Dumb idea because it involves mapping, requires a decent amount of people in the server, and also involves waiting:

Either based on survival co-op or LMS with lives. The idea is a few people from the server (around 4 - 8) actually fight in a map. The rest of the players vote on events (buff a random player, random projectiles come etc). It would probably work with co-op better as an incentive to let players finish the map and move on to the next.

PSA: The new minigames-v1a.pk3 is not official. I'm not going to be asking for it to be taken down / avoided, though, as I've already allowed it. (Though, it would be nice if they posted it here, or made a pull request on Github if they could figure out how.) I would however like to point out that it's still broken in some ways. CVars are defined in the old way, pretty much all of WILDCARD.acs is broken because it relied on the maps having tag 0 be a legitimate tag, and the player classes don't have the new maxskinsize property.

I'll probably fix this up sometime soon. Porting to Zandronum 2.0 hasn't (usually) been as painful as I originally thought, and I have some more ideas for minigames.

I agree that this community is like a group of friends, but not in a good way. There (at least in my day) were basically two core groups: the "cool" kids and the people the cool kids hated. If you didn't fit in with either: you were screwed.

I feel like I can't get back into the community because of my past. I was a dumb teen (as a few of us were at the time), and didn't exactly make the most "quality" stuff. I really do want to go back into modding because I had some ideas and wanted to "go back to my roots" as a programmer (and frankly the game could use a few new things). But I feel my reputation as "that idiot who made LMSGames / MMU Classes / hosted bad maps" would instantly get anything I even tried to push out ignored. And because I feel that way, I can't effectively begin to disprove that. It's a vicious cycle.

I'll be working on compatibility for 4c /2.0 eventually. Let me know if there are any outstanding bugs. I'll also probably be replacing LMS24 / Ring Robbery with another game. Feel free to post suggestions. I'll also most likely overhaul Death Run as well.
