General Gaming Discussion / Re: Games You Like That Everybody Else Hates
« on: August 25, 2011, 03:12:48 AM »
Shadow the Hedgehog, Mega Man X7, Final Fantasy X... all I can think of right now...

...I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you don't end up hitting a wall and being unable to work on MegaMan.EXE at all...

An SNES fishing game scared me, once. I was starting it up like usual, and it played its "you suck" music - which is sudden and kinda creepy if you aren't expecting it - with the message that the save data has been corrupted. It startled me. What's worse is that it later gave me a nightmare where I started it up and it did the same thing, but the text told me I died/was dead.

DECORATE and ACS Modifications / Re: MegaMan.EXE ~ I won't give up yet!!

I would LOVE a MegaMan.exe class! I like everything about your idea... except for one thing. Why the Star Force shield? There are shielding options in the MegaMan Battle Network games already. There's the BattleChip you get from Mettaurs/Mettools -  "Guard". There's also the NaviCust programs Shield and Reflect.

In development: Shell Man
Pros: Heavy armor, powerful shotgun
Cons: slow

Skins & Bots etc / Re: Skins of Mine (RAN COSSACK)

I'd love a Ran class. Primary fire would be a one-hit KO Cossack buster with triple the knockback of using Hard Knuckle, and secondary would be launching yourself as a "Ran-bomb".

Awesome! But uh.. for the Ran skin... it IS just a skin, right? It doesn't set your Health to 1, does it?  :p

=Fade/Phase Man=
Purpose: scouting
Stage: Um... you would hate it if it existed, as it is "vanishing/appearing block central"
Primary Weapon: Fade Cloak/Phase Cloak: turns transparent, preventing attacks from hitting him
Secondary Weapons: Full-Power Fade Cloak/Full-Power Phase Cloak: turns either invisible or mostly invisible; Buster; melee "dagger slash" while using Fade Cloak/Phase Cloak
Weakness: ???
Mega Man Copies: Fade Cloak/Phase Cloak uses no Weapon Energy to activate, but QUICKLY drains the WE while in use. Attempting to use it while already in use fires a different-colored buster shot. Change weapons to turn off the Fade/Phase Cloak.

=Noise Man=
Purpose: disabling electronics
Stage: ???
Primary Weapon: Crash Noise?: a disabling static-y shot with a weird wave motion to the "particles". It does damage and stuns the target without invulnerability frames.
Secondary weapons: Static Pulse: Noise Man stops moving for a second, and then a stunning field of energy surrounds him; "Flash Man-esque" rapid Buster
Weakness: Buster Shots from Fade/Phase Cloak
Mega Man Copies: Crash Noise? can not hurt "armored" enemies (Metool hiding in helmet, those springy guys that look like the Scrubbing Bubbles mascot, etc.); enemies that gain invincibility frames from damage WILL get them when hit with this weapon.

=Code Man=
Purpose: hacking, data/message encrypting, and code-breaking
Stage: Lots of lasers (not Quick Man lasers, unless I'm the only one that hates them) and puzzles
Primary Weapon: Breaker Code: a weapon that does low initial damage but drains Life Energy over time
Secondary Weapons: controls two "continuous laser turrets" on the ceiling that he moves around to act as moving walls
Weakness: Crash Noise?
Mega Man copies: Not sure how it would work as a weapon, but it could also activate/deactivate some computers, leading to alternate/secret paths.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: What if Robot Masters had their own game?

Zyborg, ever heard of Megaman: Day in the Limelight?

You play as the original six masters going through Mega Man 2.

Never heard of it. It sounds awesome, though.

I'm having a hard time deciding which class is my favorite. I like Gemini Man but his clone isn't strong enough, and I like the robots with the charging powers (Charge Man, Punk, etc.)...

Does it have to be one Robot Master? Because, I was thinking that the 6 "originals" should have their own spinoff. Probably a platformer similar to the regular Mega Man games, but more puzzle-oriented. Not sure if it would be "choose a character", only play as certain ones on certain stages (Don't like this idea, but...) or switch on-the-fly, as easy as Mega Man changes weapons but with separate life bars and more differences between the RMs than weapons.

EDIT: Ever heard of the Flash game "Fire Man: Incoming Storm"? That seems to be along the lines of this thought-exercise we are doing...

This is awesome. I love using Gemini Man's hologram and having infinite Sakugarne as Quint. However, I'm having an issue with Enker. Every time he is hit, it says something about his powering up not being found. I don't remember the exact wording, but once I get the message again, I'll let you know.

...sorry.

Umm... now that I downloaded it, how do I use it? If I put it in the "Skins" folder, it comes up with an error "Script error, "Classes-v5c.pk3:wep/megaman3/snakemanwep.txt" line 57:
Replaced type 'SearchSnakeStart' not found in SearchSnakeStart2"...

Was that wrong?
