*insert overdone argument here about translating a 2D shooter to a 3D FPS environment*
preach it bruh. that idea needs to be jammed into every vanilla mapper's head 60 times over

Edit: Going to keep this short: Remove mines on mmbpir. They add no depth to gameplay and only serve as a means to punish players for being creative. You can BARELY see them from the surface (this is another issue on ALL maps with water, you NEED to be able to see through them clearly) which can easily force the player's attention away from the actual game if they want to try and jump into the water. While they do make the map "unique", I think we should all remember that the last two MM5CRY iterations were "unique" because of their anti-fun depth mechanic.

But let's not forget that Time Stopper is rare to find and hard to reach, and that is because its role is primarily allowing you to nullify threats around you for a while so you can get to safety.

Hi I'm just going to stop you right here for a moment.
Don't balance weapons in a deathmatch setting around how rare they are.
Thanks.
Uh, you're kinda wrong.

Do you understand risk vs reward? That's kind of how deathmatch is supposed to work. You take time away from mindlessly running into people with Fire Storm to acquire an overall stronger weapon to help you win. The downside to acquiring this overall stronger weapon is that you took the time to acquire it, and to max out the effectiveness of said weapon, you must survive and use it effectively. Despite my whining and crying about how poor of a gamemode deathmatch is, there are strategical elements involved.

This is how it has always worked, and it's evident in every arena shooter. Not only is your logic flawed, it's flat out incorrect. The formula for 90% of arena shooters is: start with a junk pea-shooter, grab a couple baseline weps to get you going, then shoot for top tier weapons once you've garnered map control. Alternatively, rush power weapons right out of the gate, but this puts you at risk for falling behind if you can't defend yourself while looking for that Rush Coil to get GHold. If your logic was applied (or even true) to the game, there would be no point in picking up other weapons because your Mega Buster would be at the same power level as every other weapon.

To be honest, I'm not even sure you play this game.

The map is already playable, and quite good (minus lighting gimmick). If you consider it "yawn inducing" then you should probably consider playing simpler games such as Candy Crush or Angry Birds.

That aside, I suggest this discussion be brought to the appropriate map discussion topic.

Dude seriously...

163
MM2HEA is ugly as a whole. From the awkward holes in terrain to silly looking "fences", the whole map needs aesthetic simplification.

164
If the darkness gimmick stays, it needs to be aesthetically. Put in enough of that red glowy shit around the map so you have a clear definition of the map while it's dark.

Basically don't do what Bik says. Getting rid of the original stage's interesting feature will make the map boring. Don't make the game boring. If you want competitive play then just host a server that does not have the maps that aren't that suited to competitive play.
Excuse me? Removing a feature (on an otherwise good map) that does not fit in an arena shooter will make the map BORING? Please tell me you did not just say that.

The "feature" adds no depth of gameplay. It doesn't prompt extra strategy or cause more people to enjoy the map itself. The ONLY thing this light gimmick accomplishes is making 95% of the people in the server angry because the map showed up. It does not make the map more fun, therefore the removal of the gimmick will not make the map boring.

I honestly don't care if the removal of the gimmick breaks canon, because this is (and should be) first and foremost an FPS, and efforts should be made to make the game as enjoyable as possible AS AN FPS, not just a Megaman fangame.
