Title: Pokemon D/P/Pt: So I heard you liek catching 'em all?
Post by: Knux on September 14, 2009, 05:56:12 AM
I was just wondering if someone around here plays Pokemon, simply because I'm addicted to it. And uhh... yeah. That's about it.  :D  *runs*

I'm currently playing Platinum. Beat it and I'm getting my 100+ EV Trained Pokemon from my Pearl game transferred to it, including the events. (I missed Manaphy though.  :( )

...ehhh, I never really did like pokemon considering the story-line was awfully vague. And even in the first movie, the entire franchise attempted to say fighting was bad (thats stupid because the Pokemon' Series [TM] gains it's entire profits from fighting stuff).

That being said, pokemon' isn't really gonna be on my favorite list anytime soon   :-|

Though, I will be honest, they're was a decent 4Kids protected show which they made their best, even though all scenes went too slow and the episodes didn't fit together what-so-ever. Tried to be more like a Sit-Com' which didn't really get me cause they were... basically moving all the time.

There's just enough for me to say that Pokemon' screwed up BIG time.

Sorry to any Pokemon' fans reading this, but it's just another opinion in the ocean. If you got something to say to this, quote me to try to prove me wrong after you look through every episode and movie, every game, BEATEN them... and then tried it again just to sap through the story-line.

EV training is disgustingly boring and slow, so I only fully trained my Kabutops and... I can't even remember the other two  :-| It's been a long time. Probably won't get back into pokemon now unless Nintendo grow the balls to make a pokemon MMO

Now that would make a full time Pokemon fan instead of a doom one. not really

I own Platinum, since I knew they were just going to have that better version anyways. I have to say I was rather annoyed with it. Pokemon hasn't been good since G/S/C Era IMO. Now on that topic, I'll probably get Soul Silver or Heart Gold.

Also one important thing to remember: NEVER COMPARE THE ANIME TO THE GAMES! They are two entirely different things. Even to this days, the script writers still have no idea what they're writing about. You still see thunder beating ground and oddities like that.

Yes indeed. That's why I do it at night when I can't fall asleep!    Also, I'm seeing a lot of requests for a Pokemon MMO. If they do one, I'll probably get into it as I've never played that type of games (but I know what they're about). I got Platinum because of the new features it offers, like recording battles and uploading them to the world, among other goodies. As far as I've experienced, the games are better than ever now that you can trade and do stuff over Wi-Fi. Good times...

Best of all, no one will be hacking a party of Mewtwos anymore. That used to be so annoying...  :)

Can't forget using your tail as a ground and aiming for the horn!

Anyway, I enjoy the Pokémon (So far, I'm the only person in this topic to get the name right =P) games. I so far own all the mainstream games, even Green Version. I have completed the Dex on Red, Fire Red, and Pearl, so the only Generation I still need to do is 2nd Gen. Also, yes, I did hack to the Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus events, but only to activate the events, not to give me any better chance of catching them (And I never used my Master Ball =P)

Also, the animé sucks ass, especially the 4Kids dub, never compare it to the games.

I never honestly got the name wrong. Infact, none of us have. The line above the "e" is the thing your referring to, im guessing  :?

Not a good reason to call it "only person to get it right". I personally don't have that symbol on me, and I don't really like to go fetch numbers and letters and symbols just to correct my spelling.

Plus, Off-Topic Question : Why do I always happen to find "=P" in your post? It seems... over used >_> Of course anyone can say I easily over-use something.

And im not over-exaggerating. I've seen "=P" in every post of yours
rofl.

Well, I don't hack my games, but if I had to hack something just for the lulz and to use it in-game, it would look something like this:

Froslass (Yurei) @ Focus Sash
Naughty nature
EVs: 200 Attack, 58 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed
Ability: Snow Cloak

- Shadow Ball
- Glare
- Perish Song
- Explosion

Dusknoir (Jiterskull) @ Leftovers <---Missing a "t". 10 character limit to names.
Adamant nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Attack, 6 Defense
Ability: Pressure

- Crunch
- Giga Impact
- Screech
- Superpower

Gengar (Sjas) @ Choice Scarf
Modest nature
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed
Ability: Levitate

- Shadow Ball
- Hyper Voice
- Mirror Coat
- Focus Blast

Bannete (Creeper) @ Life Orb
Adamant nature
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed.
Ability: Insomnia (Because the Ghouls never sleep.   )

- Shadow Sneak
- Thunder Wave
- Will-O-Wisp
- Scary Face

Also, these as the humans:

Scizor (Shiny, Marine) Shiny Scizor is Green.
Gallade (Hunter) Hmm...
Metagross (Shiny, Cyborg) Shiny Metagross is Silver with a little Gold.

Maybe I'll edit this post later and finish their movesets.

I play pokemon every now and then.
I play it on my mobile phone using meboy, which has no support for speeding up and cheats, like VBA.
I hardly play anything above crystal.
I am currently trying to finish crystal.
I have already finished silver.

i really dont understand how pokemon is always alive, i know what is a great game, but the unique ones what i recommend to buy are the ones of gba, because that one have good gameplay, but actually exist so many pokemon games and so many of them are the same stuff whit minor changes D:

Perhaps you're on to something about this. Maybe they're just regurgitating the same gameplay on us with a change here and there and feeding on our lint encrusted pocket change. But I like to look at Pokemon as a growing series. The battle style and formula of gameplay has always worked for the series, and games such as Mystery Dungeon and Ranger (Ugh... nauseous...) failed to capture the entertainment and fun of the original games, and thus their sales went lower than the main series. This could've been Nintendo's try at proving their theory of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

They're always trying new stuff. It's what they do. But not everything new will always be a good thing. Think about this like you would think of older games being better than some crappy new ones currently in the market (Examples: Wii Shop Channel, re-makes of older games, etc). What Nintendo has seen in their sales chart reflects what gamers like the most, and which games are the cash cows of the industry.

Gaming are serious business.

251 pokemon is enough.
I have only played above leafgreen for a while, but all those new pokemon sucked, especially in names.
I am sticking to crystal and below, oh and pokemon brown aswell.

try playing it...
you need a "pokemon red.gb" file, which can be found in the internet :P
Link Jitterraped
you will need an IPS patcher to patch the .ips to the red rom.
and here is an emulator if you don't have one.

I think the 1st link was to the pokemon brown patch file which is free, and the second link it to the patcher program that is also free.

Yup, I saw an episode where a MAGIKARP owned Piplup and Pikachu.
I mean WTF, Magikarp is like, the weakest pokémon.
