All is here, megaman is third between Monster Hunter and Street Fighter.
http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/busi ... sdata.html (http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/business/salesdata.html)
For a serie who has some storyline and a lot of "number" (idk how say), like Megaman EXE 1...3...5, MMZ 1-4.
I think the number of sales is not so bad for a serie where a lot of people dont like try new serie (Exemple, i would want star Rayman games but i want start from the beginning and a lot of people dont like to "enter" in the atmosphere of a serie (They dont know) because You need to DO all the games (to be a fan or something.)
A lot of megaman games are not or HD NEXTGEN (except megaman X7, Star force was just 3D style'), i mean really HD/3D anyway, i mean like Monster Hunter, by exemple or the last Street Fighter 4....the last games We had were mm9 and 10, it wasnt so bad, what could happen if we had a megaman NEXTGEN ?...like if there was a rockman online style...
And in the occident, specially europe, we never had some entertainement TV SHOW except for MEGAMAN 2 (who had the best sales of all the megaman games....) and some megaman games like the EXE serie, were never translated in french (or rarely like MM battle network double team DS or MM9).
Well, it could be better, but i think, the problem is from the tv show where megaman didnt have a lot of this kind of things in occident (i have never seen a tv show for megaman since mm2...
But the big problem is from Capcom, do they think Megaman is not enough good to "get money" for the company?
I think, they didnt use the full potential of the serie...except for now with the megaman on virtual console (well, it's never too late xD )
(like http://www.rockman-corner.com/2014/08/m ... tpass.html (http://www.rockman-corner.com/2014/08/mega-man-5-hits-wii-u-vc-streetpass.html) =
I think, a good game could be like rockman online, but with the true heroes (not only DNA) with a mix of 2D and 3D (like sonic generations)....it could be cool. (just my idea).
What do you think guys, can capcom give a new chance to megaman? Or it's maybe dead? There is a lot of goodies recently, but i dont know what i must think about that....

Damn, expected Ace Attorney to have a little bit more under its belt. Around 7~8k, at least.
When it comes down to it this really doesn't say anything other than objective facts, so is there really a need to fear over anything? If anything being in the top 3 is an honor, and is much better than how I thought Mega Man was actually doing as far as sales. If definitely doesn't spell doom and gloom for the series in any eyes, especially not Capcom's.

Indeed..a capcom guy from capcom unity told me "We prefer work on a complete game than just 8 bits style", we want a big megaman game who will be fun to play for everyone" something like that.
So, let's wait, YEAH!

I think if Capcom were to sell off the Mega man property by itself, it would make the most sense to sell it to a third party like Sega, as much as it would be cool to have it sold to Nintendo it, severely limits the market for this property.
I bet we will see more Megaman next year though, as with his inclusion in Smash, Megaman will get a lot of new exposure to a new audiance, and when they added the Fire Emblem characters, fire Emblem games started doing much better in North America, when before they were very under the radar.
So Capcom having Nintendo use Megaman in Smash as a character, is the best marketing the Megaman property has ever had, and I predict a major resurgence of the blue Bomber sometime between now and the not too distant future.
Perhaps there is even a Megaman related game already in development ;)
From a logical standpoint, it would be very good business to announce a Megaman game announcement around spring of 2015, for a release before spring of the following year. That would give a good 4 months of people aquainting or re-aquainting themselves with Megaman after the Wii-U release of Smash.
