As you may know, Minecraft is a hit sandbox indie game filled with pixels and blocks. But recently, Microsoft, a big name triple-A company, purchased Mojang, the company behind Minecraft, for a whopping $2.5 BILLION, and people are freaking out over whether Microsoft will add DLC, monthly charges, etc. But I have found the REAL reason they bought it. Microsoft is working on a new system, the HoloLens. Imagine a cross between Oculus Rift and Google Glasses. It doesn't take Einstein to put two and two together here, but there's more. Microsoft let a reporter from TIME Magazine beta test the HoloLens, and guess what he played? IRL Minecraft. Microsoft bought Minecraft so they could make a VR Minecraft! And it will pay off for them without DLC or monthly charges, after all, people have been making Oculus Rift mods for Minecraft for some time now, to experience it in first person. Overall, Microsoft has found a way to make everybody happy! ...Unless they're douchebags and add DLC and/or monthly charges anyway.

Boy, I hope you're right.

Do you have any sources for this?

Part of it is the TIME article I read, part of it is internet research, and the rest is common sense combined with speculation. I don't have a link to the article though.

Makes sense, though it will be interesting to see whether Microsoft blocks it comes the final release. I would suspect not, as Windows 10 has so far been about choice.
