Update:

This project is still active. Both music and Mega Man 3 textures are very close to being done. I will put up new assets when both are done. The original goal of getting Mega Man 1 - 6 done by the end of the year probably isn't going to happen. The first release will contain all assets pertaining to the first campaign. This will also include certain skins.

Right. Some of the songs were exported in a format that the engine breaks on. If there are any that don't play, let me know and I'll upload the fixed versions.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that bolded music items on the list are prioritized. The aim is to get Mega Man 1 - 6 done before the end of this year. There will be more about this once Mega Man 4 / music is done.

v5b stuff will be handled later if they affect past submissions, if they don't, then they will be included in that set.

Mega Man 2 textures are done. The textures file has been uploaded and the submissions have been locked. Mega Man 3 will be available either Sunday night or Monday afternoon.

In the meantime: there is a poll about how weapons should be handled. Changing function would require the weapon pack be ran on the server side. The other factor is if the submissions should continue to be a free for all, require reservations. Free for all would make things more chaotic but inconsistent. Reservations would add coherency.

Also, I added / clarified some rules regarding music submissions. Please also note that having your submission removed by me does not mean you have priority in adding a new version.

Those textures are indeed used. The files are patch names, not texture names. They are either renamed in the file or combined with other patches. I also do unused patches for completion's sake and also if any custom maps end up using the textures.

Everything is logged and I pretty much have the folder open at all times. The first entry always gets in unless it violates a rule or the person changes it themselves. I can't manipulate the permissions on a finer level to disable deletion from non-owners.

Mega Man 1 textures are done. I uploaded the texture definitions if anyone wants to try them out early. Mega Man 2 is close to being done as well. Mega Man 3 will go up once Mega Man 2 is done. Then whatever gets done next will probably be succeeded by certain map props.

Update:

Only 7 textures are left for Mega Man 1. They are Time Man's conveyor belts. Mega Man 2 is also over halfway done.

You can now submit music. Please see the first post for more details. I do want to get at least Mega Man 1 and Bubble Man / Wood Man textures done by next week sometime so we can move on to other things.

MM4PHA uses portals to render the map. It's why sometimes it randomly turns into a bunch of HOMs if it doesn't get rendered properly.

This sounds pretty cool, but just to make sure: What are the limitations of the "No copyrighted material" rule? Like, does that just mean we can't take someone's original work off of Deviantart, or does it extend to any material that isn't made from scratch (such as a piece of a Garfield comic strip or a sprite from a Mario game)?

That rule is mainly for music. I'd say avoid stealing deviant art stuff or anything that requires credit. Entire comic strips would be bad but everything else is ok.

Progress has been slow but we only have 60 textures left. It may seem like a lot, but its actually really close to being done. I added a list of the textures left on the first post. I'm going to start making textures myself again if no one else starts submitting. I really want to continue this project and jump right in to Mega Man 2.

I know that you said no reserving slots, but I just want to let everyone know that if they don't like SiIvaGunner, they better be preparing music, because I'm planning on replacing as many songs as I can with their respective rips where applicable.

Siivagunner music will be banned as being too low effort.

Cut, Ice, Guts, Fire, Bomb, and Elec Man are done. There are about 25 textures each in Time, Oil, and Wily. I'm hoping that they will be done by this weekend so we can roll straight into Mega Man 2 (which only has 267 textures compared to Mega Man 1's 314).
