Help & Editing / Re: alt-tab bug?

Ok, we are filtering this fine topic (that had 3 comments) with arguements. If you ever see a comment that I make that you hate of some sort, PM instead.
Straight Answer? Since when was that not a straight answer?
Add some figurative language, actually tell someone useful, and you've made a comment that gives more than just "Try checking your keyboard settings. IT WILL WORK, GUARANTEED." I wouldn't say it wasn't straight. (...)

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM Funnies
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:55:45 PM »
I went to Yamato Man's stage looking for a... yamajklsohg, and I thought I set it to Cooperative. So I come to the game, Enker all of a sudden shoots me, commits suicide and I was WTF?! I come to another room and see that Ballade and Punk are fighting it out, so I thought maybe I could use god mode cheat and interfere with the fight. So i did, typed in cvarlist on the console. So many commands, that when I typed in SV_CHEATS : :TRUE and then GOD I didn't notice it said SV_CHEATS MUST BE TRUE TO BLAHBLAH so I wasn't in god mode and I came in and they killed me.

Warning: Below are some weapon cheats.

I had this before, like Backspace goes back to the previous page?
Check your mouse, pour some beer on it, and let it rip.
Make sure any ghosts didn't change your keyboard settings in-game.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: What do you consider an exploit?
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:27:57 PM »
I consider YOUR FACE ITEM 1 TO BE AN EXPLOIT!!!
Well not really but it is just so small. I can jump on it but it is really annoying to new players and crowded servers. No one wants to fall down while trying to get gravity hold into a bunch of Metalmans.

Strafe Running is NO exploit. I love to use it for Ring Boomerang and Water Wave. My strategy to win with the weapons.
I don't think anything is an exploit unless it is Gutsman's ass.

Help & Editing / Re: I Can't upload my avatar.Help?
« on: December 19, 2010, 06:03:49 PM »
I was confused too, i was like, "Wait, so I type in http://www.photobucket.com and it knows what picture i'm using?"
No. just right click on your picture, click "Copy Image URL", and paste it on.
I have a PC with Windows Vista(virus) and i'm not sure if there is a "Copy Image URL" on Macs or Linuxes.

EDIT: If you have already done this, then you have to decrease the size and screw around between your paint program and the avatar upload page.

Help & Editing / WANT SUM HALP NEW MM8BDM PLAYAHS? -Useless topic for you-
« on: December 19, 2010, 04:41:01 PM »
Ironically, i've made a topic to help people, not for people to help me.
If you would like to ask for a specific stage tips and strategies, I will try to do so. Cutman's stage does not count, it is awfully simple and work of art(Napalms).
You can help me by putting some extra tips I didn't put and is/are useful. (Credit will be next to your tip/strategy)
I really don't know if new players are even LOOKING for help, but somewhere in the world, a person will find this helpful.
If this is the wrong place to post this topic, inform me and depending on the comments I will post it in the correct one(good cmnts).

---
After posting recently in the topic, "Camping" I thought, "Oh Napalm Man you are such the weapons expert. Will you rub your bombs all over my body Will you help me with winning?"

After some thoughts on how dirty I am and how people will probably respond to this, I decide I will do so.
No, I will not give you weapon tips because everyone knows the weapons on their first day of MM8BDM.
Instead, I will give you strategies and tips for THREE maps most likely to be difficult!
First, some tips on counter-camping and why you should use camping daily.

COUNTER-CAMPING
Why should you hate camping when they basically hand you a free kill? Here are some tips on how to counter-camp and why you should use it.

If someone that camps kills you, they REMAIN IN THE SAME LOCATION. Most players don't notice this. Attack with the most powerful weapon in the level. If there is Atomic Fire, use it.
Tango supports counter-camping. Use him if entering the room is suicidal.
Beat and Rush Jet support counter-camping. Fly to your enemies that are normally not available to players who don't fly.
Energy Tank sponsors counter-camping. Use it if a player is ambushing you.
---
CAMPING
And why should you do this disrespectful act called "camping"? Here are reasons why camping is vital to some victories.

Camping is used for alot of things, like such:
Capture The Flag
Possession
Team Possession
Roboenza
It is really important to know that camping CANNOT be abused(Because of the counter-camping thing I just did).
It is ALSO really important to know that you should abandon your camping spot if you have remained on it for too long, killed a couple of players(due to the opponent's subterranean tactical knowledge. They know your there and they will come back for you prepared), or no one is appearing.

MM5-GRAVITY MAN
---
KEY LOCATIONS:
Bubble Lead. Use the platform to take advantage of the terrain and attack oncoming opponents in the long hallway.
Wind Storm. Use the platform to take advantage of the terrain and attack oncoming opponents in the long hallway.
Water Wave. Use the higher elevation to shoot below. Key spot for Team Possession, a teammate must have Hyper Bomb to successfully camp and protect the circuit holder.

KEY ITEMS
Beat. Fall off the level to fly temporarily and access locations not available to players on high gravity. Fall off the pit between another Beat and the Yamato Spear. Quickly fly to Gravity Hold and easily take control of the game. Fall off of the pit between another Beat and the Yamato Spear. Quickly fly to Water Wave and take control of the area while on high gravity or ambush any campers.
Yamato Spear. A great weapon for Beat-piloting.
Hyper Bomb. Use it to ambush or strike players head-on. Use it to escape by spamming it while moving.
Gravity Hold. Most effective on high gravity. Use it to send opponents flying into the pit. Use it to opponents holding Hyper Bomb coming toward your camping spot.
Weapon Tank. Use it to refill on Gravity Hold.

MM1-ELEC MAN
---
KEY LOCATIONS:
Thunder Beam. A common place to spawn, the most dangerous part of the level. Crowded. Home of important weapons: Thunder Beam and Gemini Laser. Don't go there unprepared.
Magnet Missile. Highest point of the level. Suspected to be the target location of most players.
Dust Crusher. A great location to steal kills.

KEY ITEMS:
Thunder Beam. Spam at the lowest point of the level for suicidal but multiple kills.
Gemini Laser. Use it at the end of the walk of hazardous thunder beams. Take advantage of it on the lowest floor and shoot it at opponents who don't notice you.
Dust Crusher. Use it at it's spawn and use it's mini-bullets to your advantage.
Metal Blade. Since it is the only rapid fire weapon in the level, it's value has drastically increased. Use it to ambush distracted players. Use it to shoot players distracted from shooting players on lower levels.
Magnet Missile. Use it to shoot distracted players on lower levels. Use it to shoot players on lower levels.
Energy Tank. Use it with the Thunder Beam spam strategy to survive longer and escape. Use it to ambushing players and counter.
Search Snake. Use it towards the middle to get kills. Korby

---
MM6-KNIGHT MAN
---
KEY LOCATIONS:
Crystal Eye. Most effective camping spot in the game. Beware of players when climbing up.
Large Weapon Capsule/Interior Teleporter Destination. Another camping spot, however able to be stopped by players aware of your location.
Castle Tango. A long and narrow hallway. Good for weapons such as Atomic Fire, Crystal Eye and Knight Crush.

KEY ITEMS:
Crystal Eye. Use it on long hallways or distracted players.
Atomic Fire. A great camping and counter-camping weapon. Let players chase you into a long and narrow hallway or ladder for an Atomic Fire setup. Pace your shot but not too slow.
Knight Crush. Use it on long hallways or distracted players. On Crystal Eye spawn, two players may hide behind the green columns and attack players who approach the Crystal Eye. You must be in a team game for this to work.
Quick Boomerang. Use it as a back up when you miss a charged Atomic Fire shot.
Tango. If a player holding Atomic Fire is in the room, quickly counter with Tango. If the player is hiding behind a green column, attack with Tango. If a large amount of players are in the area, attack with Tango.
Energy Tank. Keep it in mind, the stage is filled with ambushes. Use it to counter from Tango or sudden attacks from Knight Crush, Thunder Beam, Crystal Eye or Quick Boomerang.

Haha, the announcer is just weird in MM8BDM. Does not fit in the area of 8-bit, just dialogue that wants to trash talk you and make you roid rage. Turns out, it created online. Where you talk trash to everyone who kills you or dies by your hands.
However, I would like to say that I have made custom medals of my own! Though I hate the announcer the world of medals sets me to new heights for competitive gameplay.

CORRUPTION: Die 20 times without getting a single frag

MONDAY MORNING: Stay inactive for 2 minutes

BROKEN GLASS: Fail to hit with a 100 bullets

Ironically, I've made anti-competitive medals. But who cares? It would probably give a fair competition to unexperienced players since all them medal-whores want those bad medals.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Camping
« on: December 19, 2010, 01:29:04 AM »
Though I would like to say camping is a load of bullshit, I can't do that.
CAMPING is actually tactical if you know your opponent is going to approach.
Like that Dr. Wily Skull Castle Interior in MM8BDM Demo where the Napalm Bombs are.
You know someone is going to go for the Napalm Bombs because it is VERY efficient *blush* in the map due to the design.
You shoot 'em with the Napalm 3 or 4 times and they DIE.
That, is what you call a CAMPING SPOT.
Amazing, am I rite?!

Wow, they use it so long you feel like you wanna enable "TEABAG.EXE" but too bad there isn't. Which is one weakness of camping, and that is the opponent's SUBTERRANEAN STRATEGICAL KNOWLEDGE, or what I like to call, SSK.
Haha, sure they are in the point of invincibility in the map but who cares?
You know where they are.  Get out the search snake and shoot em up and down, or whip out a gemini laser and shoot the ceiling to preform a BOUNCE-OUT STRAIGHT OUT GEMINI LASER TO THE FACE,
or what I like to call a HBO SPECIAL.

In the regular MM8BDM's case, it's just a spark shock and a couple of new weapons. Haha, that gives the camping spot away because one of the items is RUSH COIL.  However, it may be dangerous because there may be other players watching you. So, in that case, preform another HBO SPECIAL or just get the Proto Buster and chrage, charge until the boat sets sail and runs off. Or just let it have a head start.
So, all those tips about camping? What does this have to do with the subject? Well, it happens to be my reason on why camping is neutral (or why people should not complain about it)and should be treated like any other strategy.

It may be long but I am not smarter then a fifth grader it is my opinion on why camping is what I think it is.
