Cutstuff Discussion and Feedback / Re: Cutstuff Minecraft Server! 1.3.1!
« on: August 30, 2012, 07:44:33 PM »
The server's apparently dead; I can't connect to it at all.
Some others have also apparently reported that they can't connect to the server at all.

I was planning to record a thing on there, but then the server was down for us.

Mike, if you can't put up the server again for some technical problem, would you at least be kind enough to give me a link to the latest world?

I would like a name change to "A big teddy bear" and hopefully I won't get shot for having three spaces in my name

The WWW board / Pretend You're Xyzzy: Apples to Apples - The Musical
« on: August 24, 2012, 11:26:42 PM »
So here's a game that's like Apples to Apples. Only more risque. And full of

When people fill up a game and it begins, one person ['Carl'] is entitled to the role of 'Card Czar' and gets a randomly chosen situation/statement/question/something.
Let's say that the statement is "When Pharaoh remains unmoved, Moses called down a plague of ______."
The other players ['Kenkoru', 'tgot', 'SomeGuyInASuit'] have to choose a card that either fits the sentence or is so absurd that it has to be chosen.
tgot chooses "Pterodactyl Eggs."
SomeGuyInASuit chooses "The Economy."
Kenkoru chooses "BATMAN!!!"
Since Ken had the silliest card, Carl chooses his card ["When Pharaoh remains unmoved, Moses called down a plague of BATMAN!!!"] and he gets one point.

To win a round of Pretend You're Xyzzy, you have to get enough points to hit the point limit, as in other games.

A small note: the people in the in-game chat have offensive/stupid names and are often spamming the chatbox with stuff. Either way, don't use the in-game chatbox.

I'm only eating cereal now, and I find this influx of members amusing.

I have no real importance around here, I just play the game with the usual frobs around here.
I am known as TGOT, and sometimes A big teddy bear.

So, the third day of invasion begins. It'll be fun.
Now if only more people knew that the forums existed.

cereal is good

It just happened again, quickly after it just revived itself.

But now it's back.

Well SuperBass, how goes updating that date? [no seriously, I don't see the first post of this thread updated to July; you should edit it]

also you should totally just forego classes for this event
less bad horrid files for people to shove in their launchers/wads folders

Quote from: "Gumballtoid"
Vanilla is for more competitive players; it relies heavily on skill and concentration throughout the match.

Classes is a more casual game since the skill factor is diminished quite a bit; it's not too great for competitive players.

Believe me; there are game modes in which classes are functional and enjoyable with, and then there are some that just defeat the purpose. Screw Scramble is an example of the latter.
Vanilla isn't as skill-based as you think since it often comes back to 'whoever uses the best ______ wins', but there's still some degree of skill needed to use the weapons effectively.

I never did enjoy classes. It's a bit too much for my taste. The 'spam this function to win' on many of the classes diminishes the fun factor, since it's not really about how fun the classes are to use, it's how good the classes are at winning matches. Balancing can be quite difficult, but then again I have yet to play classes extensively. Never did care for that kind of modification. Although I will admit that the non-YD/KY classes are far more enjoyable. Perhaps you might consider using other class modifications that aren't KY/YD for a change.

Screw Scramble on its own is a slightly intolerable game mode. Pick up screws, run to wherever the face your robot spawned and drop off screws in exchange for some easily-lost upgrade. The monotony is balanced out by dying to the enemy or to a stage hazard, either losing your screws and the match or losing your screws forever.
Different classes might be suited for different game modes. Go try other classes out besides the overused mainsteam class mod(s).

Blah, but what's my meaningless opinion on a one-day event? Steamenza is OP enough as it is.

Edit: I just realized that this event overlaps with Bluebrawl's Deathmatch Mappack Party thing. You might lose a good bit of support from the community in favor of some good-old-fashioned DM on various map packs.

It's not much to offer, but it's without that performance-eating Aero mode, so that's a plus.

So, OJ wanted me to post the link to Tekkit so he could get it later

http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/

You have to download the launcher on the sidebar to the left [I use the .exe].
Once you do that, put it somewhere safe and run it.
The Technic Launcher will appear, and it will make you log in and choose a modpack.
You have several choices: TechnicPack, Tekkit, HackSlashMine, Yogbox, and Vanilla.
Choose Tekkit and log in with your minecraft.net username/password.

It should download Tekkit for you.
And then put the ip for the server in multiplayer, and you're done!
[also I'm gonna be annoying and ask the question again: when will tekkit be up? Or do I need to get OM's opinion first?]

795
So I went gathering votes about having Tekkit hosted.

The only one I need input from is OrangeMario; he's one of the other regulars of the server.

That's 4 [5 counting me] for it, 1 against it, and 2 that don't care.
We still have 1 undecided [OrangeMario].
