Mega Man Discussion / Re: Mega Man 7 help
« on: December 20, 2014, 03:47:06 PM »
Seems like using a password is the only way to get out of this problem. But it doesn't explain why/how it happened in the first place. In all the many times I played it before, I would always start at the first stage of the Wily castle. Now, it keeps starting me at the 4th/last one.

Again, I'm using the Anniversary Collection for PS2. I've beaten Mega Man 7 numerous times before, having to go through the 4 wily stages each time. Now, when I just tried playing the Wily stages, it's starting me at the last wily stage. Is this normal? If so, how do I play from the start of the castle?

Something in the game itself may be causing an issue for certain comps.

Just finished this game (initial release version). Maybe it's just me being more tolerant; but I didn't find it nearly as bad as I expected. Really, the only major complaint would be cheap shots that easily result in death. The spike pit obstacles weren't what I expected (ie, they went better than I thought they would) and only some tough boss battles are the other complaint.

Thanks! Yup, that cleared it up perfectly. Time to play the Wily stages!

Do the Wily stages' bonus items (mini E and W tanks) count toward the 100% completion to unlock the extras? Because since they also have alternate paths, it's not possible to collect them all in one play-through; so are they optional or will multiple play-throughs be needed?

Yeah, really, whaddya know? The guy doing the run knows the author. Ah well, bottom line is it'll serve its purpose. And I'd have to agree with you: while I haven't played the game, common complaints with this fan game are that it's difficult due to frustration rather than challenge. IOW, the wrong reasons.

Hey Shinryu, are you planning to make a complete playthrough recording so I can can turn to it if I get stuck finding hidden items, secrets, etc? :P (seriously, though, it's a compliment; I often look at your videos when trying to find hidden items I missed and can't find)

EDIT: Looks like that won't be necessary. Someone got on it seemingly ASAP and it's on youtube, heh. Well, if I ever get stuck in my completionist-compulsive run, I got some assistance.

I could just start a new game of MM8, or perhaps enjoy this strange occurrence and use those bolts. It's not a hard game to beat and is pretty enjoyable.

Oh, Ok.

For 3, I thought that menu option only applied to Mega Man 1-6.
4, I'm pretty sure there aren't 99 bolts in the game, not even close to that amount. Unlike Mega Man 7, this one has a limited amount of bolts hidden in the stages and you have to choose a certain number of parts to buy as you can't buy them all.

I'm playing through the PS2 Mega man Anniversary Collection by the way.

After not having played MM8 in several years, I went back to it recently and noticed some things that I'm sure aren't supposed to happen:

-All weapon energy and Rush items refill after dying.
-They also refill when going to the next segment of a stage (for example, Tengu Man and Wily Stage 2, where the stages are separated by the Rush Jet sequences). Health also refills between segments.
-I start each continue with 5 lives, even though I didn't get the Spare Extra lab part.
-I have 99 bolts.

The latter 2 definitely can't be normal. Does the player unlock the 5 lives start some other way? Do you get 99 bolts from beating the game? This sort of looks like a debug feature was activated somehow.

Hey guys! Check out the fan game Protoman's Return at the Rockman Perfect Memories forum. It's a game where Portoman returns and you can play as him. And you can play the game.

Yeah, I've seen that thread; that's one of the resources I used to collect all the Mega Man classic fan games. I beat so many without making a list of them to keep track, so it's going to be hard.

Just throw any classic Mega man fangame at me, I'm 95% guaranteed to have already beaten it.

I've completed pretty much all of them out there and am looking for more to play. Name any and I'm guaranteed to have beaten it. Don't include demos.

The Ghoul's Forest / Re: GvH Single player campaigns...

Sorry to bump this pretty-old thread, but...

I've been looking forward to playing the single player campaign portion since June (I got free time now). Of course, I remembered:

Could someone please supply a link to the latest version which HAS the single player campaign in it?

Or at least, the one from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epGcmgZe ... re=related
