That is how shading works, although now it looks like a direct ripoff of your other skins [even though they're not yours apparently].
You should also probably give us a preview of how it looks in-game so we can know how it looks in the game itself instead of on a white background.
Tinypic's probably the best for that sort of stuff, it's what I've used for all of my screenshots that I've dared to upload.
Meanwhile, the core four (Me, Blaze, OrangeMario, and Swiss) haven't done anything at all in a while. Probably OM's having work and our school stuff that's making us do nothing at all.
I still like the default char.png [steve skin texture] in my texture pack (this is in the snapshot version only, though). I found it in one of the three texture packs that I merged together (can't remember which one, though). I like the extra detail on the pants, especially the belt. I'm not too fond of the shoes, though. I might change them to something else or even back to the original shoes.

If you're wondering why the eyes are green and his pants/shirt have a green hue, it's because green is best color and it's a reference to the character my skin was based on.
