Title: CD's Question of the Whenever #20
Post by: CDRom11_2007 on June 15, 2014, 04:30:36 PM
Hello people of Cutstuff. CD here with a few questions.
As some of you may know (probably not) I have a knack for asking out of the blue, generally different questions every now and then. What you probably did not know, is that there are actually purpose to those questions; to understand human thinking a little bit better. By asking them here, the greater number of responces would be great but I'm still unsure on how you all will respond to it, so I will start with a trial week (hence week 0).

Now, I promise you, this isn't just another useless topic, it has a legit purpose. Any questions about this topic can be asked during this trial week, so if your wondering about anything, ask it now or forever hold your peace (not really).

The questions themselves, like I said before, are a bit... different... However, it would be nice if you all are to answer them properly. That's not to say you can't make the answers your own. Your answers can be as stupid or as clever, as simple or as complex, as funny or as dull, or even as absurd as you want it to be, as long as that is what you think. Now, onto the first question.

Question 0:

EDIT: It's trial not trail, get it together CD

Cat.

Definitely cat.

I snuggle like a cat, sleep like a cat, I even dislike water like a cat.

I shouldn't...but I have to.

I immediately wanted to say alligator...and it would be sort of right (http://www.primalastrology.com/alligator.html)...but according to the same website, I'm more of a marmot (http://www.primalastrology.com/marmot.html).
I think that page describes me pretty well, but that website uses zodiac signs so I don't know.

EDIT: Looking over them both again, the marmot isn't entirely accurate, but I do have aspects of it.
I'll just shove my answer into alligator for now :ugeek:
Title: The birds and me
Post by: Shade Guy on June 15, 2014, 05:49:12 PM
The closest thing to an animal I identify with is my birds shirt: a blue long-sleeve buttoned-up shirt with small, repeated images of a bird in flight printed on it. It's my most cherished shirt; it's the one I've gotten the most compliments for and I wore it to my high school graduation. Me wearing it continued to coincide with important events for a while after.
These days, I wear my birds shirt to events I expect to be good. So in a way, the birds give the event my blessing. I guess that's enough for a bird to be my spirit animal. Preferably a group of birds, but that may not be allowed.

It's undoubtedly the Canadian Lynx. When I was around eight or nine I was walking around the back trails of my grandparent's place, it was a wide trail that kinda' served as a place to drive around in ATVs or Snowmobiles but I liked walking through the path, too. The path got kinda' neglected after a while and had abandoned things like a chicken coop and old cars and buggies.
So one day I'm walking along that path like I often do and only about twenty-five feet or so ahead of me, out comes this big ol' lynx. It walks out into the center of the path, stops, stares at me. I just stare back. Lynx determined I was not a threat and then walked into the bush on the other side. Gone as quickly and silently as it came.

From there on I learned about the animal. It's supposed to be very rare to see one, especially that close. I also learned that my area is at the border of their habitat, another reason it would've been unlikely to encounter it. They also don't sink in the snow, have awesome pointy ears and are notoriously difficult to trap. Very cool animal, they're like the elves of the big cat world.

Being such a badass, stealthy and noble animal how could I not call that my spirit animal?

Well, I used Legogator's link, and got this. (http://www.primalastrology.com/pit-bull.html) There's quite a few accurate parts, I suppose, but there's also several parts that are entirely incorrect.

According to some of my friends, I really remind them of a Red Panda, so I'm going to have to go with that!

I got the Firefly (http://www.primalastrology.com/firefly.html)

Seems accurate enough.

Except for this part: "They try hard to be optimists who want to see the world as a happy place"
The world is far from a "happy place". I'd rather not illusion myself in the belief that "everything is all swell".
And this: "Fireflies are sensitive."
I am far from that. I'm one strange and insensitive fellow, if I do say so myself.

Reading more into this, I find that there are a few more inconsistencies, but hey, I'm not one to believe in this stuff, anyway. I find it interesting that it got a few things accurate.

Here's a list of statements about the Firefly personality I don't agree with when it comes to mine.
(If you're some weird stalker-fellow, then now's your chance to come to conclusions about my personality.)

Typhoons.

I like 'em 'cause it gets rather cold when the winds are high and the rain pours hard.
Also has that distinct rain-smell.
Stuff like work and school gets canceled, too. So that's fun.

Stops getting fun when the flooding reaches up to the 2nd floor, though.
Even worse when flashfloods whisk away houses.

Sorry for being a day late with the new question, but better late than never, right?

Something about the last question: it seems, not everyone really registered what their answers meant. 'Natural Disaster: a natural event (such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane) that causes great damage or loss of life.' Stating something like friendship *cough* Rui *cough* kinda presents it as something you like, but is harming to you and/or the people around you. Just thought I should put that out there.
Now, onto the next question of the week!
(click to show/hide)
This is one of the more known questions I ask people, but the answers are still different, and relevant enough to matter. Again, this is one of the questions I'm more interested to see people's answer's to.

Create a sacred object containing a portion of my power, akin to the Triforce from the Legend of Zelda series, and hide it in a place where I can access it after the day is done. It would take me more than a day to do something worthwhile as a god. It would probably take me more than a day to think of what to do, too.

Why just me? I'd make everyone God. Literally, the best party ever. We'll see what hasn't been seen on Earth, mess with Time and Space, do Limbo in Limbo, check out a metal concert in Hell, make some proton packs to screw with the ghosts and then wind down in Heaven, chilling in the clouds and stuff.

It's super cheesy and idealist I know, but tell me that wouldn't rock.

I'd probably spend the day with her in whatever afterlife your god / interpretation of "God" is associated with and/or bring her back to life. Depending on which would be possible of course ... and whether or not she would actually want to be alive again.

I miss her so very much.

And I would do some ... some things for some of my friends, I guess. Like, help them with some of their problems that could use some divine helping.

Well, my eyes are basically a weird shade of blue/grey/green.
Like, they mostly look like something between blue and grey but they sometimes look green. I guess it depends on ambient lighting and such.
I really like them the way they are, although ... I guess having them be a little more greenish and less grey would be nice.

... The one thing I would really wish for, related to my eyes, would be to be able to cry, though.

Also, a think about the last question, I noticed that no one had any duel colour eyes as their colour. I was expecting at least a few answers along the line of "one eye white, the other eye crimson" but, oh well. Now, for reals this time, On to the next question of the week!

Eh, I googled things.

The most expensive submarine in the world costs $2.3 Billion and is actually a submersible yacht.
http://www.ealuxe.com/expensive-submarines/ (http://www.ealuxe.com/expensive-submarines/)

Then, there's the Tianhe-2 supercomputer in China.
http://news.sciencemag.org/technology/2 ... -1-ranking (http://news.sciencemag.org/technology/2013/06/chinas-supercomputer-regains-no.-1-ranking)

It costs $3 Billion.
The Tianhe-2 runs at 33.86 petaflops which is about twice as powerful as the Titan (a supercomputer from USA that was ranked #2 last year and costs $945 million).

Petaflops.

A few things about this question:
1.Take note to the 'think', not 'want'.
2.Medieval consists of stuff like archer, mage, warrior, etc. You must be a human class thought.

I think I would be the guy who brawls, because as much as I'd like to use cool weapons(especially a bow), they're a bit too heavy during that era so those monsters and villains will answer to my fists.

Oh, and besides, I can't even name a medieval weapon that suits me.

Actual 1. I stink at ranged combat, both IRL and in games.
2. Warrior kind of seems underrated, in my opinion.

A bit more of a personal question than normal, but I still think the answers are relevant. Remember, no one is obliged to answer the question. If you rather not say it, then don't.

Also, something to note about the question:
A mistake doesn't technically mean something bad, just something that didn't go as planned. Maybe you accidentally put in an ingredient and now you have your favourite food. Maybe you accidently miss typed and stumbled onto mm8bdm. It could be anything, but what I am looking for isn't technically what happened due to the mistake, but what you did wrong and what it caused.

KAP01, MMBMUS.

KAP01 was awful but I learned a lot of stuff from it, it was fun to make and to an extent explore, and the music was fun to use.

MMBMUS was awful and awfuler, but it's at least become a fun laughing stock as far as MM8BDM maps go (at my expense, but I don't mind since it's my fault) and it's fun to poke fun at it whenever it pops up.

I was atrocious back then, wouldn't listen to feedback and genuinely thought it was good at the time. Though, it was fun to learn how to map and I've improved quite a bit since then.

And of course, I listen to feedback now~

Favorite: Proprioception (the ability to know where your body is relative to itself). I think knowing how I'm positioned on the fly without having to look at myself is very nice. No real cons, just a convenience.

Least favorite: Nociception (pain in all forms). The discomfort it causes outweighs any form of life-saving actions that occur on a day to day basis.

I'll be honest I'd probably bank on milk - it's healthy enough that I'd never need to rely on another beverage for not killing me, and I generally like the thickness and the flavor to it more than water (which is also very good, but my point remains).

It also complements food in general better if you ask me, but I guess it depends.

It's time for the next Question of the Week!

Of course, it's safe to assume that food for the animal is provided already, however, area for the animal, bathing it, and just plainly, "Can the animal actually survive in the tempurate area you are in?" come into play. But still remember, be as exotic as you want, just be resonable about it.

Honestly speaking?  An owl.  The concept of having a fully domesticated bird hanging out with me at home just has a lot of appeal.
not to mention they're just adorable little fuckers

When I say "hanging out" I mean without a cage.  It'd be pretty neat to be sitting here throwing my life away on TF2 again while some owl just sits perched on the armrest or something.

Honestly? I'd be very happy with just a little kitty cat. Maybe that's boring, but few critters appeal to me more.

I'd also like to have a rabbit, though, perhaps even more than a cat simply because it would be a novelty to me, having never had one before. They are soooooooooo cute and I've always wanted one when I was little.

Even those two aside, a bird of any kind would be really nice. Having a companion with the ability to fly would be super cool. Maybe a Hummingbird or a Parakeet. A lot of birds can build really strong bonds with their owners, I hear, and I think that's super sweet.

Even even aside from those, I'd be happy having really little critters like snails or insects as well. I actually used to adopt snails every now and then when I was little, feeding them lettuce and watching them ooze around all day. I probably wouldn't want to confine an insect to a household all that much, but having one that would recognize and like me would be dreamy.

I like animals too much aaaahhh

I love cats. They get a bad rep from dog owners of how they can be disobedient, and how they can be emotionally aloof from their owners, but I would argue against that. I'd say because it takes more effort to raise a cat, it's more rewarding. They can be very loyal friends if you earn their trust. There have been times where I would be feeling sad, or sick, or both, and one of my cats would gently walk up and try to make me feel better.

The only real downside that can't be overcome is that they get hair on everything :I

Yea, it could be the easiest question to answer, but the fact of the matter is, the smallest of details are required for the answer you have. As such, any and all answers would be helpful. Also, possible answers would be 'flat, cotton pillows with no cover' or even 'I prefer not to use a pillow'. Be descriptive, however, a 'why that type?' isnt required.

(the latter of which I tend to use (along with the thin one) as a prop against the wall when I'm sitting down) I only sleep with two though, and which ones vary. If you didn't realize, I stop the CD's Question of the Week a good time back. This was because I wasn't able to post for 2 weeks, so I kinda just didn't because I missed 2 possible questions to ask.

Although, after think up some new questions, and just missing asking these questions to you guys (and gals), I think I'll start back! Yey!

However, there will be some new changes:
1. My schedule has become even more busy now that I'm in Form Lower 6 (Grade 11 i think), so I won't be able to post new questions every week. As such, This will now be CD's Question of the Whenever!.
2.
...actually, that's about it.

Without further ado, it's time for the Next Question!
(click to show/hide)

Also, another thing I wanted to ask. Did you guys(and gals) actually enjoy/look forward to the new question? I just did it for my research, so I never payed too much attention to it, but if I know you guys enjoy it, I never would have stopped. Saying you all didn't won't make me stop, or even affect me in any way, just so you know.

Possibly coffee. I like consuming that stuff from time to time, so what bad will it do if I TASTE DELICIOUS?

Also, my epic comeback to answering these questions.

Guys, its happening again... I'm running out of questions! Oh the humanity! As such, you might see some questions which I scrapped asking you guys because it just doesn't seem as effective, or it doesn't help give me the results I look for from this sort of forum layout. With that out of way,

It's time for The Next Question!

Also, as a fun little game to add to this, don't describe your dream house in particular and let other people try to guess what it would be like.

Wow, only one response... To be honest, I kinda expected that, especially with how difficult it is to answer the question. That's actually why I didn't ask it originally. Well, good news, the next question is a new, and proper one this time. Kinda weird that I thought about with the huge writer's block I have at the moment. With that out of the way,

I really like this question, and have no idea how I thought about it out of thin air. Exams cause me to have writer's block, so even I'm confused on how I thought of it. Like really, I can't think of a new question for the life of me, but still this one comes out of nowhere.

Also, if you think I said a lot this post, it's because I just had a Snickers and I'm a bit hyper.

No idea what I'd call it but I think writing a book about time travel would be fun, since the concept of time travel has always fascinated me.

A city in a really, really bouncy world that where everything feels like jelly.
Mostly comedy and light-hearted due to the setting.
It's kinda hard to take things seriously when your world is warping and swaying underneath and around you.
