MM8BDM Discussion / Re: What has brought you here?
« on: February 25, 2011, 10:53:23 AM »
I was in a mood to play/read about Megaman games one day. After watchin' a few videos of MM7 and MM8 8bit style, I decided to go get them (in my opinion, those 2 games were alright). I was on the Megaman Database/Wiki for those 2 games. I saw there was also more fan made games, so I checked out the others. This game's title stuck out the most out of all the others "Mega Man 8-bit DEATH match". I am a guy who pokes fun of English dubbed anime (Yugioh The Abridged Series is what I have to blame  :p ), so that's why the word "death" stuck out for me. Death is somethin' that the company's like 4Kids would try to take out every time.

After I played with MM7 & MM8, I decided to come back for the 8bdm and played it ever since then. This was around Oct/Nov 2010. So which means I missed quite a few old events/happenein's. When I first started playin' I was a pretty decent player in DMs. Only robozena and DMs were the ONLY modes during those times, and custom wads were pretty much nonexistent. This was also before I used the Doomseeker, and only used the built-in function. During my first few matches of playin' DM, I noticed robozena was a really popular mode to play. I expected robozena to be a really fun mode, but wound up bein' disappointed. So when I returned to DMs, I was almost always the the person who was 2nd place in large scale DMs. The players who always denied my gold were Celebi and VxLoneWolfxV. I developed a rivalry with those two after many games of stompin' me out of 1st place, XD. About a month later was when everythin' started to shape up similar to today. Wolf founded the Unfaded, I meet my friends like Muzaru, Bikdark, Stiki(aka MM8), and a few others, and when I started to become more and more involved in the community.

So I made him start complaining? I'm sure he would have anyway.

Like I said, whether he would have complained about the match for some other issue isn't the point (and I believe that would be considered speculation, anyway). You started complaining about the map and the tactics that savior was using, and he was trying to respond to you. You distracted him, which led to the llamas in question.

Anyway, YD, Savior, Stonefunk, look up at my previous post; I believe I have an acceptable compromise on the table...

Looks fine, but another EU server? ... *Loses to Yellow Devil*

I'd say, if I do fight again, we could fight on an US server and again, all Yellow Devil has to get is 2 frags, while I need 5.

If Savior wanted to talk, a quick "wait" or "hold on" or something would've been sufficient. He was only talking to complain :/
Ya still would of llamaed me anyway. Split seconds do add up!

Finally, 100 ms isn't incredibly big of a difference. 200+ would be big, but I think it takes longer for someone to blink. Think about how long an actual second is, and then take a tiny sliver of that second. As you can see, it is not that big of a deal. If you need to use a sliver of a second as an excuse for losing, then I can't really call you a good player. Given, of course, that you are constantly a tiny bit slow. Still, just be grateful you can actually PLAY with people ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN and have lag that is only a fraction of a second long.
A split second difference does make a difference in some instances. Like I can use magnet missiles in short range without a problem if my ping did not screw me over. That would change the results.

Also if ya take the half-half deal, ya could shut me up for good. So what do ya say? If ya try to wait it out until ya can't fight anymore (time limit), now that's the coward's way out!.

Bias game?

I think Bluebrawl said something we should all consider about pings a while back...
Could ya quote what he said?

It's not an argument of not dueling it's an argument of where to duel.

Ya are tryin' argue for a bias game to pass. As we all saw, an US player on an EU server has always lost.

I would of looked bad if I refused to duel you. Then what should I've done? Take the victory from ya by Fire's 1st deal?

Whatever happened to you being okay with an EU duel?
Oh, whining happened.
Because ya refused to take the half-half deal, that's why.

Well, Stonefunk please consider skipping this stupid redo, I'll do it if I have to because you're the boss. I'm not really a fan of dueling, I thought pickups would be banned D:

Let's fight now then! Let's get this over with. Why did ya just pop yar head in, and left?

I'm still waiting for Savior. If we don't duel by tomorrow, I should advance because I already beat him in round 3.

I'd say Fire should decide who advances (asumin' that we don't meet up again). Judgin' on the last unfair game wouldn't fair, but hey that's just my opinion.

So chatting are llamas still count as scoring?

That'll be SaviorSword 10-9 Michael712

BlueBrawl llamed Muzaru once on the Top Man stage, but he honorably killed himself to make it up.

I can't believe there's hardly any rules about llamas... It's creatin' some headache all by its self.
