have been a good name).

Later on: "Alice the Ice Fairy"(always cv). This was because of multiple reasons:
- Fairies are cute
- Cirno from Touhou is a nice character
- I often played DCSS (another game like Nethack) as a Spriggan Enchanter which is basically a fairy-like thing with different forms of magic, including a nice amount of ice spells.

And now it is just "*Alice"(ca for the *, cv for the rest) . That is supposed to be a bit of a "Digital - A Love Story" reference and having my name always as one of the first in the user list is pretty handy.
And I like those litte star things.

I had some rather short-lived names in the meantime, too, but I barely remember any of them.

I don't know how I thought of my current alternate name "BiscuitSlash". I can only think of it being random luck and I am happy about randomly thinking of it. If I can think of anything that would have inspired it it's probably because I love biscuits and things like Slash Claw is pretty cool I guess. The latter thing seems less likely though.

Later on when I played X5 there was Grizzly Slash. Just by coincidence we both have similar names.

Back when I first joined CS, Kingdom Hearts was my favorite game series (still is), and due to my lack of creativity I just absconded with the main character's name and used it for pretty much everything.

Now that I'm a tad more mature and creative, I kinda wished I had chosen a more original name, but since Sora described me so well and it stuck with everyone I met, I've just decided to leave it.

Well my name comes from me favorite MegaMan character, ProtoMan.  But, since 8BDM was a MegaMan based game, I thought i would be fitting.  Then I just slapped on a black and blue color scheme on it that coincidentally matched DarkAura's old color scheme.  Because I thought black and blue looked cool together, even one of my binds used to be "I'm gonna beat you black and blue!"  with the words black and blue in their respective colors.  As a reference to the old discipline saying and my color scheme.

so way back in 4th grade, I was thinking of a name for an account on runescape, i recalled a time in math class where I really liked the equation, 7 X 8 = 56. i used Trogdor7856 for awhile, but then when i had to get an email account before 8th grade, i always thought Watzup sounded cool, so i replaced Trogdor with Watzup, and so now i always use the name Watzup7856 where ever i go

I've gone by three names, Extrememuffinz, Thunder Electros, and luigi9736. I hate the first and third names with a passion.

Extrememuffinz originated during my Xbox phase, when a good friend of mine started this "Extreme Breakfast" clan.  I went from Thunder Electros to Extrememuffinz pretty quickly, and the name still carries on my Youtube and Xbox accounts.

luigi9736 was the name I created for my Roblox account.  I was somewhere around 6 when I first created it, give me a break.  To this day I loathe my time on Roblox, with the only two good things coming out of it being a few new friends and my current username.

As for Thunder Electros, this name crapped out during my Roblox phase.  Me and a bunch of pals roleplayed all the time on private servers.  Thunder Electros wound up being the name of the character I roleplayed as, and I guess I just liked the name.

I started with Jman back when I first got a DS. I was bored so I entered it as my system name. It stuck, and I just used it for everything else. I kinda started to get tired of using it, since it was a HUGE cliche of a name... (there are so many Jmans out there, it's not even funny). I then experimented by using the name "Tex Slim" for my gunslinger on SWTOR. I liked using that name a lot more due to not nearly as many people going by "Tex". However, Jman fits the megaman theme a lot better, so I kept it for mm8bdm.

Well, ever since I was a little boy, I've always had the dream of flying. So I've always had the sky as a liking. However, I've always wanted something more and mystical to come from it than just the plain sky. So I took a more obscure color and put it in front to not only emphasize the beauty of the sky, but how mystical it can be. Thus, Azure Sky was born.

I guess it's high time I posted my reason.

When I first joined an internet site, (it was Mario Fan Games Galaxy(which I would later learn that the people in charge there are douchebags so I moved elsewhere, like this nice place called "Cutstuff". You should really go there. Everyone seems so nice at Cutstuff.)), I wanted to be called "Shy Guy", as he was one of my favourite Mario Characters at the time. Turns out that it wouldn't let me, as another name (Sly Guy) was too close to it. So I chose the net name that came to my mind, which was Geno.

And I never bothered to capitalize the name because I am/was too lazy to keep using the SHIFT key every time I log in to something.

Also, on sites where "geno" is taken/not "secure", I'll throw in 4 numbers, which are always 2925.

The reason, being that those 4 numbers were assigned to me in school for my username, and I will never forget them as a result.

Eh, Smashbro was only part of the reason.

I had the opportunity, people knew me better as Gizmo, and having no spaces in my name bothered me to no end.

Basically, how i got my name was an inside joke when i was in 3rd/4th grade, i accidentally called Sonic "Sonicbro" and it just went on from there.

So this new name here.  Waluigi is cool.  Wario is cool.  But Waluigi is cooler so he gets more of the name.

Ah, so my new name needs specification. Here's what you need to know.

A few days after I submitted Jango to Under Siege, which I first started by sending a PM to Coldfusion, I tried to create an heavy armored engineer type character with a pump-action shotgun, a rocket launcher that can be used for both rocket jumping and offense, turrets, and AOW-style land mines.

I had trouble with the name, but I came up with a good name: Ceridran. I eventually took the submission back, after what I assume was getting no response on it. Coldfusion did read it, though. It wasn't exactly information released to the public, either.

So by the time this name changing event rolled around, I felt no need to change at first. But a little earlier today, I started to think about how rediculous it is that my name is just Zero with two k's tacked on, also as the name of a company which was not of my knowledge at the time when it stuck.

Due to it's generic nature, it got taken alot. I had to constantly use the filler name Zerokken for certain things. I felt like I was stuck between a rock and many more larger rocks, not that the initial rock was easily scalable. The reason I felt this is because it's stuck so long and I've used it in many places where I can't exactly change it. I eventually gave in and submitted that as my new name.  

And now here it is, I feel glad I made the decision.

I don't really like it when people change their name. It's all right, and I'm not trying to get anyone to change their names back, but I don't really like it all that much.

It's mainly about posts BEFORE the name change which use the old name.

Also, I tend to forget who the name changed person is sometimes...

wait, who's Ceridran, and where'd Zerrok get to?

Of course, I'll eventually get used to it.

I used to go with the name of Flashman in this game, then I decided to change it by renaming myself TheFlashedCrasher, after 2 of my favorite Robot Masters. I misspelled it, and used the "Crasger" part of my name, it sounded pretty nice.
I added the "Dr." when playing Rage Roboenza but never usually removed it after that.

I got mine from (Mostly) Spectating. Whether it would be a 1 life game or a survival match, I would watch how the battles went on.
And mostly it has to do with me watching videos.

I first started playing 8BDM under the name 'Monkey 86' after this ridiculous story (http://www.pilkipedia.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=86_the_Monkey). Then "Toad Day" happened, I changed my name to Toad86, and then every time I used a different skin/class on attempts at Robot Master Days. Eventually the 'Monkey' bit seemed irrelevant so I ditched it, just keeping the '86'. And obviously, 86 is a number.

Huh, looks like I missed the NAME CHANGE party. Oh well, I'll stick to Accel for a while longer.

My name actually has a funny story behind it. I had a falling out with this friend, a loooooooong time ago... and well, I found out that he was going to be playing with us, since we were a small group that were playing the demo way before the game came out. I didn't want him to recognize me, so I quickly tried to think of a new name, and I was just like "Well, I'm pretty fast, and one of my favorite characters is Accelerator..."

I've just stuck with it for 8BDM since then.

It's possible. On one hand, I'm actually kind of attached to the name in this community, but on the other, I might have changed it to something I'm more familiar with, such as Empty Overture (my usual handle), Aetria Overclocked (my most used ingame name), or Scarlet Haze (a recent name I've been using both on other sites, and ingame.)
