IF they achieve to make it work with the current engine. Having hundreds of players + combat pets + NPCs + all the VFX and destruction in the same battle with decent performance would be extremely surprising imo.

Maybe the optimization will help a lot, but I'd say if we can get ~150 players in a single battle it would already be an incredible achievement.

Big PvP battles are coming... soon... soonish. Can't wait to see how many players my laptop can render before it catches on fire.
