I know this sounds stupid but can you make it so when you charge the duo fist it doesnt have the energy thing that blocks a quarter of the screen?

The only way I could think of is his drawing his hand back as if preparing to pack one hella of a punch.

We could have the same animation we have now, except having the HUD pull back when charging.

This has always, always bugged me. I remember there being a suggestion about it, I'll put it in pending for now and likely just move the offset down a bit.

I have no idea if this change is enough or the energy thing has to be redone completely or whatever. It certainly feels more comfortable to me.

but how's it look when you're not charging like, is the fist always awkwardly clipping at the bottom of the screen? does it move down while charging? what

The uncharged is unchanged. When it begins the charge, since the arm moves to change angles already, it retains the same animation, but a different offset.
...I can't tell if that makes sense. The arm moves down to that position.

After seeing the HUD without the aura (in LvW, at least), I can safely say I would not miss it if it were removed. The clarity perk well outshines whatever flavor the aura may add.
Of course, if that doesn't happen, simply changing the offset would be satisfactory.

I wonder if making the charging effects semi-transparent(in the PNG file), instead of changing the offsets would suffice?

If it works fine in-game, I have no complaints. A number of things already use transparency, so the whole "straying away from NES aesthetics" argument would be moot.

Alrighty applied transparency to the energy, but I wanna know whether or not I still need to slide it down. I'm in favor of moving it down still, but I want more opinions. Old offsets: (http://i.imgur.com/e3m4317.png)

I'm all for new offsets, though if the hud effect was a bit more transparent, the old offset would still be kinda alright...still doesn't beat the new and semi-transparent offset.
