Title: Lack of Mod Discussion Area.
Post by: Jdude330 on June 27, 2014, 12:29:12 PM
I know, we have projects, but those are FOR projects. I want a folder for when you are just messing around with multiple mods or a mod that doesn't have a page on the forum (justiderp, 8bitdeathsmash) For example, Minecraft forums has a mods and mod discussion. Why can't we?

Aren't mods projects anyway?

What about Help/Editing?

Most people seem to use 8BDM Discussion for mod discussion.

I agree that we don't really have a designated area for it[I usually tell people Help & Editing, but the forum describes that board as the "tutorial board"], but I'm not sure if we really need one, given most people talk about mods in the mod's topic.
Could be proven wrong, I don't know.

Minecraft has a massive playerbase, and a community that is far exceeds our own. Their needs should hardly be considered our needs. As of now, most discussion takes place in the mod thread, which is the intention. Most of the time, mods aren't even discussed on the forums anyways, so even if the information winds up in the thread to begin with is a good thing. Adding a new location where an author would have to keep tabs on to see if anything about their works is mentioned in it is just adding another place to monitor, which I don't agree with.  The most I would do is make an offtopic mode discussion thread, but not a whole subforum.
