Title: Single Player Questions

I have read a few of the threads here and it SOUNDS like there is a single player story mode.

Is that true?  And if so, is it like playing old school doom only with Megaman Characters?

There is a single player mode.  It puts you in a chapter containing bunch of deathmatch modes with bots and each chapter has an end boss.

Sort of, but not quite.  It's more like playing Quake II (since you can jump and there's a few over/under platforms and such) with Mega Man characters, weapons, levels, and so-forth.  There's six chapters in total and a boss battle at the end of each chapter.  And when I say "boss battle", I don't mean like the "boss battles" in Doom. It varies, but the ones I've played are all essentially 3D versions of classic Mega Man boss battles.  How awesome and nostalgic is that?  :D
