#ReworkMM2FLA
Never have I seen a map go through so many fan edits or reworks despite the official map staying almost entirely unchanged. There is a better way to make slippery maps. There is a world where people can slide without bumping into other players or into pillars. That world is possible which is why I am asking YOU, the cutstuff community , to write in MM2FLA for this competition. Thank you.

Finally I can replacewep_commandobombwep needlecannonwep to appease my sweaty tryhard friends! Thanks Russel!

Bugs/Suggestions / Re: Teamspawn feedback
« on: October 28, 2022, 06:33:21 PM »
I think the only two rules that should matter for teamspawns are "keep teams as separated as possible" and "keep teams out of each other's sightlines upon spawning". When placing team spawns in my maps, I ask myself "what's the best position on the map? How far will both teams be from that position? What's.a fair position for both teams so they have the same chance of reaching that position first?" It's easy to slap both teams on opposite sides of the map, but if one team is closer to a higher/better position than another team, that can quickly create an imbalance. Sometimes that imbalance is fun, but I usually find it annoying like on MM6KNI where I have to find a way to reach the top of the map or the top of the green wall

For anybody interested in MM8BDM CTF, I've got just the event for you. Introducing...

CAPCHELLA 2022 is going to be a 1-day event dedicated to highlighting several MM8BDM CTF maps from FunkyFlagFunction, MirrorCTF, and Recreation. I might also throw in a couple of surprise maps too for good measure but the main point of this event is to reinvigorate interest in MM8BDM CTF again. The maps will be played in a first-to-3 points format with a 15-minute time limit to ensure all maps get a good amount of exposure. If you're looking for an excuse to play vanilla or an excuse to try out a different mode in MM8BDM, this is the best opportunity around! I hope to see everybody there!

Also, please unban my homie Gibus from Cutstuff. He was just making an Eric Andre joke last time (#FreeGibus)

Maps / MM8BDM Mirror CTF Map Pack (V1C released)
« on: August 03, 2022, 02:57:28 AM »
One day, Greg.EXE had a concept for a CTF map that consisted of mirroring Knight Man. I took that concept and ran it straight into the ground. Introducing....

The MM8BDM Mirror CTF Map Pack!

TSPG link: https://allfearthesentinel.net/zandronum/download.php?file=mm8bdm-mirrorctf-v1c.pk3

This is a map pack that takes at least one level from each major mega man game (1-10, V) and mirrors it to work for CTF. It also introduces recolored textures and props to help players distinguish between light side and wily side. Some care was taken to keep the weapon layout somewhat balanced but honestly I haven't played vanilla in long enough to know what's considered balanced so I just trusted the vanilla devs on this one and let most of the current weapons stay on the map. If people like the layouts or ideas though, I can definitely update the maps with more thoughtful weapon/item layouts.

Please enjoy the maps and feel free to use them for whatever mode you feel like! (DM, TLMS, Survival, etc.) If you want to use maps from this map pack, please remember to give credit to me and the original authors included in the credits file.

Events / Re: Teamplay, Textures, Tango - A MM8BDM team mapping competition!
« on: November 02, 2021, 09:01:20 AM »
After over two months of mapping and almost two weeks of judging, the final scores for Teamplay Textures Tango are finally in! Again, I want to say that I’m really happy with the maps that were submitted and enjoyed playing on them. The creativity, the themes, the distinct styles and layouts, all of it was very nice to go through. With all that said, it’s time to announce the winners…
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ynkuy344km0ik4/TTT_Scoresheet_FINAL.xlsx?dl=0
With 275/300 points given by the judges, the map that best represents teamplay, texturing, and tango is…
TTT05 - Spectral Echo by LlamaHombre and Thunderono ! Congratulations to both mappers, I think this was a great map as always.
With 257/300 points , the silver medal of TTT goes to…
TTT04 - Dagenet Dungeon by Razgriz-S  and Zeke! You two made a very fun and interesting map, so this prize is well deserved.
There are two maps that got 247/300 points, but only one map can get third prize. With a higher layout score (118 to 113), the bronze medal goes too…
TTT01 - Cleaning Robot Bathwater by FTX6004 and OrangeMario! I’m incredibly happy to see these two mappers getting recognition for their hard work, this was definitely a map deserving of a prize.
Once again, I’d like to all TTT Mappers for submitting their maps. I’d also like to thank the TTT Judges for taking the time play through these and provide excellent feedback. I’m planning to release V1B of this map pack where all mappers will be given an extra month to polish their maps based on the feedback. I’m proud of every mapper who had the  courage, determination, and perseverance to build the best maps they could. With V6B of MM8BDM expected to provide more modding tools, I hope that this enthusiasm for mapping continues into 2022. Until next time, this Mendez signing off for now.
