Title: Megaman Supreme: Homebrew Idea
Post by: epsitec on May 21, 2015, 08:18:45 PM
Hello!  I'm new to this forum, so bear with me.  I have this huge idea for a Megaman Homebrew, and possibly an entire series!  I have no skill at all in programing (or romhacking, but i don't want to hack roms to do this), so I'm seeing whether;
1. somebody can give me advice on how to do it
2. some people or body who is experienced and will use these ideas to make the game

Here is the plot and stuff:

After Megaman Unlimited, Dr. Wily is dead, but Zero the prototype robot still exists.  Dr. Light introduces to you to plans for X, improvements to your current body in the Hunter X becomes.  The inbetween state between MM classic and X bodies is called "Supreme".  In this first game, Megaman gets the buster upgrade.  It's the only upgrade he gets in THIS game.  In the 2-5 games, Megaman must find the upgrade in a master stage.Zero hires 8 robot masters to challenge Megaman "Supreme". One of the Robot Masters will be a Megaman Killer, an antagonist to Megaman, and he is extremely difficult to defeat.  The final boss will be Zero, but you can't kill him, and can't "kill you" (you still die in battle).  In each game, he has the new ability you do, and uses it in battle.  He leaves for self-repairs and warns for his return.

GAMES 1-4: Fight zero until he has one bar of health leaves "until next time"
Game 5: Fight zero like always, but this time he befriends you
Game 6: the story of how Protoman and Bass don't exist in the X series

My plans are for a six game series.
Megaman Supreme: Megaman gets the x buster, before entering the Zero boss levels.
The Robot Masters are (in weakness order):
Gold Man (like Flashman, gives you a weapon like Centaur Flash 'Gold Flash')
Vacuum Man (Like a reverse Air Man, gives you a close range sucking weapon 'Vacuum Buster')
Swamp Man (huge boss, throws sludge, gives you 'Swamp Sludge')
Hydro Man (Giant water tank, shoots jets of water 'Water Jet')
*MM Killer* Buster Man (Has a chargable buster, gives you super buster, a forth level of your mega buster 'Supreme Buster', after you defeat him, you go to Lights lab so he can study the weapon)
Dash Man (like quick man, similar to his weapon too "Dash Cannon'
Reflect Man (Giant mirror for abdomen, give you 'Mirror Sheild')
Slice Man (like metal man, but with shrapnel 'Slicer Gun')

after all robot masters are defeated, go to Lights lab and get the X-Buster, Zero battle uses his Z-Saber,

Megaman Supreme 2: Megaman gets the foot upgrade to jump of walls at the start)
Robot Master:
Shield Man (looks very spherical, gives you a armor amardillo like sheild (Supreme Shield)
Thunder Man (regular body with speaker for head, gives you 'Sonic Boom')
Glass Man (like a cylander of glass for abdomen, give you 'Glass Shatter' chargable weapon, full charge is a SUper Shatter, like Centaur Flash)
Fowl Man (Bird like boss acts like Shade Man, gives you 'Prey Strike' like Plutos weapon in MMV GB)
Soil Man (Beatle like boss with hard hat, gives you 'Claw Cannon')
Inflate Man (Cube abdomen, limbs inflate like balloon, gives you 'Helium Flash' which s like Tornado Mans weapon)
Scuba Man (looks like scuba diver, gives you 'Harpoon Gun')
*MM Killer* Plasma Man (looks like gravity man, gives you 'Plasma Blaster', efficiancy of Metal Blade)

zero battle, he has his saber AND foot upgrade

Megaman Supreme 3: Megaman gets Dash upgrade (finally)
Robot Masters:
Laser Man (regular body, line sunglasses on eyes, gives you 'Laser Beam')
Aim Man (regular body, radar symbol as a mask, gives you 'Homing Bomb')
Speed Man (Like Quick man, with headband, gives you 'Machine Gun', weapon goes down every second used)
Slime Man (regular upper body, legs are a slime trail like a snail, gives you (Slime Splatter)
*MM Killer* Alpha Man (Huge boss with horns, gives you "Alpha Flash")
Algae Man ( a green, hairy scuba diver, gives you 'Algae Ball' works well under water)
Night Man (body is a cloak, head with sunglasses, gives you 'Black Hole', like Gravity beatles weapon)
Sun Man (body with wing-arms, sun for head, gives you 'Solar Sheild')

zero battle: saber, foot, and dash

Megaman Supreme 4: megaman gets airdash upgrade
Robot Masters:
Clay Man (ball body, gives you 'Clay Shooter')
Arakna Man (body with 8 limbs, gives you 'Web Spooler', a 5-way weapon that makes a web on the wall/ceiling
*MM Killer* Leap Man (tall body, jumps high, gives you 'Supreme Jump', a tall jump, uses energy every 2 jumps)
Lava Man (body is a cauldron of lava, gives you 'Lava Splash')
Key Man (regular body, keys for arms gives you "Key Cannon', a very efficient weapon like Metal Blade)
Lock Man (Body is a lock, gives you 'Lock Flash', which freezes enemies)
Sneak Man (regular body, walks on toes, gives you "Speed Sneak", which is a machine gun/speed walking weapon)
Smash Man (Giant barrel like body with meat cleavers for hands, gives you ' Smash Blaster'

Zero battle: saber, foot, dash, and airdash

Megaman Supreme 5: megaman gets double dash
Robot Master: not determined
Zero battle: saber, foot, dash, airdash, and double dash
After almost defeating zero, he becomes your friend because you both can't defeat each other, To Be Continued

Megaman Supreme 6: Megaman gets double jump and the "X-factor"
before game, light gives megaman his upgrades.  The x factor is the all around warrior like control that makes X infinitely powerful. Megaman is X only in this game.
Robot Masters: not determined
This will be a one/two player game, one is as X, two is playing both with both on screen fighting.
The enemies are Protoman and Bass, who are jealous of X and Zeros upgrades.  They capture Dr. Light after X gets his upgrades.

One player game:  fight Bass, then protoman as final bosses.  Now your thinking "Why would Megaman kill his brother?"  It's because he is too powerful, the X factor takes over his mind.  He kills Protoman, and realizes what he's done.  This is when Light decides that the world is not ready for X's power, and puts him to sleep to improve the X-factor. (then the X-series takes over

Two player game: The final boss is Zero and X fighting Bass and Protoman at the same time, but Zero can only kill Bass, so when he does that, he teleports off screen.  the ending is now the same as the one player game.

This is my idea for a Homebrew series, that connects the Classic series (1-10+Unlimited) to the X series.  I am open for Robot Master ideas for the 5th and 6th games.  To be honest,  just want someone to make this game, and I dont want any fame,  just want to play it.  Please comment your thoughts and advice, or if your interested in making the game! :D

beautiful.

i cri evritim

In some level of seriousness, it is clear that you have no concept of the effort it requires to make a single game if you seriously think anyone would be willing to help you with this foolishness for a series of 6 games.

Okay really, serious note.
With game development, it's best to start small.  Make a small prototype first, and don't bite off more than you can chew.  This applies to series, too.
Honestly the FIRST thing i can recommend you do before even making a game is find a Programming language that you can USE.  C++, Assmebly, Python, etc. etc.  Hell, you could use Game Maker, and the language for that is watered down C++.  That and sense you seem to like Unlimited, MMU was made in GM, too.
In td;lr, start small, then work your way up.

Let me add something, there has been no Megaman Game or movie for five long years and now there is going to be a cartoon in 2017. I am not criticizing but definitely expecting more (http://platinumplatypus.com).
