YES!!!!

I have only played the GBA and DS games of Castlevania... but i love the entire series  :)

Im thinking of doing a speedrun on the DS games some time.
My favorite games are Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, mainly because of Soma Cruz. that dude just kicks ass!

I am a huge fan of the Castlevania games, both classic and RPG style (but to hell with the 3d ones). Bit sceptical about the new one coming out, but we'll see.

I also wrote an FAQ for Portrait of Ruin!

People give Castlevania II a bad rap, but it's one of my favorites.

And it lays the foundation for the "metroidvanias" of the future.

I really like CVII since it actually requires this moronic thing called THINKING! GASP!

Ooh, a Castlevania topic.
I started with Rondo of Blood and SoTN (Dracula X Chronicles + 10 dollars due to it used = WIN), and although Rondo was hard (third level raaaagh) it was fun.
SoTN was awesome except for the fact that too many weapons just broke the game in it's entirety. Most people associate the Crissy/Alucard Rod trick forbeing the "nuke" of the game, but there is the lvl 99 sword familiar, the Ring of Varda and most of the alucard armor that just make the game easy. It is one of my favorites, though.

I've recently finished Dawn of Sorrow, now working on the Boss Rush. It's pretty much rates right inbetween Rondo and SoTN for me.Chaos Ring and Iron Golem = Best thing since sliced bread. Oh, and sorry for the bump or something
I have yet to play the classic games, though. I might start playing those later, probably starting with the first one.

Recently finally played the first one.
Level one was easy, then I got hit in the face by Medusa heads a lot in level three. I stopped playing. I should probably beat it sometime.

For shame, Korby.  I didn't start getting frustrated and ragequit repeatedly 'til level four!

New CastleVanias look rather boring and way too easy to me.  If anyone can prove me wrong about this, I will be pleasantly surprised.

Anyways, I have CVI and CVIII downloaded on my Wii.  I've beaten CastleVania, and I'm at a watery-ruins-type level on CastleVania III.  The glass dragons are ba-aaaaack...and they're annoying as ever.

It was late and I had better things to do with my time.
Like procrastinate doing homework.

I had also tried Symphony of the Night awhile ago, but I never really liked it.

I get killed on Level 2. :ugeek: Your argument is invalid.

Quoting an old post, yes.

But I find that Castlevania II was also similar to Zelda II.

So why do people hate CV2 so much, but love Zelda 2?

Lords of Shadow is fun, it mixes action with puzzles.

Then again, I am fairly easily pleased with games.

OH MAN
Just got an Iron Golem soul... again (that makes two!). And I wasn't even trying to get it, either (ex: no Ghost dancer equipped, no Soul Eater Ring equipped, didn't farm it like a dairy farmer, etc)

I hated getting that soul on my first try. Kinda hilarious that it pops out of nowhere when I wasn't trying to get it... (last time took me about 90 kills)

It was the poor grammar and the irrelevance to Castlevania in its intirety that turned me off.

It's probably the fact that:

1: It was long
2: It really wasn't needed
3: It didn't have fitting music (though, this is the least important factor)
4: The video's pretty slow...
5: Simon wouldn't knock out random villagers.
6: Why would random villagers, from medieval times, be saying "NOOB"?

What I really want are Castlevania + Simon's Quest (single game) and/or Dracula's Curse remade/expanded in the Eclessia style.  World map interface for side-scrolling stages = hells yeah.

As long as they don't go all Sonic Unleashed style, NemZ...

On an unrelated note, just before typing this post, I can now officially claim that I have beaten the first Castlevania. SPAMMING CROSSES.

Hey guys, just got my first Castlevania game, Symphony of the Night.

Not very far, but its certainly fun. I hope you get to use whips/chains/whatever again as Alucard, because I only got to use it as Richter, and it was so much fun.

Can you... get a whip...?

Either way, still a great game, but that was stinking fun. And either way, Alucard is officially my favorite Castlevania character. Even if its my first game. He's just too cool.
