Title: Progressing to the next chapter?

I cannot manage to progress to the next chapter of this game.  I beat all the levels, and had the Special boss battle with the yellow Devil. I then returned to Dr. Light's lab, but I'm not sure how to enter the levels based on Mega Man 2. It just has me playing the Mega Man 1 levels over.

Jump into the chapter selection teleporter and hit strafe right or strafe left to select a chapter.

No but you can skip levels by using "nextmap" on the console. You have to beat the final level of the chapter though to fight the boss and unlock the next chapter. If you skip past the level where you're supposed to fight that chapter's boss, you won't be able to fight any other bosses. In other words, if you started on chapter 2 you'd have to use nextmap to skip to Dr Wily Castle and win that bot match to unlock the boss and beat him, then start chapter 3.

Can the single player Campaign be played Multi-player in a Cooperative Humans vs. Bots setup including the Bosses?

Unfortunately not, although this could be a fun future project. We'll see  ;)

Another suggestion I have is that in the future, regular enemies be present that you could enable or disable in deathmatches,
